Pepsi Merchandiser 

when i was still with pepsi I serviced the busiest walmart in vermont it did so much volume they had to take 2 stores off my route cause i’d get deliveries there 5 days again usually between 8-15 pallets a day . i had so many cooler banks it would take 2 hrs to do coolers sometimes even 3 . I only had 2 stores to service that’s cause i’d spend 6-7 hrs at walmart alone 😂

@@positivityandpeace3548 yeah no kidding. Used to work for 7up and had an easy route-- 300-350 case orders, 400-550 during holidays. I ended up moving to a different city a few years later and got a job working for Pepsi and unbeknownst to me this Meijer I have to merchandise is apparently top 10 in volume in the midwest. Orders 6 days a week Monday-Saturday haha.

@@rdg760jr2 I lasted about 2 months, too much responsibility with nagging clown bosses and store managers, i was pulling in 11 and a half hour shifts starting day 1 with no work life balance. not worth the $23 an hour for the constant stress that came with it and i feel sorry for anybody that works for pepsi as a merchandiser. Luckily i found something that pays more and life has been smooth sailing.

Is everyday 12 hour shift?

@@syl6090 no not everyday but summer there’s a lot but I do a high volume route I just finished a 56hr week. After holidays though it’s really slow

rotation is very important or my many bosses yell at me and write me up lol. Diet sodas are key to rotate as they have a shorter shelf life.

@@pastorjoelbremer i guess it depends on the store. Some stores the product flies off the shelf. Other stores may sit longer. Just depends.

@@Tommy2Txmes true...I've only had problems with diet drinks. plus if you dont rotate back room, it can be easy to have the same product with 3-4 different dates.

That actually depends where we are talking about. In Texas coke and Dr Pepper are the top sellers not Pepsi. Believe it or not the PEPSI guys have the least amount of work but make the most money of the 3 main distributors in the Houston TX market

@@TheVANITYKILLJOY Yeah, absolutely. As long as you’re down for a lot labour work! My hours tend to differ depending on how much we have to deliver and merch, with the hours usually around 8 hours or 10. Sometimes even 12 lol

I work for coke and honestly I don't take my breaks, unless its a slow day. If I'm hungry I wait until I'm driving to the next store I eat while I'm driving.

I work for Pepsi and I don't take breaks or lunches. But like the other dude said you take em when days are slow...like no load days...to get your hours. lol

We don’t eat while at work, we’ll at least me I don’t get a lunch break. I eat till I get home.

my training was 2 weeks, although i spent a year in the warehouse before coming out to merch so that likely shortened my training since i was already familiar with the company and the business

Just long days bro especially load days for your bigger stores, my big store is a Food 4 less non load days takes me like 2-3 hours to finish but on load days takes me around 4-5 hours

@@romeoboarman7642 merchandisers where I stay just work weekends Friday - Monday , the salesman works Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday orders like a salesman but has to work his store like a merchandiser … but I stay in South Carolina tho

For the most part you’re trained in the beginning to know what products belong to pepsi, then you work with what’s in the backroom or the load on delivery days

Yeah I make lists in my NOTES app on my iPhone. Always go around the store first and make your list then go to the back. Saves you a lot of time.

I thought the same thing. It's a bit more work than just stocking soda. The pay isn't bad but the hours are crazy long at times and you're off when the job is basically done.

On my 3rd day of training I was left completely alone and since then I've never got the rest of my training.. Yep sales rep orders way too much of other items like Starbucks, Pure Leaf Tea, Brisk, Montellier, Evian, Aquafina etc ... Way too many products sizes and formats. Sure it pays well but it's a headache when I go to big format stores like Walmart ... It's impossible to keep up.

And pay for Pepsi is 23.50 😂 sorry not doing all that for 16.00

I was a beer merchandiser for In Portland Oregon area for most of my 20s and early thirty’s. Than at 37 I got the Pepsi merchandiser job in Portland area. Two months later I was at my old job for more money. The pay is great for someone right outta high school. Great healthcare

Also side note I might still be there if I didn’t work at current job. Didn’t I’d leave that job so quick. Also that music in background is horrible

Here in my area you can get out early if you finished all your stops. But also you can leave until you finished all your stops. But they also send you help if you request it.

@@ericdiaz8464 lol kid. You dont know what you're talking about. You dont have to manage 60cph for 3 hours nonstop. Uncase, stock, block, pull riser. Get your trash. Then dump trash in baler. Sometimes you have to make a bale. And then jump into your next aisle till lunchtime. And then come back. Finish that aisle before the store opens. And then you got extra duties to finish before you can clock out. Vendors all they have to do is count the merchandise that needs to be replenish. Go to the back and start picking off the backstock. Pull the 6wheeler. Throw the cart. And thats it. Its not even hard. Just make the shelves look good.

It varies on the region you're in. But for the most part we get our 8 hours and some OT time to time! I can't speak for coke because I've never worked for them.

Actually it's not 40 hours, since Pepsi is the only one that still does the mandatory 6 day, if you work all 12 hours for 6 days, it's 72 hours.

What are the start times ?

@@Urgepick7068 I believe it depends on location. In bay area, earliest start is 4:30am, but usually they would say it's best to start between 5 or 6am, especially 9n days you have loads. It's due to deliveries doesn't get drop exactly on time as you see the ETA on your schedule for that day.

I love working for Pepsi and they treat us good. Yea there’s some stressful days but which job isn’t.
