Comparative advertising is a promotional technique in which an advertiser claims the superiority of its product over competing product(s) by direct or indirect comparison.
Silly me. I thought it was banned because they were playing stereotypical Mexican music, the boy's skin had a stereotypical Latin-American color, and his lack of height was emphasized.
@Chris Taylor I was about to say... It's "medal." There's no such thing as a medle, unless you meant to say "medley," which actually has more to do with music. Or maybe you meant to say "meddle," which actually means "intervene."
I like how people try to falsely prove that coke won in this ad. That just proves how savage it is. coke fans have been brutally attacked here, and they feel the need to fight back. It's not about who made more in sales. At least in this commercial it's not. It's about what he wants to actually put in his body. He is willing to spend three times more (assuming both are the same price) and waste 2/3 of what he bought to get what he considers to be the good stuff. The coke is used here as a disposable, throw-away tool to get what you want. I don't drink much soda nowadays, but in my younger days, I used to actually drink both Pepsi and coke. Just don't pretend that this commercial isn't powerful.
ikr i would take the cokes and steal his pepsi why well i ussaly hang out with 2 of my freinds one of them likes pepsi and me and my other freind likes coke
Actually, Coca-Cola tastes like any other cola soda to me, even a can of Pepsi cola. Unless you meant to say that cocaine tastes like the smell of cigarette butts. In that case, I'm hardly in a position to argue since I don't do drugs...
It’s hilarious to me how Coca Cola sued Pepsi over this but they have a commercial with a 1 animated can of coke slaughtering dozens of animated Pepsi cans on a battlefield😂
I remember this ad a bit differently, went a bit like this: A man in a business suit is rushing through a crowd of people, possibly for work outside of the US, the crowd around him is bustling, animals, people, workers. The businessman is talking on his flip phone about something work related, while on the phone, he sees this boy sitting next to the vending machine, the boy looked like he's lived in poverty his whole life. The businessman hands the boy a few quarters from his pocket, he says "Pepsi! Si? Pep! Si! Okay." before returning to the phone call on his flip phone. The boy proceeds to do as he did in this commercial, buying two cans of Coke to reach the Pepsi button, as the businessman watches, his jaw opening a bit. The boy grabs the Pepsi as it drops before handing it to the man, as the boy takes the two cokes and begins to walk away. The businessman looks at the Pepsi in his hand, contemplating if it was worth sending a boy to get it for him at the price of two cokes. The businessman tosses the Pepsi behind him and the Pepsi can explodes on impact with the concrete. He approaches the boy. "Hey kid!" he says, before handing the kid a 100 and taking one of the Cokes, 100 bucks being a lot in the boy's country, before looking up at the man. The man says "Let's go have a coke.", and the two walk off, the camera takes a shot of the busted Pepsi can on the ground leaking, and text appear on screen, "Kindness is much more valuable than selfishness." and then the coke logo appeared. Possible Mandela Effect, but that's how I remember it. :P
man i love watching people argue over which carbonated beverage is objectively the best in their opinion. please do continue, i am quite interested in what you have to say.
