2) 14% increase
3) ≈ 44.4% decrease
4) I have a greater percent error because I was approximately 23.8% off from the actual, but my friend was only about 9.5% off. This makes sense because my estimate was farther away from the actual length than my friend's.
This video is about how to find the percent increase or decrease from an original amount to a new amount. We also discuss how to find the percent error for an estimate compared to the actual amount.

An easier formula is this: New subtracted from Original divided by original x100

For those wondering, the answers to the questions at 5:00 are as follows. 1) 150% increase and 2) 14% increase. They are both increase because in both questions, the numbers went up. However, if they had gone down, then the answers would be a percent decrease.

Is there anyway to get to a % between two numbers without doing any subtraction? When dealing with penny stock's opening and closing prices in the Sub Zero ( for example .0004) to (0.74) it's way too time consuming to do the subtraction first.....
