Perch Fishing in New Canal | Nano and Micro Jigging

Tried this new canal for me and had lots of fun, lots of perch including few decent size perch.
Gear:
Rod: Ovidijus Putna Custom Rod 172cm, 0.2-1g
Reel: KastKing Kestrel 1000
Braid line: YGK X-braid Upgrade x4 #0.25
Fluorocarbon 0.12mm
My made jig head with #16 fly hook and 4mm 0.48g tungsten sloted bead
Lures:
Crazy Fish Whitebait 0,8 inch
Quantum 4street B-Ass Shad 5,6cm

Thankyou for your effort and adventures. Very calm and entertaining... I like your accent. Hope kai is going well, my boy echo is 4 already. In my area we call the fish "redfin" and we call silver perch, perch. Im from south Australia. I like what your woman said about how you pronounce the word burger.. haha, borguh!

It's a good spot round there isn't it 😜 I'm sure I'll bump into you there again at some point in the winter haha. I find the pike are surprisingly difficult to catch considering how often you see them attack things on the surface! They get fished for quite a lot and they've gotten wise I think

That’s stretch of canal has a crazy amount of pike they are constantly chasing bait fish up everywhere. Iv fished it since I was a kid

To be honest i never seen anywhere else so much activity in winter time. So many perch and pike were chasing bait. Crazy 😁🎣

I noticed that. So many pike and they are so aware. They're seeing way too many lures. But that makes more interesting and more challenging to get one 😁🎣

I wonder if the Trout Magnet kit would work well with that ultralight setup you have brother.... i bought the TM kit a while ago and Ive never used it. 1/64th Oz jighead hooks and lures to match.

It should be perfect. As i checked 1/64th is about half gram plus lure - should be perfect as this rod is meant to be up to 1 g. (Tried up to 1.5g included lure - still working but need to be careful)

Chub are great fish, one of the best fighters and I think they are Nr.1 how hard their attacks are 😁 I'm really struggling to find them around me. But of course, if mainly you have only chubb, then definitely there is craving for another species. And canals are great option when rivers are too high and unfishable.
