We need passenger rail service back in Michigan!! This ia a far flung state and fairly thinly populated after you leave the southeast corner. Combine with limited interstate hi-ways in the northern sections & our snowy winters, this would be great.
The Pere Marquette 1225 is a beautiful steam locomotive 😀😁, if it wasn’t for her the Polar Express would not exist and she would not be famous as she is now 😥😥🥺
@@diviserm936 most machines from what ive heard, is a she, just due from sudden emotional changes, it can be running good one second, and then trying to beat your tail into thw dirt the next, i also heard a close analogy in a documentary about stem locomotives as well

If they had cut off the diesel, it would have been cool, but I know they probably need it for dynamic braking assistance, HEP/HVAC for the passenger cars, and pulling the train back to the other end of the line.
Stuart Adams Railfanning Videos the only reason the diesel was there was because of the fact they needed to be towed to and from Alma. It was quicker then wying in Alma. It saved time. I know last year coming back from Mt Pleasant they didn’t reach owosso till midnight. From Alma it would have been two hours plus, the time to wye the train.
Why are there toys on the outside of the train? I would love to see the 1225 in real life. I live in the metro Detroit area and will not mind road tripping to see the amazing train. Thanks.
I do not actually remember. It is in Ithaca right after the park there. I can look it up but it is right before the curve (southbound) or right after the curve (northbound)
