Getting into fragrances broke the hell out of my bank the last few years. It became a horrible addiction, I just stick to my fave 4 now. Xerjoff Naxos, Sauavage Elixir, JPG Le Male Le Parfum and TF Grey Vetiver
@@Najdorf_ its an awesome scent but with tom ford frags i dont get any longevity or sillage with it. I find tom fords to be lacking in quality these days, i dont actually buy TF anymore, grey vetiver is a great masculine smell though. My best complimenter is Le Male Le Parfum though 👌🏻
Nice. Im a 34 y/o dude who as I got older got into vintage vinyl record collecting and fragrances. Its a tough habit to break impulse buying. I have settled on a lineup of mostly Spice bomb extreme, NR Bleu Noir edp, Cedrat Boise, and Fahrenheit Le Parfum.
When I was starting my fragrance journey 4y ago I tried Terre D'Hermes and dismissed it, never tried it since, but 3 months ago I tried it and was blown away how good it is now to me. I bought it immediately in the store. As for Layton, I'm good with decant because the occasions for it are rare, and it's loud so it will last for some time. Terre D'Hermes is timeless.
Terre dhermes layered with TF grey vetiver is the perfect mix for me. That bright and pleasant barbershop note in TF with the intriguing dirty note in Terre is just so addictive!
I've bought my husband five fragrances this past year and they include all three of the ones you recommend here. I guess I'm making some good choices. I know that he and I both like them, but it's nice to hear you recommend them too.
My recommendations would be: Ysl Y Edp, a Blue fresh beast for every occasion or season, women love this one like no other. 9Pm - a great smelling winter/fall fragrance with a great performance. Club de nuit intense Edt - if you want a strong fragrance, that smells like creed aventus, for maybe special occasions Missoni wave - if you need a perfume for the gym or like a quick groceries shopping.
Dislike for Y EDP. Easily the worst on this list. It's way too cloying and synthetically sweet. If you wanna hate yourself when you wear it, buy it. Otherwise skip on it, not worth the hype.
@@deistormmodsdon’t spray too much man, and everything is synthetic now a days don’t expect real stuff from over green companies everyone wants to get out thier profits.
Had to go through 150+ bottles of fragrance just to realize, I don't need anything more than Versace Blue Jeans for spring, summer, and fall, and Eros flame for the winter.
Thx for this tips man…me head is hurting searching for my next frag to buy..seeing a comment like this really helps in deciding which to buy..because im like you, i categorize my favourites same as you did
Encre noir extreme is amazing! Simillar to Dior homme intense in the scent profile even though it doesn’t have iris in the composition. I find the ocasion of use simillar to the dior as well in formal evenings.
As far as watches, a great starter collection would be a Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic followed by a Mido Ocean Star then finish with a Raymond Weil Chronograph. It's the best $2500 collection imo.
NICE!! I own all three of these fragrances. I also own all three flankers of Encre Noire. But by for the Extreme is my favorite. So amazing that you shared it in this short video.
I love when I scan the short vids on frags, and I have all of them. Encre Noir Ex...so unique. Vetiver is such a good note and it can be done so many ways.
terre de hermes is so good, BUT the newer batches of the edt version are so weak, lasts about 1 hour on me... so i would think the edp is better personally
I am dentist and usually is in close proximity with my patients. I am planning to buy DOLCE AND GABBANA EAU INTENSE AND MONT BLANC LEGEND SPIRIT AND BURBERRY TOUCH for their respective uses.Would you recommend them?
I would say get something more expensive and less offensive like MFK Masculin Pluriel (try before you buy), or if you want to stay affordable go for Montblanc Explorer
hard to go wrong with lalique. quality Vs cost is great. EN is a quality line. If you don't mind clones, Verset Cuero is a quality stand in for TDH, starting at Appx 4GBP for 15ml. The original is a gem.
A fragrance that gets a lot of hype that I personally don’t like is Versace Eros. Very loud and I don’t really like the scent overall. Gets a ton of positive reviews for reasons i don’t understand.
I have to say it’s a little relieving to hear someone else say they collect the same exact things as me even as a kid it was all about shoes watches and some nice appealing cologne mainly the compliment in a bottle that was the OG A&F fierce which is still one of my favorites as I’ve gotten older the toys keep getting more expensive 🤣🤣🤣
Nice idea but this is an odd selection. PDM Layton, for all the YT hype, is basically Mugler Alien - once you know this you can’t un-smell it! TDH is well crafted but so done these days; also linear top to base. The whole sweet honey tobacco blah blah thing is causing generations of clone frags. So much more to explore out there!
I'm reeeeeeally late with this one, but I just bought a bottle of Terre D'hermes after collecting fragrances for years. I honestly haven't been too interested in getting this one, but I saw a deal for a 100 ml bottle for $45. Can't beat that. Hopefully, it'll pleasantly surprise me.
I had got encre noir lalique extreme a few months ago. I didn't think my son would like a mature scent like this (he's 25 yrs old) but he loved it! I'll get it again soon. And hide it 🤣🤣
For fall, tom ford oud wood. (Smell it at Nordstrom or tom ford first) or for summer, mandarino Di Amolfi. Super Beachy, super fresh, fruity, and ocean airy type fragrance but somehow still not actually feminine. That's my 10/10 fragrances
I love watching videos like these. It takes me back from when I first started my fragrance collection. I remember my first ever designer fragrance/foundation starter was gucci guilty. Now here I am owning over 35 fragrances at only the age of 18. Can’t wait to keep building up the collection in the near future :)
love the content as someone trying to find his signaure smell after using le male in my 20's and i tend to agree with what he is saying, however not with lalique. this is not a critic, more what i found funny i bought Lalique Encre Noire a l'Extreme of his recommendation, got it super cheap like 27 pounds and it is one of the worst perfumes i have ever tried, no one i have shown it to liked it and i personally think it smells excatly like a woodstainer that i hauled literal tons of in buckets at a job long ago. it does have a hint of something interesting when its dried down but still overpowered by that woodstainer smell. no offence to those who like it.
I've started really enjoy and develop my taste in the early 20's and for years I've had at best 3-4 joints. Suddenly it hit me, that frags I like are being discontinued, so I started the hunt and ended up spending about two G's. When I did get what I want I started to explore (and that was a mistake) - that was about 6 months ago. Right now I've am over 5 Gs and there is no end to it. I started with these advices and moved on on to my own exploration. So long story short, its like advertising cocaine. There should be a disclaimer :)
Watches and fragrances are totally fine, but sneakers!? A person that uses Layton got to drees as fine. I can't imagine a person with some J's a T shirt and some gym pants or jeans wearing a Rolex and Creed's Green Irish Tweed.
Actually I tried tons of perfumes just to search for the perfect signature scent for me And some were smelling incredibly good such as the one edp but no performance Finally I got Layton and omg besides the great scent profile it's long lasting Mass appealing I love it and not everyone wears it ( + club de Nuit edp in the very hot Days in Egypt 40+ Celsius)
@@ddotkaan Since you asked, I gave it another try overnight. I sprayed it on my arm yesterday and I can still smell it now, 13 hours later, but only if I bury my nose in the place I sprayed. Keep in mind that it does not project much, it stays relatively close to the skin. I am guessing that oxidation makes this particular perfume stronger, I've had it for 2-3 years and I remember it being weaker before.
I just went on fragrancex to see if I could get a good price on a perfume for my girlfriend then compared it to ulta beauty it was cheaper on ulta beauty. I thought it was supposed to be cheaper for the most part??
I don’t know man... I like the Herod more than the Layton myself. But the Layton and TdH are both very good fragrances that I’ve received many compliments from. I guess it’s all subjective. Just know that most people wouldn’t agree with you.
Just got into fragrances, I currently have paco 1mill and just blind bought club de nuit intense. I really want to get the Velvet Amber Dolce & Gabbana EDP, that price tag is insane
Just buy a 10ml travel size. Should last you a while if you’re rotating. I have like 30 of those travel size bottles and they seem to never run out. Herod, Layton, Naxos, Tuxedo, Jazz Club, Terre de Hermes, Spicebomb extreme and Blue de Chanel parfum are a few of my favorites.
I am seriously considering a layton purchase, but i just went all out and bought like 7 different frags in less than a month after becoming addicted to this hobby 😂
No preference, no market for any product. The thing is everyone has their preference. Even blue perfume might not smell good for some. Pro tip... Stick with the influencer with the most relatable taste if you are usually blind buying
I have the encre noir sport. I like the fragrance itself, even though it's hard to wear sometimes, but I can not stand the scent that lingers for days after wearing. It smells like an old church lady
Can you do a review on the house of Alexandria Parfumes? I’ve been living the quality. They are fairly priced, smell great, and last me all day. Been particularly enjoying their Black Sun scent
Terre d'Hermes is one of those scents that make you go nose blind easily. It lasts pretty long (though not 14 hours on me). Just ask someone after 8 hours, they can probably still smell it
