Someone say something stupid so Dave has to continue making these videos! Great content and always learning when Dave is in front of camera! Adding the 3x5 card to my training has been monumental for my pistol craft and is my go to during drills. Even saw Ken Hackathorn give the 3x5 a go in a drill awhile back on here. These Legends don’t talk just to be talking!

Dave’s right, if you can’t find the dot you’re lookin’ at the sight and not focusing on the target.

Yes they do. I handled this gun at the legacy course and I do prefer the texture of the Bowie gun to Boresight’s stippling. It seemed to lock my hand in better than the Boresight gun did

Anyone who saids red dots are slower at close range tells they haven't had a lot of experience with pistol red dots.

Red dots will teach you to shoot both eyes open. One eyed shooting is a habit hard to unlearn, unless you use a red or green dot.

Once i went to a dot i would never think about going back and every single pistol i got or will ever get will have a dot even my 1911s get sent out to get cut.

Dave I love your videos. I’ve been watching them for years and think I’ve watched every one of them. I still carry the Ameriglo Spaulding sights on most of my Glocks. I really like the blacked out rear and square front sights. You’ve been an inspirational teacher to me my friend. I hope you continue making videos. It’s alway good to see your mug once in awhile.

One great aspect of adapting to the Red dot is it helped me learn to shoot both eyes open. So, when I shoot my non optic duty gun I shoot both eyes open, and I started with the 1911 in 1976 in the USMC. Old dogs CAN learn new tricks.

I am 80 years old, and I agree with everything you are saying. Red dots are the best night sights I have ever used. The best day or night. If you don't believe that, then you have 'young' eyes. If you live long enough, then you will know what is being said.

Mr. Spaulding, I noticed that the back of your Bowie G19 grip is flush with the back of the magazine baseplate. Im in the process of sending my G21 to Bowie Tactical. Was that an option or did you ask for that special ? I would like the same feature so what do I ask for specifically? Big fan of the channel.

How does the recharging work if the gun is carried concealed ? The only thing I enjoy more than your videos was the kinetic pistol class we took with you. Everything you teach is just SOOO practical. Thanks for what you do and enjoy your semi-retirement

The solar cells don't technically recharge the battery, as there are no rechargeable button cell batteries. The solar panel provides the energy for the dot if there is enough ambient light. If there is not, the battery kicks in. So they don't recharge the battery, but it does drastically prolong battery life.

What would be a good “cold start” drill? The 2x2x2? Don’t you usually start your practice sessions off with 3 round fadeback?

Yes both are good cold drills and Dave does start every session with a 3 round fade back.

Dave is one of the few that teach real life scenario, not how the military organizes a squad of 10 to engage a skirmish. Anyone who thinks they can tell Dave he's wrong is the same person that will tell you Biden is the best president in American history, so take your bag of Cheetos and go back to the basement.

One of the best instructors.. I'll forever be a fan.. I do have an issue with red dots.. I'm much faster with my big dots.. and it's just like you said.. I'm looking at my target and that huge for is superimposed on my target .. I keep working with that red dot, but I'm tired of fishing for that fuckin dot!
