Locking tuners work wonders. Stays in tune until you have to change strings. It is a pain to initially restring and lock everything but you don't have to mess with it for a while

imagine judging people on how many strings they want, guitar lives matter. some people play metal and need that 9th string for djent, examples are, glass cloud, tony danza tap dance extravaganza, after the burial, even mick gordon for the doom 2016 soundtrack, some players that use 9 strings dont even play metal, im sure there are some jazz guitarists that have a 9 string to do the bass as well. people like tim henson and ichika nito use 8 strings for math rock, and its damn good.
