Homemade Idli Dosa Batter is a simple three-steps process - soaking, grinding and fermenting. The dosa batter is made by soaking the rice, urad dal ( gota ), fenugreek seeds and poha for 6-8 hours minimum or overnight and then grinding it into a smooth batter. Here i have soaked rice, poha and fenugreek seeds in one bowl and urad dal in separate bowl. Main thing here is to keep the quantity of rice and urad dal in 3:1 ratio - 3 cup rice and 1 cup urad dal. This batter once fermented is used in making Idlis, Dosas and Uttapams. The same batter can be used for making super soft idlis and crispy dosas.
Ingredients:-
1 and 1/2 cup basmati rice
1 and 1/2 cup normal rice (sonamasuri rice)
1 cup urad dal (whole)
1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
1 tbsp poha
