My only issue with investing in a Fractal compared to a tube amp is that if you put your tube amp in your will, your kid could use it after a minor service job. Whereas the Fractal will be obsolete technology that only functions as a paper weight.
Why do people keep saying this stuff? Even if there are no more updates on a model, that doesn't mean it becomes useless. It's like saying an 87 silver jubilee is obsolete because, whoa, have you heard this 88 JCM800?. Companies can evolve their properties, and should. That does not cause previous incarnations to cease functioning.
@@axlfruitypebbles funny that you had to use analog tube amps as examples and not any digital guitar gear from decades past. Is the 80's-90's digital gear so useless that would not consider mentioning anything as an example? That is exactly my point.
Companies are known to discontinue products and stop supporting old products all the time. I have a few pieces of gear that have been discontinued and no longer providing downloads or updates. The only option is to toss them. Try using a generation or 2 old I pod or I phone for example. You can find piles of that useless shit at thrift stores. But you cant use it.
@@spidermancereal It's not really a fair analogy, is it? I mean, it would be like comparing an ancient Vox to a Diezel. Digital has come leaps and bounds in just the last 10 years. And, yeah, awesome stuff like a 59 Super Lead is great if you have the resources to actually use it properly, but no one does. It's a collector's item and that's pretty much it. A paperweight. I don't know, man. All I know is that I absolutely adore my fx 2 and see no reason at all to upgrade, nor am I worried that it will spontaneously decide to crap itself and become truly useless or unrepairable.
@@spidermancerealthat’s not really how it works. Periphery is still using AXE 2’s to my knowledge. Also the infinite tweaking will not change. Yeah if it takes a shit and there’s not axefx anymore, it’s done, it’s a computer.. however the level of depth that you can change your tone is so deep most people wouldn’t understand what they are changing and would only process it as a change in how the sound feels. I moved to axefx a few years back and haven’t cared to go back at all.
