Nice CNC Lathe brass parts making it is nice to see parts being machined, tolerances can likely be held so high on these fine machines, thank you for sharing. We love live tooling abilities of lathes of current times twin spindles twin turrets also doing different operations is a real great thing to be able to do as well, so efficient these are. You make nice looking parts we thank you for this sharing. Lance & Patrick.

To all the haters. Speed is not always the key. A machine like that could run 100% unattended, and with moderate feeds and speed you get great tool life. So what if a part takes 11 mins if the machine can run over night without any operator and still produce great quality.
@depenthene
@depenthene 7 лет назад
You are right. I like to add that is depends on many parts you need to make. We manufacture even single parts, so shaving off one minute off the manufacturing process is useless. Most of the time is anyway spend on programming, not running the machine. I basically set the machine fast doing rouging while I program other things it needs to do.
@LecraeFan-kj6sb
@LecraeFan-kj6sb 7 лет назад
No, because if you have a 10.5 minute part and you need six machines to meet production demand, you would rather bring the part down to 3.5 minutes and you could do the same output on 2 machines. You can spend 600k on machines vs 200k on machines for the same output, just by learning how to program efficiently.
@Bizzhatesme
@Bizzhatesme 7 лет назад
And if i can run it faster unattended over night, you just lost your contract to make the parts.

no no no, if you can do a pece in 3 minutes you get more money for buy more tools, more G0 movements and F0.3mm/rev its ok, this sucks...
@sufzup

Tool cost is much cheaper compared to longer production time, what a waste...

The feed is definitely slowed down for this video and there is no coolant so you have a lot higher chance of tool breakage. This clearly was for demonstration purposes. I run CNC lathes I can tell that the jog is turned Way down along with a possibly open hatch where a automatic safety feature of most machines slows the feed rate down as well. Just enjoy the precision that goes into machining a hunk of metal

The feed speeds must have been turned way down for that demo.

On the second op.. Why would you cut the relief after the thread only to go back for a spring pass?

сделайте тоже самое только на простом универсальном станке. и тогда посмотрим кто специалист!

Knowledge cannot be stolen wrong, its well machined and certainly not cheaply made like most of china made product who only cares about quantity and big margin. This may be a precision tool which have specific tolerance and specs.

could it be becasue they were not using coolant, they decided to use brass for the demo, and this program was meant for a steel part?

11 minutes that should have taken 3. Why so many steps for drilling and boring operations??? And that chamfering stage at the end? Painful.

Quelle lenteur ! Heureusement que dans l'usine où je travaille on va un peu plus vite, sinon mon patron râlerait sans cesse ! Les débourrages se font en rapide (G0) et pourquoi 2 passes pour le fraisage !

This is possible because brass is soft and sticky material. So the passes are the requirement of the thread finishing.

I could make that in way less than half that time on my cnc machines in my shop, and in here in USA nonetheless. Those finishes, look like shit on a stick. I would not let that trash part go to one of my customers.
