Balki, Larry, Jennifer and Mary Anne are on hand to host ABC's TGIF on March 29, 1991 and introduce the shows Full House, Family Matters, Baby Talk and a repeat showing of their own episode Family Feud.
I confess that this scene played when I was about 16 and I loved TGIF more than most people my age. I was kind of a late bloomer and didn't go out much, never had many friends, so to me, all the casts of these shows were like family to me. I looked forward to watching these shows and really loved the introductions by the stars. Sounds silly but they were just so comforting. Watching them on RU-vid now just makes me realize just how lucky my generation was to have these silly shows. I wish I could go back to these days.
I was also like that. I often watched these shows at that age, albeit on cable reruns in the early 2010s. It's really fascinating to see the context in which these shows were first shown.
What makes these rhyming intermissions so special is that it could only be done for a specific combination of episodes and most likely couldn’t be used more than once. So even for reruns , they had to do a whole different rhyme for whatever TGIF episodes were airing that night. Kudos to the unsung writers for having to write these lyrics and incorporate the episode description of each show
@@JustinW06 Yes it was. lol. I'm not gonna deny that. I tend to love terrible shows for some reason. It's a bad thing because I love a lot of stuff that is short lived, forgotten about, and never re-released...
