PERFECT VANILLA CAKE!!

Melissa’s perfect vanilla cake
Recipe:
1 C. Unsalted butter
1/2 C. Shortening
3 C. Organic sugar
2 t. Vanilla Extract
5 eggs
3 C. Organic all purpose flour
1 t. Salt
2 t. Baking powder
1/2 C. Buttermilk
1/2 C. Whole milk
Preheat oven to 350. Cream butter and shortening together. Add sugar and mix. Add vanilla extract, mix. Add eggs, one at a time. In a separate Bowl, whisk flour, salt, and baking powder together. Add about a third of the flour mixture to the butter mixture. Then add half of the milk mixture. Next, another third of flour mixture, then other half of milk mixture. Lastly, add final third of flour mixture just until incorporated. Pour into parchment paper lined cake pans. Bake approximately 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before frosting/decorating.

Thanks! I'm planning to try this out tonight. Instead of vegetable shortening, I'd like to try palm fruit shortening. Organic palm oil is the only ingredient in it.

@@melissapirkle534 well, the flavor is really good, but I apparently added too much of it. I guess a little goes a long way. I'll have to try again one day.

I’ve been looking for a moister cake recipe. We love pound cake but it turns out pretty dry. This one might work for us. I will be , Making this. I think freezing cake layers makes the cake’s texture and taste more like a bakery cake.

@@dianejohanson98 yes! This one holds the moisture in, and I agree that freezing them helps with that. It definitely makes them easier to frost/decorate as well. Thanks for subscribing! 💕
