I've seen in a video that in order to use STL Tonehub or Amphub we should set our interface gain to 0 (so, no gain basically) and then when we set the Amphub, for example, add the gain in the input knob. I've also seen a chart where it claims that the ideal gain to get the best sound from the presets that we have in the plugin we should set the input gain to 12. Is that true? I'm saying this because I can see the input knob is at noon in this video, so he's not adding any gain from AmpHub...
@@STLTones I used the plugin's input listener at first and also the green light of my Focusrite interface, but it just add a ton of gain to my tones. And as this video claims: gain is usually not the best friend of a nice and defined tone. The presets sound suuuper distorted when doing that, so that's why I'm asking if the 0 gain approach on my interface was the right way or, at least, a better way to get the best tones.
