I noticed they had a lot of smoke coming off the cut , we ended up putting a hood over our open machine and it really helped . I will get Robin to send you a photo , it may help out someone with an open machine. We went from changing air conditioner filters every other day to every 3 weeks. It has also stopped most of the settled smoke all over the shop.
Hey Gary, thanks yea, I knew they built somethign but I havent seen pics yet. That smoke rising is particularly bad with Oxygen cutting. Because even with the downdraft running underneath, it doesnt help because so much of the smoke rises up on top of the sheet.
the last 30 sec of the video ...THAT is what it is all about ... you need someone you can work with and likewise the customer needs someone who he can work with too nothing just another number ... THAT is what is lost in todays society ... ! and as long as you can make it work and pay the bills that way - more power to you !
Yes sir, you are dead on. I am fortunate to be in a position to be somewhat selective about this. There are going to be a certain subset of people who would view this as just another transaction, a commodity... Not realizing that, the markup I charge covers so many services. Importing the machine, handling all the issues associated with that. Advising the customer to make sure they get the right machine for their needs. But also, stocking parts in the US, having someone to bounce ideas and questions off of, and being availalbe for anythign they may need for the next 3-5 years over the life of this machine, until they have out grown it and are ready for the upgrade!
Yea, the Fiber laser sweet spot is in thinner material, so 10 gauge and down. I would put the edge quality below average in thicker material. 1. Waterjet 2. Oxyfuel 3. C02 Laser 4. HD Plasma 5. Fiber Laser 6. Air Plasma
