I was going to use some ugly plugs to fill the holes in my bumper but since whatever jack-leg installed them messed up on one side and had to drill two holes next to one another, I think I'm going to give this method a try instead. I've done plenty of wet sanding and paint correction, so I don't think this will be that bad. Thanks for the idea and all the other great videos! I was watching your videos before I found my E63 but I FINALLY bought a 2016 wagon last week and you've covered a lot of stuff I plan to do. You probably won't remember this but you and I were actually bidding against each other on BaT probably 2 years ago for a wagon. Neither of us took that one home unfortunately. Anyway, I'm ecstatic to join the W212 club and absolutely love the car so far!
Congrats! Oh yeah, I remember bidding against you on the New Hampshire matte silver car. The main tip I would recommend is just make sure that you trim the hole ever so slightly countersunk. Otherwise any sanding/buffing you do will immediately uncover bear bumper plastic. Hopefully you find a better touch up paint than I did, the OEM Mercedes stuff absolutely didn't match LOL It's a great car, enjoy!
Awesome bruh. While you doing the paint correction, Would you like to do a video about how to remove the crackes and dents on the front windshield? I think that gonna be extremely helpful to everyone!
I think it's possible, but There's not a lot of room to get those clips on the back side with the bumper on. You probably spend more time messing with it then it would be just to remove the whole bumper.
NO factory BOV, I like the idea of one, but from all I've read, there is really no performance gain, its only good for smiles... which is fine, thats what the cars for right?
Mercedes Touch Up paint never matches, i can attest this with Tenorite (Steel) Grey and Palladium Silver. It’s best to just get a can at your preferred body shop instead. But given how much you’ve sanded now, it’s probably not advisable to redo it with the right shade of Carnibal red.
Yep, is one of those things, you already got everything completely taken apart... It's disappointing however, honestly in full sun, you can't see it at all. But yeah in the garage light it's a bit darker. Lesson learned,
Do you have to calibrate the 360 camera via Xentry after you disconnect the harness plug when taking off the bumper? I want to upgrade the Aux coolers and do some other work but cant find a solid answer. Its also a W212 E63. Thanks in advance.
@@ExoticCarDIY Makes sense, I’ll just disconnect both batteries and leave it like that until its fully back together. Appreciate the help. Best W212 content on RU-vid!
