Well good to see the community rising to the challenge to resolve what blaster companies can’t or refuse to address! I’ll be definitely interested in the metal plunger!
Milo, thank you so much for bringing this issue I discovered into the light. When this issue started I still had very high hopes for a favourable response from Worker. I discussed and made logical recommendations that would have resolved the issue, and keep the wider community happy with their premium purchase. To hear the response "use the weaker springs more, as it was primarily designed for those, and that the large springs will bring on early failure, fix with a double catch spring", (which did nothing to resolve the issue) was disappointing. The plunger I made up to prove a point first and foremost, that if its made correctly it works correctly. I am happy to have partnered up with Conrad from Sabre Spring Blasters, to help get this fix over the line, we revised the catch face, so it works correctly, removing the current issue on the largest spring. Worker treating a plunger as a comsumable is wrong... A catch plate is a consumable, a spring is a consumable... Never a plunger.
We certainly will be legendary and I guess the whole part that really upset me was that they basically told my friend to go packs and like almost like we're glad to take you $200 cash money but all we're going to do is sell you cheap interior parts even their quote upgraded parts that they're saying they are there just the same bloody thing
@@milosmodsYeah I did see some posts with them saying that. I wonder they was a translation issue or they were trying to keep future upgrades hush hash. I have never been fan a of worker blasters tbh. I will definitely pick up a blaster if I can put some Sabre parts in there.
My Swift has all metal parts catch trigger the whole nine yards the only thing it doesn't have that still stock is the safety that's it but everything else is all metal in my blaster and my Swift
I just started having that issue. I've been using a cut down swift 1.8 spring giving me 330 to 340 fps and its only just started to fail. Im definitely getting this plunger when its available. What is annoying about this, the swift is only slightly cheaper but has a metal plunger by default and you choose if you want to switch, this was ment to replace the swift in some aspects. Why sell all these upgrades, knowing it will fail? People these day (in Australia anyway) We want 250-350fps blasters even upto 400 fps and im sure worker know that.
You're 100% right you couldn't have said it better myself I mean honestly bro you excellent spot on You don't mind if I ask you a personal question can you tell me how long that 1.8 cut down spring is that you're using and as far as a metal catch they're probably going to design something like that too or somebody will
@@milosmods its really annoying because like you said its a great blaster and built very well apart from this issue. I played around with different lengths and had best results cutting the 1.8 spring to 270mm, however the spring will stay compressed when resting so I add a 5mm spacer like you can get for the nexus pro. You will hit 330 but once in a while it will fart out a dart in to 280s or even as low as 260s.. My guess is because its a single o-ring the plunger head twist losing an air seal, so someone needs to develop a plunger head using 2 o-rings to avoid it happening. I actually would ming a metal catch and plunger
@@Antmac75 worker red gen 3+ cracks the 310s but worker bamboo and acc gen3 will hit 330s with the 450mm barrel. For some reason the 550 dose get up there but highly inconsistent
Thanks for the vid sir. And thanks Peter for finding this flaw and following through with a solid solution. Hope the new plunger will be readily available soon.
If we go back, as engineers to the basics of strength of materials (stress and strain), we will know the answer. Yes we solve the plunger but the catch will now subjected to stress in the other end. Easy saying both has to be changed, but we can agree these mechanical parts are wear and tear for such amount of cycles and force.
Yes that is true but when the company that makes the Blaster says we'll sell you a replacement parts but they're not upgrading the parts and making them stronger or better even than it's like they're trying to pocket a whole bunch of extra money over time you know because I run that Blaster a lot as well I've ran it in three games And I'm sorry I'm not fond of giving worker and endless supply of my money
Worker should give out the replacement plunger head for free for anyone that has a harrier. I have been telling everyone to buy this blaster. It’s amazing. However, it shouldn’t break that easily. 5000 shots will take me awhile to reach thankfully. I use the higher fps for plinking and target practice bc my wars/battles are with my children using stick elite level blasters. Even so, I know it’s going to break. My nexus hit 260 with non-metal upgrades and it lasted a year with fairly heavy use before things started breaking. Players are going to feel ripped off a bit when their $200 blaster stops working in 6 months. Thanks for the great video Milo!
Hi, Peter here. I would have gladly accepted another plunger off Worker, but they would not revise the catch face on it. And lets be honest, in CAD that would have taken 2 seconds. It is way too rounded, and Delrin on Delrin is incredibly slippery. Its like trying to catch a greased up pig on the biggest spring. So I took matters into my own hands messaged them explaining what happened and where the issue is and how to correct it, after a few days of back and forth, the end result was let the community fix it. So Workers loss...
Still debating buying one of these but my caliburn with polycarbonate magwell & metal parts is indestructible & if anything plastic breaks (it hasn't) I can reprint it. The harrier looks good but I wish it had all metal parts. I bought my worker burn & all upgraded parts for less though and now you can buy them even cheaper. FYI I'm running a k14 and hits 350-375 & can use full lengths at 300-350 if i want without the sloppy prime like a nexus
This is a little odd as I am hearing conflicting reports on this. On Jangular's most recent video about the Harrier a user said they intentionally tried to thrash their Harrier through thousands of shots repeatedly and saw no such problems. So it sounds like this looks like a poor catch design for the most part, but it looks to be more durable at lower spring loads possibly (which would make sense)? Though Worker's response was quite poor and disappointing given their status as a manufacturer and the price of the blaster and there is no excuse for that, at least these parts appear that they will be easy to replace in the coming months, whether it be a new metal part, a replacement from worker or a future community design given that those are the only two really notable plastic internal components of the blaster. For those curious, the choice to use delrin for the Plunger and Catch does make sense on paper, delrin is lighter than metal, which would yield faster speeds for the plunger rod when compressing air as it is pushed by a spring in the operation of the blaster when compared to a metal one. I am also assuming the delrin was used for the catch to eliminate potential durability problems with a metal catch on a plastic plunger, so it appears the design is more at fault here then the material choice.
Well my friend workers answer was yes we know there's a problem we're going to make extra parts okay they're going to make them out of the same exact material that they made the original parts out of and see a problem there they're going to make them the same way they're not going to redesign them or nothing they're just going to make replacement parts so those replacement parts are going to fail just like the original ones did so it would be like giving worker an endless money train I'm not a fan of doing that I would rather buy a metal part and get it over with well we have a metal part coming the community stepped up and built a metal part for the damn thing and I wasn't very happy with workers response either he basically told my friend to go pack sand
@@milosmods Definitely disappointing for sure. This community has always stepped up in the face of poor company practices and made some pretty amazing stuff, so I'm always pleased to see them do it again. Hopefully Worker can be better in the future.
@@devackroyd exactly my friend you know and I'm not going to trash a blaster company or anything like that goes perfection is not perfect nothing's ever perfect But at least maybe stress test your blasters or give them to a bunch of people in the community and let them stress test and they'll tell you what will Break in the New York minute I mean dark zone had the same problem with the 1.2 they never tested anything apparently I mean you had to take a screwdriver to it before you can even play with the blaster It seems like once they put a product out and they take our money they don't really care if the products garbage or not or if it will be garbage after a few thousand shots or whatever My whole thing is it's a $200 Blaster it shouldn't have problems like that I can see a $50 or even a $80 Blaster having problems but not a $200 Blaster
I guess even the old saying you get what you pay for is even being forgotten nowadays smh... Also, set up a little range area where you could demo shots of the blasters, expand the channels horizons. I want to see where milosmods goes this year. 💪🕶️ Keep grinding 💯
You know I thought about having some sort of range but my whole problem is I live in Michigan and for like 70% of the year I can't film because it's either too cold rainy snowing or something along those lines I have a very limited window during the summer I can film reviews and stuff outside if need be I do do it from time to time it's just when weather permits
Brah, it’s delrin, what do you expect? It’s light, harder than the sintered rubbish that will be soon available and more than enough for 99% of players easily. Less unsparing mass to heave when firing too unless your playing with stupid long barrels and silly spring loads that will just fishtail darts anyway
Well my friend I'm not one of those 99% okay and even if you run that blaster on a lower spring load eventually you'll have the same problem now the solution is from worker you can keep buying your plunger heads over and over and over again or by when it's made out of metal and get it over with And my darts don't fishtail and I've achieved near 300 with that Blaster with a stock 30 cm 1.6 spring in it
The issue is Worker decided to round off the edges of this "delrin plunger" for a hair trigger at the expense of durability. If they had kept the catch surface flat delrin would have been plenty.
Thank you by the way my friend there's another gentleman that's here in this comment section somewhere he's from your neck of the woods you would probably be a better help than I could ever be just because I don't live in your country I believe he has questions about what's legal here what's legal there in the country of Australia could you please help him
It's annoying how many bad reviews this blaster get. It is new, it comes from worker, so i expect a more durable blaster. I wanted one, bit i think it will be a second swift.
I've got a harrier... Long range fights not too typical where I'm from... Any known issues with the included 1.1 stronger spring? Chucked in the weakest 1.1 spring for now because of this vid.
It'll happen over time just like with any other spring you're going to prolong it a lot because you're using the very week is spring they have c players like Peter and I we play at like 300 FPS Caps or more so we use springs that high if it's a week or spring it'll just take longer but she'll suffer from the same issue eventually
Right... Kinda like how a guitar's strings loses its tone and wears over time... String changes every 6 months.... From that perspective, maybe its not so bad... Anyway I'm looking forward to this metal plunger. And I'm from Singapore :)
If it's the best plastic around then why does it feel after 5000 mine started to fail around 3,500 shots so I mean I'm sure it's a great material and all that but metal is superior I guess my whole argument is if you're going to charge premium money for a blaster at least either a cell upgraded parts that don't wear out is easily Or give the parts away forever which they won't do for example when the Swift came out they gave away new o-rings and all that for like a year and then they stopped now you can still get them but you have to pay through the nose And I'll be honest with you I play with that Blaster a lot and now I can't because it won't catch half the time because of worn-out plastic That's why metal is always Superior have a nice day
Here's an easier question for you my friend do you think that plunger rods in heads should be a consumable as in throwing away Cheap what I believe happened is that they hadn't planned on upgrading the parts so they're going to treat it as disposable product while I'm sorry a $200 Blaster to me is not a disposable product anybody with the saying mine will tell you a $200 blasters not a disposable product Here's the other thing that gets me to is that let's say they make the new plunger rods and heads and they send them out to people even if they do it for free how long is that going to happen how long are they going to keep giving stuff away for free Like I said I'll just go buy some metal parts to put in to the Blaster
Hi Milo, love your work my boi. Mate, i am considering purchasing the milsig m79 nerf dart blaster (co2 stock) and would appreciate your advice/input as to whether i should go ahead without hesitation, or *_not_* *Please advise*
Well the best advice I can give you is that Blaster is not really designed to be run on co2 it can be yes but you're not going to get the power out of it you know what I mean and you'll have problems engaging in full auto just because it's a lighter amount of pressure than what it's used to and that's why I just went ahead and ordered the HPA bottle and all of that And if they don't have the the tank and regulator in stock go to like a local paintball shop or airsoft shop and they should have one that fits in fact I'm going to buy a second tank this weekend for both of my m79s
@@milosmods sir - i thank you for your response and advice, as i am unfortunately currently residing in Australia 🇦🇺 where the firearm laws are absolutely ludicrous or worse - tbh - high intensity, rapid reps and worse
Well there is an Australian distributor I don't remember his name but you can call him and he would be more willing to advise you of the local laws in your area or maybe get a hold of Bradley Phillips he's a really decent chat he plays in Australia and he uses HPA he should be able to help too
@@milosmods yes mate - in my state (nsw) gel blasters are prohibited (wtf?) but nerf is cool (it's f'king mad down under bro, people have been locked up over children's toys 'n shit) but it's different state to state, nsw is absolutely fuckt qld is the only state that allows gel blasters, it's not even funny mate. There are people in jail on serious firearms charges, over children's toys - it's insane my boi
I know I had that very same discussion with Bradley Phillips one time cuz I was asking him information about the gel ball situation in your country he was very enlightening to me and it really does seem like your country that has some strange laws I'm kind of sorry for that I actually really feel bad for you believe it or not
@@milosmods no wonder they fail. Why wouldn’t they have all metal parts? Seems like a no brainer to me, perhaps to cut costs? Thank you Milo. Still want to get the harrier but will need to get parts to extend the operation of the unit
So it will take 5000 shots with a high power spring that is not included or recommended before it breaks. Sounds pretty perfect so long as you don't mod it.
No it's not included but why would they sell an upgraded spring for it if it's not recommended why would they sell not just one but two upgraded springs but yet they're not recommended does that make any sense to you doesn't make any sense to me why would you sell upgraded springs for but yet they're not recommended
@@milosmods worker sells tons of after market parts all with the words "mod at your own risk". For example, you can buy an upgraded worker stampede spring and that will break your blaster.
Well wouldn't you think that if they did that that they would sell other upgraded parts like maybe an upgraded plunger head not just the same plunger head I'm just asking these questions because that doesn't seem like that if they're just going to sell the same parts that is acceptable to breaking over and over again that's just them making money over and over again it's like an endless cash flow for them well I'm sorry but I don't feel like giving worker an endless supply of my money I don't feel like writing them a blank check either
@@milosmods for example I play twice a month with a springer. Around 100-150shots a game. That's about 3500shots a year if you are really competitive. 5000 shots would be around 2 years if I only used that blaster at my games.
@@uknowme7944 I understand where I play I do we use high-power Springer's and HPA exclusively so a blaster like this it would get that in about a month or two maybe three months if you're lucky mine has already started to show signs of where
Yeah exactly and you're 100% right I mean when I got my Swift the first thing I went out and did was I bought the metal Dart gate I bought the metal catch and the metal trigger just because I run it very high spring load and I want my blaster to last and spending $200 for a blast or to have these issues that's not cool that's not nice it's almost like workers said thank you for your $200 by the way go pack sand you know I mean I was blown away when he shared what they actually said to him about this issue
I'm using the 1.6x350mm. Zero issues. Ran 40rds through it as fast as I could. Still no wear. I also don't slam fire. I Cock N Lock before trigger actuation.
Hiya mate, that's an incredibly long spring, longer than a swift... you don't mean the 1.6 300mm for clarifacation? And the Harrier doesn't have slam fire, if you hold the trigger down it won't catch and the return spring on the prime will just keep shoving darts in there causing a massive jam in your barrel... you have no choice but to cock n lock. Lol.
4k without issue on a plastic toy.... yall really reaching for firearm quality blasters. I can't belive this is even upsetting. I can name 10 high end firearms worth thousands that will not get 4k rounds without a hitch.
@@chasev4883 A real fire arm is very different beast and under way higher stresses than a toy could ever be. That aint the best comparison. In saying that, any firearm or toy that Auto Discharges from a design choice to make the triiger pull as light as possible on the weaker springs, while selling the higher springs as recommended uprades, that make it unsafe... not good. First and formost we are looking for safety aspect for our hobby. If the catch was metal, and the catch face on the plunger didnt have a massive rounded section for said catch to try and hold, so it wouldnt start to misfire, before it stops stopped catching altogether, it would be a massive improvement. Normally these parts would be a combo of, metal on metal parts, or nylon on metal parts, but this delrin nylon, is a slippery material, so nylon on nylon with the desigh set up as it is, well not the best design choice. And when you say 5000 shots is a lot... it aint for testing, or general use for a toy at that price range. AF Blasters dont have this issue when cranked up, you dont see those having catch failures. A gelblaster can go through 10k of rounds in an afternoon if you have no trigger control, and I stress tested my builds for 50k of shots, before sending them out. And they are reciprocating gear box's, not a prime once and fire blaster, so that kind of set up is under a lot more stress at high fps than this blaster is... Would you say that when IKEA tests a matteress for 10 yeas worth of sleeping on it is excessive, to know that they have put a good product that you will feel hapy with and comfortable with? Would you say thet the car your driving didnt need all that testing to make sure itt was safe in a crash? From my experience, the more expensive the item, and depending on what it is the more rigerous the stress testing is, and in this case should have been, especially for a global market that dont play like China.
