The Stairwell Siren sure knows how to take advantage of the acoustics in the apartment building's stairwell. All her neighbors could hear the spooky sounds. Layne flew up to Nashville to record her and flew back just before Hurricane Ian crossed Florida. Elizabeth of The Charismatic Voice did some background vocals, especially when the zippy little ghosts made an appearance.
According to Layne, since the Hatbox Ghost didn't have a voice in the ride, he wasn't sure what character voice to use. Tony suggested the Crypt Keeper voice and that worked out perfectly with his appearance. Layne also said the black food coloring in his mouth was super sweet and gross! It's amazing what these guys will do for our entertainment.
(NOT SEEN) voice-over effect was Elizabeth Zharoff from (The Charismatic Voice) "Hide and Seek" is a song produced by Ho-ong-i, and performed by VOCALOID SeeU. (in Korean) the English version was done in 2014. The story is a young boy summoning a spirit to posses a girl to play hide and seek with him and if the spirit wins... the boys body is forfeit to the spirit
Yep. The lyrics are very creepy, and I've read comments that say the original version is even creepier. This one is actually quite upbeat, in a slightly terrifying way. Once you get that echo taken care of, your setup will be fabulous. Though if you're standing, we probably won't be able to see as much of your sweet doggie. :( But I LOVED that you were able to pace yourself right off the screen (and then come back in the other side, with proper panning and all!). Just as an aside, I also love that your headphones match your official "reaction video" shirt. :D
the original korean song can creep anyone out just by the images, it is a story of two kids, a boy and a girl, running from a ghost and the boy closes the dor at girls face, ghost takes over her body and starts to look for him with the ''hide and seek'' playful mood, at the moment she say ''could you be inside the closet?'' the boy is under a desk and leaves a breath of relief, then thats when the ghost finds him, leaves her body (which is d3ead now) and possesses him.
I can't get over how much I love this one by VoicePlay. They've done a fabulous job. Congrats on the new place! It's one of the most stressful things in the world to do, but once you have got the keys in your hand it's magical to be in a new place. Have a wonderful weekend!
@@billsturm9225 Elizabeth was the background vocals, but the flying ghosts are from AtmosFX, which is a company that makes digital decorations. These are from their Phatasms collection. I know because I own the collection and have used them in my own Halloween decorations, projecting them into a large window.
@@Nareimooncatt after hearing that Elizabeth was the ghosts from other sources, I stopped the original video and did frame by frame and I will say, they do look like her. I'm not saying you're mistaken as your logic makes sense but I'm also not accepting it outright. I think the only way to solve this is to ask Elizabeth, Tony or Layne. I'll let you know if I hear anything from them.
Yayyy for having your own permanent space again, and for more singing from you. I also noticed Ceasar's fabulous makeup and was so disappointed that others didn't comment on it. I mean that I realize the complete transformations of Layne and Geoff, Eli's boxers, and Lauren's ghostly effects are distracting, but that amazing eyeshadow job is also perfection 👌 Plus, the fake ending 2/3 through had me rolling. And don’t get me started on how many crazy vocal techniques and characterizations they used (and you pointed out). Also, did you notice on the spot where they're singing "I'm coming" there's a heartbeat in the background, and when they sing about entering the room, Eli says "hello" 😄. Plus, Elizabeth from Charismatic Voice does the operatic background vocals when the spirits show up. The original was actually in Korean and sung by a vocaloid (machine created voice) and the story was actually about a ghost? demon? thing that possessed a girl and was chasing after a boy in a house, then when it found him, it possessed the boy, killing the girl when it left the body. It is absolutely terrifying, I agree, lol. It was re-recorded in English by another singer before Lauren made it Tik Tok famous. There is a reason I've had this one on repeat for spooky season, and your reaction was everything that I wanted. Big hugs.
Hide and Seek is a Korean song by SeeU about a ghost that possesses the "it" of the hide and seek game and once the hider is found they are possessed and the game continues - and the characters are from Disney's Haunted House
Did you know the Ghosts floating around are voiced by Elizabeth from The Charismatic Voice?? Also, The original song is in Korean and is about a girl who is possessed and is hunting down a boy to possess him next.
Geoff's subharmonic at the end makes me so happy and I have no idea why it sounds so smooth and beefy ( believe it's a C#1 possibly) Anyways great video loved the rant where you walked around you desk was hilarious
Congratulations on getting your home. May you make many memories for many years and enjoy. Thank you for your reaction to VoicePlay’s video. They have once again created a fun filled excellent video. So many gems to listen for also, that you end up afterwards with a spooky ear worm, LOL.
All the characters are from the Haunted Mansion in Disney Park rides. Geoff is Silas Crump, the cemetery Caretaker; Layne is the Hatbox Ghost; Cesar is Madame Leota in the Crystal Ball; Eli is Alexander Nitrokoff (standing on a box of dynamite. Hence, his "Boom!") from the stretching room poster (on the wall behind him), and Lauren is Constance Hathaway, the Ghost Bride. Did you hear Eli say "hello" when they sing "Knock, knock! I'm inside your room now (Eli's Hello)"? It's very quick! Plus, the Charismatic Voice lends her voice with the many ghosts flying around.
yaaaaaaay! congrats to you and Mortimiss! (I also apologize if that is misspelled lol). Also, wonderful green screen effect and especially wonderful editing from Mason, you successfully made me smirk when you did the fake intro o7. Hope your new house is a blessing, take care!
It's so fun when you meltdown, and Mason adds to the humor. You two are a great team. Congratulations on getting into your house! The standing/sitting desk is great. Had one at my last job and loved it. We heard Elizabeth G in Frozen and Greatest Showman, and finally saw her in Hall of the Mountain King. Now that we've heard Elizabeth Z (Charismatic Voice) I'm hoping we'll see her in a future video, too.
Love, love, love the reaction! So much fun. Loved you walking around the room. Too cute. This is an insanely good arrangement and yes, the lyrics are sooo, so dark.
Finally in your house!🏚🏠🏡 I'm so happy for you - and for this reaction as well.♥️♥️♥️

So happy to see you in such a good mood! And I'm looking forward to the video editing shenanigans you and Mason come up with. The pacing around the camera with your voice following you had me laughing so hard...
Congrats on the house!! I love that you’re now able to just pace offscreen and then appear on the other side, literally just walking in circles! This is an amazing song by Voiceplay, and I can’t wait to see what else they do, as well as your reactions to them!
That audio panning was so weird when you walked off but honestly, I kind of liked it because it was unusual xD. Great reaction as always mortius and congratulations on finally moving into your new place!!💜
props to your editor. super cool job on this one with the audio. was a fun video, but the fun at the beginning and then the moving audio when you were walking around the cam, cool
Ohh your facial expressions were something else. There was from what I've heard actually a sixth singer in the vid, Elizabeth Zarhof (The Charismatic Voice) who voiced the ghosts towards the end. I've also heard that Lauren Paley is going to be doing this song with the Bass Gang as well.
I actually really LOVE the standing thing. Your energy with the freedom to move reminds me of ME on things like this. LOL. Also, you just set off my giggle mode when you were doing the circular pacing around the screen. I think the ability to move helps you a lot. :) Also, it's awesome to see you so happy again! Lauren's high note in here I think was an Eb6 (or somewhere up there!). She's such an amazing soprano. I'm down here with you around the 4th octave (and my 5th octave is just ICK!). I can't imagine reaching way up to the 6th like she does! The Stairwell Siren certainly lives up to her reputation. 😂 This whole piece made my ADHD so happy. There's just SO MUCH going on at one time from all of them, and it's awesome. ❤️
Playing this on a small side screen, when you started walking around the camera I literally looked up and around to see if someone was pacing around my work station XD
Congrats on the house!! Mortius is back, indeed!! Two minor things- Lauren is the "StairWELL Siren", and did you notice the closing music under the "Hurry Back" was a rearranged opening of "Grim Grinning Ghosts"?
I love your analysis of this song. You always manage to point out a few things in your reactions that I hadn't even noticed. It's fun because I can hear the songs differently and learn new things. I also love your reactions and genuine enjoyment of the videos you watch. The background of this song is very creepy. The seeker is a possessed little girl chasing a boy. When she catches the boy the evil spirit kills her as it leaves before possessing the boy who will go on to play with another child. It's unknown how long the cycle has been going on. There's also video games where you can play as the seeker or the kid hiding based on this song.
Awesome reaction and analysis as always! Congratulations on the new house. Looking forward to hearing your vocal demonstrations now that you have the standing desk. Great job to all involved! Thank you.
The pacing while talking was hilarious, but the headphone effect with your voice travelling from left to right as you walked? Give Mason some big kudos, I died of laughter 😂
Been waiting excitingly for your reaction. Also not yet watched it all but making the comment before I forget. I do musical theatre and although I can walk with my crutches it's easier for the dancing for me to be in my wheelchair. I tell people how much harder it is singing sitting down. I have lost some of my high notes now. Just chuffed I found a school that can work with me, I also started tap this year in my chair, for some moves I tap with feet for others I have a board on my chair and taps sewn onto my gloves. In acting I use my crutches as its easier.
Loved your reaction. I have been looking for it for a while. Congrats on the new house and what a coincidence I will be moving into my new house on Oct. 31st. I can’t wait.
Super late to this, but that circle the camera/mic with sound while mortius paces and rants. I couldn't stop giggling! The editor must've had a field day with this.😂
Extremely early! Also first! Been loving these reaction/analysis videos so much! Thank you for these and congrats on the new house! Keep up the amazing work Mortius
Waaait...did you just say this is the most characterful VoicePlay has been in a while when they all just were characters in In the Hall of Mountain King? All the ding dongs in this songs must have erased that part of your memory. 😉😉
You should definitely look into annapantsu. She's an amazing singer with such a wide range and great personality in her voice. Her latest cover of "The Ballad of Jane Doe" is especially amazing. I'm sure you'd appreciate it.
Grate video and reaction soo fun, love your genioun energy and exsitement!:) But i wounder do you have some sort of dac/amplifyer on your headphones? Because that enhance/ ditaling the music so much, and i think you would find it fun to lissen how the song wil sound then, because all those small detailes does become more ditaled and forwarded:) Just a little tip if you are intereressted:)
