The Decathlon 1.2m RJG is such an enjoyable model for scale aerobatics, some 3D maneuvers, and sport flying. The E-flite® Decathlon RJG 1.2m is one of the most capable and best-handling models of the iconic aerobatic trainer ever! It’s a replica of the Decathlon that RJ Gritter (RJG) flies in airshows across the United States and sports a classic yet modernized red, white, and blue trim scheme. It also features a variety of scale details including functional LED landing and navigation lights, wheel pants, and wing struts. The one-piece wing is easy to install and remove thanks to hands-free connections and thumbscrews, and the struts snap into/out of place without the need for any fasteners or tools - though it’s already conveniently sized to be easy to store and transport without disassembly! Digital and metal-geared servos along with ball-link equipped linkages provide precise and reliable control for smooth sport to aggressive aerobatic flying. The 3S and 4S compatible power system features a 45-amp Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC, and the BNF® Basic version is equipped with an AR631 receiver to deliver real-time telemetry data along with AS3X® and optional-use SAFE® Select plus motor/thrust reversing. All these details and features combine to deliver a very convenient and extremely capable scale model that’s a great choice for low-time and intermediate to experienced pilots!

Helluva pilot, that Ali Machinchy! And that sure is one capable Decathlon! I don't understand how on earth that thing can fly for over 10 minutes of such spirited flying on just a 2200mAh 4S. And even at the end of the video, after 10 minutes and 25 seconds of flying, Ali was STILL flying? I mean how? This new Decathlon must have the most efficient power system I've ever seen. Even hotliners run out of juice faster than this. Not sure how you guys managed to get so much out of it, but nice work!

Very nice. wow that was a long flight for that battery... I love mine 3 flights only so far still playing with CG and just increased my elevator throw last night excited to see how it does now.

It wasn't! Fortunately it wasn't being pushed all that hard (10 minutes = an average discharge rate of 6C)...though there wasn't much capacity left :)

Does the landing gear bend if coming to a sudden stop on longer grass?

I have one , they are a light spring type hardened steel an been flying 30 or so yrs an never seen these type landing gear , mainly aluminum , I've had several nose in an very hard landings , on those type landings they will bend somewhat but not bad, I bended them back by hand or crescent wrench etc.
