In this weeks video Dan and Todd install a set of Performance Pack 6 piston Brembo calipers and 15 inch rotors onto our 2005 S197. While we were at it, we also installed a new master cylinder and brake booster! This project threw some extra challenges our way, but so far we love the result!

big fan here, you guys are doing an amazing job with this mustang, cant wait to see the final product, will you guys boost this stang with a turbocharger?

Not sure there will ever be a final product hahahaha We are constantly toying with the idea of power adders or an engine swap but have never settled on a direction. Let us know what you want to see happen on this car!

@@morrismartinracing I myself own a 3V, and I am eager to witness the extent to which you can push the capabilities of this engine, love your content!!

So many people nowadays go coyote swap. But they are $$$. You can literally buy a 3V long block, stroke, and forge it for the cost of a coyote swap. 3V’s are cheap and plentiful. Many road racers frown upon forced induction, but an inter-cooled centrifugal supercharger does not add that much heat. Nothing comparable to a roots/eaton style supercharger or turbo setup. I need to make the jump to the 6 piston Brembo’s. Great video!

Question: I have 2007 s197 with the long soft throw brake pedal problem, did the braided lines, new pads cycling the ABS module with only slight improvement. I want to fix that before I add my 4 piston Brembo kit. So a (what year and model) vacuum booster change along with its corresponding MC would give quick and hard brake pedal?

We are currently working on a solution to the same problem on our S197. In general terms, a larger (than stock) diameter brake Master Cylinder will result in increased pedal pressure. The booster plays less of role in this as we are finding out. We are currently trying to retrofit a Brake Master Cylinder from a S550 with performance pack brakes onto our S197 booster. Not an easy swap but we have seen it done in the past. Will more than likely make a new video once we solve the issue for ourselves.

what about the rear ? any cool looking caliper for the rear ? to match the looks. I am being looking for one but no luck
@morrismartinracing
@morrismartinracing 11 месяцев назад
There are aftermarket caliper options but nothing from Ford (at least that I’m aware of). The bigger diameter rotors and upgraded pads are plenty good for upgrading rear breaking.

@@morrismartinracing yeah I am aware of the performance, I am just looking for a good looking caliper, the stock ones are kinda ugly

Hard to find....maybe CJ pony or American Muscle Big Brake Brembo Kit....I got the Front 6 Piston Brembo, also looking for a 4 Piston Rear

Yeah is crazy haha! I saw a guy making a custom plate for wilwood calipers! which is cool but he use an explore 8.8 rear diff ! Idk if thats the same as our mustangs @@michaeltabanao8092

did this fix the pedal mush of the 1st half of pressing?
@morrismartinracing

@Slowtreme, no it did not. We are going to attempt a S550 Booster/Master Cylinder swap to get the bigger bore and let everyone know how it goes.

Are you guys planning on selling the old 4 piston calipers? If so I might be interested for my 3v

To start with you sound like you just had a brake bias problem

You are correct, we chose to swap to a less-aggressive pad rather than add proportioning valve.
