2024 is my first-year racing KCR Solo. I sold my 2006 Mustang GT to my brother last winter. I saw your car two events ago during my work assignment and told my brother about how sweet it is. Does it still have the 4.6 3V for a powerplant? If not, what is it currently running?
Hey guys! Nice videos about something what I wanna do the next time. Parts are ordered right now and I am waiting for shipment. 😉 But I‘ll go for the Torsen T2 without R. I think it’s better for my „only street season Mustang“. I just drive around from April till October on normal streets. But one part is not ordered yet. The oil. Which one do you fill in the differential? The stock oil for the clutch differential? And do you use the additive which is recommended by Ford Performance for this diff? Greetings from Germany and thanks for your answer!
We installed this according the instructions as well as the video posted by American Muscle. Its possible that other aftermarket driveshafts have the boot in the rear but we are fairly confident we got this one right... you did get me to double check though. lol
No need to get the engine tuned again. Just drops weight from the driveline which reduces parasitic loss. Allows you to put more of your power directly to the ground which is the goal!

Could y’all do a video on you hood vent set up and if you’ve seen benefit from it? Or if you’ve done one could you link it. Love seeing the setup videos, has definitely helped with my s197 build.
We did that build prior to starting our RU-vid channel, but that's a great idea! I'll add it to the list of future videos. We can definitely go over the build and the benefits from it.
You can now run 9.0@150 without a cage with a 2014 and newer. My buddy actually pulled his cage from his 2013 because he could go faster without it which is crazy. If your not doing a full cage with halo then it's not worth putting in the 6 point unless you just want it for looks.
Just want to say I love the content you guys put out. Nothing like watching you guys wrench on your 3v on a sunday morning while in my garage! Please continue with the content as theres not alot of it on youtube!
Question: I have 2007 s197 with the long soft throw brake pedal problem, did the braided lines, new pads cycling the ABS module with only slight improvement. I want to fix that before I add my 4 piston Brembo kit. So a (what year and model) vacuum booster change along with its corresponding MC would give quick and hard brake pedal?
We are currently working on a solution to the same problem on our S197. In general terms, a larger (than stock) diameter brake Master Cylinder will result in increased pedal pressure. The booster plays less of role in this as we are finding out. We are currently trying to retrofit a Brake Master Cylinder from a S550 with performance pack brakes onto our S197 booster. Not an easy swap but we have seen it done in the past. Will more than likely make a new video once we solve the issue for ourselves.
We can test this but it could possibly lead to a hyper-flash situation. Car is currently packed away in winter storage but will conduct some testing when we get her out for the next project.
He’s wearing a blues shirt, you guys near the St. Louis area? I just got the kit off eBay from a guy. Everything was there except the caliper bolts and the crush washers.
We are both from the KCMO area but Todd is currently living in the STL area. Dan is the blues fan oddly enough. You should easily be able to source the missing parts online, good luck with the install!
@@morrismartinracing gotcha. Thanks, after doing some further research I guess the master cylinder from the stock GT cars are insufficient? Sucks.. I thought it was just good enough to do the caliper swap. I don’t race it, just wanted the Brembo bling
Several online forums talk about the yellow dot on the driveshaft being placed in line with a similar factory dot on the pinion flange. Did you see dots on both? Is this something you’ve heard about? Thanks.
We did not take note of any markings on the new driveshaft but its entirely possible we missed it. Nothing was noted in the instructions as another commenter already mentioned.
That is correct, the Brembo brake upgrade also included a 1-1/16” bore Master Cylinder. Stayed tuned, we are working on a S550 MC conversion for the S197. We are using Hawk HP600 brake fluid. We haven’t had an issue with it but it hasn’t seen much track time since the brake swap.
Yooooo thanks man! Your radio delete panel is great! Please watch some of our newer content, we aren’t good but we are better than this lol thanks for watching!
No videos currently but we are going to be rebuilding the front splitter over the off season so stay tuned for more info on those things!! Thanks for watching, don’t forget to subscribe!!
Sorry to hear about your issue. We have not experienced that with our new driveshaft. recheck your install and also make sure you can see where the manufacturer balanced the driveshaft with a small plate welded on one end
Front: Whiteline 33mm Adjustable sway bar Rear: S197 V6 pony package sway bar all mods are listed here for future reference: www.morrismartinracing.com/cars
There are aftermarket caliper options but nothing from Ford (at least that I’m aware of). The bigger diameter rotors and upgraded pads are plenty good for upgrading rear breaking.
Yeah is crazy haha! I saw a guy making a custom plate for wilwood calipers! which is cool but he use an explore 8.8 rear diff ! Idk if thats the same as our mustangs @@michaeltabanao8092
Im looking to swap to aftermarket headlights and im considering these vland ones or staying with the original style with halos. As a question how do these look at night as thats my biggest concern. Are the low/high beams as good as the original ones?
Awesome car, looks you are having a great time autocrossing it 👍. S197 sounds so good, whats the engine and exhaust specs on your car ? Currently own a trackday miata, but consider build a S197 in future, whats the time differences between a miata ( non turbo ) and your mustang on the same track ? Keep up your good woork / 👋 from Sweden
Never been to Nats. Think you could put together a video on what to expect for n00bs, pointers on items to bring, not to bring, nice to have/but not essential? Hope you guys had fun...quite frankly both of you seemed exhausted the whole time except for the beer run!
We will add that to our list of future videos, thanks for the suggestion! We just competed at our second Nationals event so we probably aren’t the most qualified but that hasn’t stopped us for making content yet!!
