Thanks for your loving the disco 3 and the owners. It helps me to understand more and more my lovely car. Beside i drive also a xj 12, 6.0 majestic. Both cars are extreme durable. Be blessed.

Thanks for the videos, the more I watch this sort of videos, the more confident I feel getting a disco 3/4. Just one thought, cover the positive of your battery if you work with spanners close by, :) especially if the negative is still connected. In your video, the spanner is short and may not reach the positive, but could still be nasty if someone does it with a longer one.

Great video my son's gone in limp mode so we're going to try the w40 then see what happens then and see what pops up after that 😆😆 I've got a p38 range Rover with less things going wrong than my son's disco

Rather than wd40 I’d suggest a lubricant spray with ptfe or graphite additive so the evaporation of the spray leaves the additive behind and doesn’t leave you where you started with sticking parts

I have Range Rover Sport with 2.7 TDV6, i want change the fuel presure sensor but i can´t find it. It is not in the same place like in video, there is just plug and the same on the other side. I found some sensore look exactly the same in the back of the engine ( in center under the wind shield ) ant its stick in something similar to the fuel rail. You thing its it?

Changed mine for a Delphi one, as was getting limp mode on and off, new sensor was fine until I floored it and on hills goes in to limp mode everytime. The sensor was not cheap £60 so surprised its causing an issue.

before changing the fuel rail pressure sensor did you have to wait for the fuel pump to stop priming before cranking the engine over?
@LRLiveUK
@LRLiveUK 6 месяцев назад
I did let it prime and then checked the valve at the top of the engine. No hesitation in starting.

@LRLiveUK okay cool, thanks. I was just wondering if you let it primed first, like how i do before cranking. And yeah, mine starts the same.

Im having issues with limp mode but only after the engine is warm. Turn off engine and back on again fault clears for a minute or 2 then limp mode again. Amy ideas. Does throw up p0183 and few other fuel related ones.

I'd check the steering angle alignment with diagnostic tool. And change the fuel rail pressure sensor.

Hi thanks for sharing your experiences. My Discovery 3 went into limp mode at the same time as the 3 Amigo warning light, so I replaced the fuel filter, but there was no change, so I replaced the rail pressure sensor, and all the symptoms disappeared...yeh~~~ But just two days later, all the symptoms came back.😢( limp mode & unstable at idle(engine vibrates) p0087 p2290 Two error codes appeared alternately. Both do not appear at the same time Any advice is greatly appreciated.
@LRLiveUK

Sounds like an issue with the fuel pump unfortunately. You can do a pressure test from the valve at the top of the engine in the V towards the back.

@@LRLiveUK As expected, your thoughts are the same as mine. I think that's the only question left, whether low pressure or high pressure is the problem. Thanks for your reply 👍.

Isn't WD40 flammable?
@LRLiveUK
@LRLiveUK 10 месяцев назад
You need to allow the lube to penetrate over a few hours, so you won't be running the engine during that time. Then it'll dry out.👍
