From what I’ve read, Red Lights, which is written by both, is about their obsession towards their work; Bang Chan as a producer/composer and Hyunjin with his dancing and how they can’t let go.

The korean title of this song is translated as “Compulsion” meanwhile the English title of the song is Red Lights. Bang Chan (leader/producer) and Hyunjin (main dancer/lead rapper) wrote and composed this song. It’s 1 of 3 unit songs, they broke into units between each member and created their own songs as presents for the fans. Stray Kids are known to create music to be interpreted in the audience’s perspectives, where we’re able to relate to the song with our own experiences. So when they say “You” it could be anything. It could be interpreted in somebody else’s version of their obsession in their lives. In the context for Chan & Hyunjin though, the lyrics seem to relate to an obsession over their work. Chan’s lyric “I cannot breathe without you being right by my side, I'll die” may talk about his passion for music. Bc during their first full length album release last year, he was asked what producing meant to him & the way he compared it was like writing, composing, etc is like breathing and eating to him. He doesn’t have to think of it as work. It comes naturally to him. If he doesn’t have music he’ll die you know because it’s life to him. Chan’s also a perfectionist. So once he starts something he has to finish it or get it done no matter how exhausted he is. It’s kind of like having this toxic relationship or bad habit but you have this compulsion to work until you’re satisfied. He knows he shouldn’t overwork himself, and he’s trying to escape this need to but can’t. Chan & Hyunjin are also the most sexualized members in the group, so comparing this to bdsm using chains/shibari in my opinion is such an artistic & creative way to portray feeling trapped but also finding pleasure in what they do. I noticed I rambled on about Chan and not Hyunjin lol he’s the same way but with his passion for dance.

Yay! I’m so thankful to see people praising the boys. People on Twitter were not very kind to hyunjin about this last dance, so it heals my heart to see the support and praise! I would recommend watching more if hyunjin and stray kids dances, I’m sure people more knowledgeable about his dancing will give you examples in the comments!

The deeper meaning of Red Lights is about their selves and how they struggled with their own thoughts and anxiety. Although they love doing what they do being obsessed or passionate about their work (writing music, dancing, etc.) despite them being exhausted and staying up late at the end there's nothing they can do because they love what they we're doing. So technically, no one can stop them even their self. But like Chan said, it depends on how you decipher it. Hyunjin AOTM is really amazing, he showed his stronger self in that performance and he really worked hard on it. Btw you guys are so funny 😂

They're talking about their obsession with work. Hyunjin with his dancing and Chan with his producing. The song and the mv has a lot of hidden meanings and double meanings and it's really interesting to watch. And yes, this song is co written and co composed by them. So they do unit songs every now and then - members grouped together to compose a song. They also decide whatever genres they feel. With Chan and Hyunjin's song, they wanted to create something sexy or sensual but actually has a deeper meaning. It's about their obsession with their work that most of the time they can't stop. That's where Red Lights was born. Other unit songs were a love song and a Summer feel vibe. You can search SKZ Song Camp episodes to better understand the journey of how each unit was able to come up with their own style and song.

Love your reaction. The most shipped couples are Han and Lee Know and Felix and Changbin. In my view the most member shipped with every member is Felix, 2nd most shipped member to other members is Hyunjin. Bang Chan and Hyunjin were never really shipped much before this song released. Stray Kids as a whole decided to do unit songs so they broke up into 3 units and each unit created a new song that was put on to their newest album as b side tracks. because produces and writes their own music it is not to uncommon for them to do unit songs or solo songs. They are the only k-pop group that gives their fans so much content including songs, interviews, cover songs, or dance covers, games. This song is about compulsive, obsessed love behavior which could be a love of anything like work, or a relationship.

I have no words, the song and video are amazing, I love that they both made it together and hyunjin’s performance is my favorite male aotm, there’s something different about this guy, he has the dancing skills, authentic charisma and emotion and the looks, cause lets be real, as much as we are all about body positive ( which we should be! ), we can’t deny that having a well proportioned body is a huge advantage, the movements and lines read so much better, more clean, open, grandiose and powerful. They’re talking about obsession. One is obsessed with writing/composing music, he suffers from insomnia and anxiety. The other is the same way about training/dancing. They both understand being ‘addicted’ and obsessed with something. That’s what the song means.

You say you want to see dance practice hmm...its pretty much a guarantee that for every performance there is a making of/ behind the scenes/ dance practice video as well. For the AOTM there was a Choreo Record which shows him learning and perfecting the dance & the actual shooting of it.
