I resonated a lot with this. Recording narration is definitely my least favourite part of the video-making process. Writing > researching > editing >>>(powergap)>>> narration. I absolutely love this medium, but when I'm on the third take of a sentence I can't manage to pronounce properly, it gets quite frustrating. Working up the motivation to open audacity is the biggest mental block for me. Big fan of the new direction with this channel, by the way.
This is partially why I don't make video essays: I like writing and analyzing media but I don't want to appear on camera and I feel too self conscious about my accent so even just recording voiceovers is out.
When I was a teen I used so much energy thinking about what other people think. It just now when I look back I can see how dum that was. But I take time to learn how to be comfortable in your own skin. You have to find people who like you for you and then, filter the rest out you know
