Oh, I've came across with that while responding to an incident. The attacker was trying to create a scheduled task which exposes a port for persistence
By default you set it to "domain, private, and public" but let's say my host machine and other devices is connected to the same network, private is enough right? But when i tried to access it, it didn't work unless i make public available.
Good question, if all interfaces are assigned the same profile it should work I think, but then it might also be that additional rules block something on private/domain profile. Might need some debugging.
Can you please explain to me what is the saturn you typed in the browser? Is this a custom defined protocol to connect to your machine? and how can I do the same? Thank you!
@aitboss85 the most simple way to do this without dns is to just add the name you want (ie saturn) and the IP address to your hosts file. Of course, if this is a private IP it will only work on that network unless you have additional things set up
