NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING FOR THIS SONG BUT IM STILL OBSESSED OKAY

i can trust perfume genius to give me something so utterly original that it seems to come from another bizarre world we haven't yet reached

this is incredible. honestly, it perfectly encapsulates how it feels to have to keep spending all my time on schoolwork in quarantine while i watch the world keep almost-burning around me.

After actually paying attention to the lyrics I realize the most tragic moment in the video is actually the part where the pig man has that "party" in the car with his friends. "All that time spent perfecting my look, now there's nobody around, gone the minute I stepped out and looked around." It's all in his head. The cake says the title, Some Dream, because this is the pig man's fantasy, only to find himself alone and disappointed when his plans fall through. At the end, the pig man embraces his true nature as a pig, bringing home the message that he found happiness when he gave up wasting his whole life trying to sell an illusion to people that weren't even there.

This album is one of the best album i ever listened to.

I for one am grateful this archival footage of my stepdad from when I was a 14yo living in FL was recovered and shared... Bonus: he turned into Mike.
