Cartier bottles are a thing of beauty and I love l'envol. The bottle is based on something from an aeroplane as a tribute to pilot Alberto Santos-dumont (of cartier santos fame)

Oh my Gosh, you'll soon have a collection to rival Ami Loves Perfumes! L'Envol's dry down smells too piercing on me in the EDT formulation, wouldn't you know it lasted forever, and I have some samples of the EDP which I wasn't keen to test based on earlier Toilette horror, so I'll try it now inspired by you. Regarding the book, I've noticed Tania Sanchez is often overlooked when people quote the reviews but she wrote quite a few of the really pithy ones! Love this video, quick reviews and unboxing and diamonds all in one! Excited for this new series about your perfume journey. (Any secret codes from the future's past in the packaging?)
Dorf it's a Sanchez review for L'Envol EDP, she says she wears it herself and it's a hybrid of cocoa/woody oriental and fruity fougere, with a "durable" wood and incense dry down of "exquisite pallid grey beauty" 4 stars
I have only tried Pampelune which I enjoyed greatly. All of these sounds gorgeous but I am particularly envious of the Cartier in that glorious bottle. I think it is always more rewarding to buy direct from the house - probably it is a vain hope to think the perfume will be fresher. Enjoy your goblin treasures!!!
First of all, Barbara Sinatra called...she wants her doorknob rock ring back! Harry Winston, tell me all about it!!! The difficulty with any book of reviews (along with RU-vid) is the fact that everything is subjective. What I may like, you might not. What works on your skin turns to vinegar on mine, etc etc. Kudos to Mr. Turin and Ms. Sanchez for putting their necks on the block and publishing their thoughts...we are always free to disagree. Golly, I do love a Cartier bottle! I'm happy to see that they are still putting some effort into designing a unique bottle for each of their fragrances, as opposed to other houses that use a different label for their scents (Yeah, I'm looking at you Guerlain!) I'll just say that the Allegorica line is definitely interesting to explore. Some are fantastic; others not so much. L'envol is a fantastic scent. Maybe not the masterpiece--I like Pasha and Eau just a bit more...that's just me though! On the topic of bottles, Bvlgari has some fantastic bottles, though I have to say the bottles in the Acqua line are just irritating! I like the juice in some of them (Acqua Amara and the original are great) but those wobbly bottles....ugh. Is that your "new" Chanel watch? It looks great, if it is!!! xoxox
