carved oud such a beautiful fragrance. imo, this is what oud wood should have evolved into. this is the only 'clone' fragrance that i prefer to the orignal. and this is coming from someone that owned oud wood in the past!
Yet again, incredibly well thought through and brilliantly articulated. And I heard the words I've been longing to hear for, well, ever... I think you really ought to "fix this". I could of course be wrong, but I should imagine that doing so might be a tiny step outside of the philosophy you typically thrive and excel within, but I also believe - personally - there's a genuine art to taking something as a foundation from which you build a thing of great beauty. I personally hope that perspective will gain traction in your thoughts, and move through that creative cycle of pre-contemplation, to contemplation and then to planning and then action..

Estée Lauren standard practice, they spent 2.6 B in acqusition to then dilute the quality of the brand. I think Thameem Carved Oud is a way more reasonably priced alternative w great longevity and it was made for the same reason you want to do it, great DNA that is badly managed by the company.
I always love how you can bring up the shortcomings of a fragrance without actually bashing it. You still have this amazing scent the respect it deserves, but also pointed out the ways it falls short of the potential it could be. I think that’s why I appreciate your craftsmanship in each fragrance (even if each isn’t my cup of tea) so much
I just got my hard candy in the mail and I have over 50 fragrances and this is probably my favorite Fragrance. I reached out to you a couple days ago and you had said to me that the fever series was already shipped out to Max Aroma I really hope that’s the case so The people who appreciate the work and patience are able to pick it up. Hopefully that pallet you sent out wasn’t retracted

@@trumpameri1638 "Better" is subjective surely? They don't smell anything like each other anyway. The MFK is saffron heavy, and the TF is all about the cardamom.

Thanks for a smashing review! Your content is so helpful. This fragrance is a real gem, it features many of my favorite notes. I'm afraid you were right, the EDP's performance is quite disappointing, perhaps I'll consider the parfum as an enhancement.
My 100ml Oud Wood edp I bought in late 2020 is a super strong and moster projecting on me. I can get up to 16 hours of wear and still smell it strong. Maybe I lucked up and got a strong batch before a more recent reformulation 🤔 Will definitely try out the Parfum though. Great review!
I think you should make a fragrance like oud wood,but make it strong and radiance,I find it hard for fragrances to radiate of my skin and i dont have any tattoos lol
If you develop this fragrance to project and deliver better performance, I would definitely buy it i own oud wood, and I agree the smoothness is beautiful, but the performance is shocking. Another absolutely brilliant review !
Aaron, I know you’re generally against releasing your own versions of other original creations but these big brands are absolutely ripping us off with reformulations and flankers. Look forward to your release of Oud Wood, the way it should have been all along.
Few months back walked into a Victoria Secret smelled the only sample body mist bottle of cedar breeze, a rosemary cedar combo, no stock in store and none to be had on their website. They would not let me buy the half bottle of display sample. Fast forward today. Walking downtown smelled someone ahead of me with the most aromatic scent, this same one l have been obsessing over but with way more projection. I had to stop the lad wearing this gorgeous frag and ask him what he had on. It was the parfume version with the rosemary and he showed me the pic on his phone. Other people came up to me asking what he had on, it was this. I am all in if you can produce your version of this. I have several of Tom Fords frags but the scent trail on this one on a very warm summer day was absolutely head turning stunning and delicious.
Aaron please do your version. That would be a best seller. I love Oud Wood, but I purchased Craved Oud instead; its stronger and extrait concentration, too.
i’d be super interested in reviews of the brand dusita. i love her fragrances but they’re super expensive and it would be helpful to know if they’re “worth it” from a raw materials perspective

I had such bad luck with Tom Ford and I really wanted to like them. I can't say I smelled all of them but certainly most, and I haven't found one that I felt was not overwhelming. This is coming from someone whose favorite perfumes are Initio Side Effect and PDM Layton, ie. not lightweights. Actually, I did find one, Beau de Jure, which I liked a lot but it was too close to Davidoff's Zino, which I have a ton of already.
Please fix Oud Wood. As a small business owner, I’d buy it from company like yours- a company with someone’s heart put into it, opposed to a profit generating monstrosity. It could be a game changer: that one product-line that changed everything. I saw your review of Carved Oud; my opinion is that when a company doesn’t treat their customers correctly, another company will. That is one of the fundamental principles of business. The new-generation CEOs of large companies only think about short-term profit at the expense of their customers, resulting in long-term failure. And they do it to themselves. And they deserve it, as do the customers deserve a product worth paying that much money for. Keep up the excellent work!
It's difficult, Aaron. I love Oud Wood and I have a lot of your fragrances, which is relevant because you can really smell that they're ATH fragrances. Your signature is so clear. So while I would certainly buy an Oud Wood fixed by you, Oud Noir is simply a masterpiece. I've not smelt Oud but it's guaranteed that's a beautiful fragrance too. Point is, while I would love an ATH Oud Wood, your own fragrances, with the ATH DNA, are as good/better imo. Though obviously not the same, I reach for Oud Noir more than I reach for Oud Wood
ATH Oud Wood as I've said before will take the top spot once it has been constructed and make the Tom Ford formulas obsolete, I'm very excited for it especially after being so disappointed in the longevity of the EDP, The scent itself is A++ just lacks that oomph especially for how much you pay for it.

@JLT3ch I tried both. Mana is quite unpalatable for me, quite pungent smoky and animalic. Nefs is much more wearable in the vain of jazz club by M.M. Margiela with a bit more nuance. Both are extremely overpriced. I like ANI and I'm yet to try Hundred silent ways.
Just bought it on ebay for $300 (The seller didn't like it) and it's exactly how you described. I paired it with nasomotto pardon and all I can say is "damn".
The 50 ml for several hundred of ANY frag is a joke for fools. This is a grift the perfume industry has adapted since Covid and unlike other scammers with fuel and food, I don’t need the newest juice. I prefer to spend my cash elsewhere and will continue to smell fantastic, just as I have since my 8th grade dance when my dad first sprayed me with Pierre Cardin. 😂
He's the best marketing guy for Tom Ford. "Now I'm getting what I want for a $300 (Approx) frangance" after spraying 2 x seperate frangrances for $600 (Approx) on the arm : ) Love your work. Seriously though coming from a perfumer, Tom Ford needs to take the hint. Spoiler Alert - The "unverified" Oud actually comes from Billy bobs backyard stump grinding and is actually OAK !!!!

The Estée Lauder Companies’ Tom Ford brand has a poor sustainability record due to the continued use of plastics and animal testing, which are completely unacceptable practices today. Aaron, please address these formulation issues, and I will purchase a few bottles from you!!
I like oud wood, and a few other TFs, but the price is keeping me from buying it. I only got Black Orchid edp and Noir Extreme edp. Contemplating to buy Tuscan Leather but the price on that is also 😒
If you release similar Parfume like oud wood , same fragrance same formula I am going to buy 10 bottles at once, I know you will do a much better job with pricing and formula itself, I love Oud Wood Parfume but still 4 years back formula was brilliant and next level
Sadly even if I run out of my og oud wood I still wouldn't buy the parfum version. Myrrhe mystere is one of the fragrances I absolutely adore from the brand but I would never buy it because the price is just too steep (maybe because I'm not even of the brand's intended customers lmao).
@aaron what you are not getting is marketing part of the story. TF is creating a flagship plot by bumping up the price. Or hype. This is typical of large companies. The goal is not to sell that much of it, but make a statement. This is TF, it's luxury, it's up there with niche stuff, we are TF, we don't need to explain what's in it, it's something you drool over. This is what many do, and i promise, it works. Unfortunately...

Can you clarify if Creed's Royal Oud perfume was out of stock for a while because of a change in caps or if it was discontinued? I had this doubt after a video of yours about Royal Oud.
