Hello Friends. We are aware there is a duplicate, scam account with my face picture commenting. They are asking people to contact them via Whatsapp. I will NEVER ask you for information or to contact you personally! We are in the process or reprting them! Many applogies!
Aaron, I left a comment for you on fragmental. I wanted to let you know that I lost my wife to cancer and went to a very dark place. After finding you on youtube. I started to come out of my hole. You are so passionate and seem like such a genuine person. I have 8 of your fragrances and all of them are amazing. I wanted you to know that you and your fragrances helped me through the roughest time of my life. Thank you for such amazing fragrances and helping me be a lasting scent memory for others and myself. Much love from America
I truly appreciate your honesty and passion. Your content is truly necessary, even for experienced frag heads like myself. My issue with this line is that they are expensive and do not last.
I love that Aaron has become more comfortable in front of the camera, more comfortable expressing himself and translating what's going on in his head to us, the viewer. At first, I could relate very well bc I don't know much about the art/science of perfumery, just that I love perfume. But now, the aesthetic is much more warm and inviting...not just cold and scientific. Well done Aaron, thank you! I also love this scent. I was a little miffed when I first smelled it bc it smelled too much like the original to warrant all the hype for me. But the more I wore it, the more differences I picked out. They are subtle, but there are differences. But I think the biggest thing is, this was YSL's answer to LNDL being much maligned for poor performance. I'm ok with that, I'll definitely wear this over the current formulation of the original, I just wish it wasn't discontinued
Loved this review! I really wanted you to do a review on this one! And not the “Eau” Electrique. I aswell thought you had confused the two! Bleu Electrique is amaaaazing! So happy to own it 💯
I am pretty new to the fragrance world, however i think its really caught my attention. I just think its a beautiful artform. I can imagine someone not wanting a fragrance to project a lot, but i dont think anyone actually wants a fragrance to last 3h at most. The minimum a fragrance should last is 6 to 8 hours, but you should be able to still smell it on you, not like a skin scent, but rather on your personal bubble, leaving sillage and people still being able to smell you
@@keep_walking_on_grass sure, but then you have to have a travel atomizer, i think you should apply a fragrance and not spend time thinking when you are going to stop smelling good
I stumbled upon your channel as I started to look into some reviews of some fragrances I I was interested in, I love your videos because I could feel the passion in the way you analyze every fragrance and makes me feel less weird about my nose and helps me embrace my heightened sense of smell, people criticize me because of how sensitive I am to smells but I can't help it, my nose isn't even close to how trained and refined yours is but still it makes me feel less alone to see someone appreciate a good smell. I'd appreciate it so much if you could make a video where you list your favorite fragrances for men of all-time, specially fragrances for men between 25 - 35. thank you for your content !
Great review - Never considered this frag to be good for the Summer. Copied you and sprayed Animalix under my bottle and compared. Makes a clear difference to performance!
Another great review. I have the original la nuit de lhomme so I didn't see the need to buy bleu electrique but now I'm thinking I should've bought it.
Arron I think longevity is the second most important thing these days, first being of course great smell. That's why I instantly bought your 'Tabac' and 'Forbidden'. I think they are your beefiest most robust fragrances, the sillage for forbidden is crazy, I got so many compliments from it. I think people truly miss great, long lasting fragrances and not some kinda pissy water that disappears after 2 hours. Keep creating man!
New subscriber here, Aaron, I find your reviews amazing. Omar on School of Scent talks about you all the time and I've caught you on Frag-mental as well. It's wonderful to get your take on different scents and houses, I appreciate your honesty and knowledge. Consider me hooked!
Great review Aaron 👌 I was shocked that it's getting discontinued already 😮 have no idea why 🤔 I would gladly pay more, if they would really work more on longevity and projection, because it's a shame that most fragrance get weaker every year :/
Aaron, Awesome review of YSL Blue Electrique, and how to make it perform better with carbon animalic spray. Now I want a bottle of YSL Blue Electrique👍
Amazing review - thanks! Lots of moving hands indeed. I was able to get this off a French website back last Christmas, which seems an age ago now. I heard it got discontinued with the rumour being down to raw materials meaning that no more runs of production were possible...who knows. I have however seen it come up on Notino. In regard to the price V Longevity, I'd definitely pay £15-20 extra if it meant using less and lasting longer! That said, this line is known for being more of a subtle scent.
Just bought it this week... so lovely! With some sprays on both skin and clothes I actually get good longevity from this. It really is wonderful as you say, Aaron. Thanks
FINALLY I managed to get a 100ml bottle of this, and WOW!! Absolutely gorgeous fragrance, so glad I bought it, but will only use it for very special occasions due to the difficulties in getting hold of it. Thanks for the great review x
YSL! Please bring this one back in the future. I personally fell in love with this instantly in a local Macy’s in the wake of the limbo of nobody really knowing when it would return in stock anywhere. I begged the girls at Macy’s to please let me pay the full retail for the tester bottle, yes I was that desperate to get it but they had to respectfully decline. I got about 6-7 hours with 2 sprays on my inner elbow, and I was totally enamored by the scent. I don’t typically go for the top selling fragrances, and I don’t care if they’re niche or designer. I love what I love regardless of status of the house. All I’m saying is, I really hope it comes back in the future. A man can dream.
I have no issues with paying an extra £20 odd for a fragrance to last much longer, that’s why I pay for the fragrance in the first place, I just simply believe a fragrance should be great, long lasting and give good silage. On my skin, this particular fragrance lasted all day on me. I didn’t go heavy with the sprays & nor did I spray on my clothes.. but the last time I wore it it was a lot cooler weather so maybe that could’ve been a factor? I’ll wear it again tomorrow and see what the difference is in warmer weather 👍🏼 Thanks again for the great review Aaron, brilliant as always mate 👍🏼
Received it yesterday, great fragrance! Wearing it right now! 👌🏻 Smelled it last year but bought the l’intense instead (second bottle). Now also discontinued and replaced by the EDP unfortunately!
Got this today and it is a beautiful fragrance. I got 10 hours on my skin. Projected really well for 4-almost 5 hours. It got faint at about the 9 hour mark but I can still smell it when I put my nose close to where I sprayed.
Longevity became an issue in recent years due to major corporations acquiring smaller houses and then cutting costs by watering down their best sellers and by doing so created a massive wave of watered down fragrances across the board. In the 90's two sprays of your favourite fragrance would last you a minimum 12h-24h on your skin and weeks on your clothes. These days pretty much only niche and Arabian fragrances come close to that. When profit takes over Art and Passion the whole industry suffers. I love your reviews Aaron. You match my personal taste 100% it makes it extremely easy for me to pick my next fragrance just watching your reviews😉
When Aaron said, “I am not” after reading the description I lost it 🤣💀. By far my favorite fragrance RU-vid channel, and one of my favorite channel’s overall. Love this guy.
I was surprised to really not get on with the scent of this. It smelt like some sort of sweet fizzy drink, like lollies, at least on my skin. Not what I want to project 😅 I do love to hear your informed take, though, and I look forward to trying it again to see if I can appreciate it any better.
This and Frozen Cologne are without a doubt the best Alternatives to the beloved OG La Nuit. Both are a fresher Take of the Classic, and more wearable in the Summer, especially Frozen Cologne. Layering Ambroxan or ISO E Super in isolated form would be a way to boost the performance a bit. But still it's probably not going to be a Club Banger, it's the perfect Date Night Out scent tho.
L’Oréal acquired YSL a while back and they’ve been discontinuing a lot of fragrances presumably because they weren’t performing well at retail. This has also been the case with Mugler, Armani, and Prada. Fragrances that are beloved in the community are not necessarily given any attention by the average consumer. There was also the issue that, at one point, you would go to a fragrance counter and the YSL section was absolutely loaded with flankers. It was overkill.
This was a new release last year that sold really well, sold out and was done...dont understand why L'Oreal put this out only to not keep it going, bc it wasnt an old slow selling fragrance.
@@dextercharles5084 It was constantly on sale. In fact people were preordering it at Macy’s at a steep discount before it released, and it was on sale several times after that. I think it was a limited run from the get go, and fragrance influencers helped to push sales.
This one didn't even hit the shelves wtf, I could only ever get it online, in the uk it was never available, some websites would show it but it was "sold out" on release.
The L’homme/La Nuit line has continued to have an annual new flanker every year under L’Oreal. I don’t think L’Oreal considers the flanker overload a bad thing business-wise. Quite the opposite, I think they’re discontinuing so many of the old ones so they can continue releasing a new one each year.
Love your content and insight into the world of perfumes. I would love to hear your review of a scent from Allsaints specifically Concrete Rain…cheers💥💥
No question about it, I would absolutely pay another 10-20 pounds to get a properly long lasting fragrance. There is nothing more infuriating than spending good money on a fragrance that fails prematurely, and it ends up being more expensive, because you run through a bottle so quickly.
For me it's not even the runing through a bottle but the fact that you can't really utilize the fragrance the way you wanted to... I intend for people to still perceive it in the afternoon or evening when I put on fragrance in the morning but that doesn't always happen... I feel silly sneaking into the restrooms during the day to reapply, that's not relaxed at all...
I love YSL and whatever they did with the Y EDP formula. They need to do the same with the rest of Yves saint Laurent fragrances cuz the one is a complete beast! It last all day on my skin 8+ hours. Love Y EDP
Verry good Video. I have Bleu Électrique for three month's. Over the time it's much stronger! Now it gives me 8 hours longevity! It is sooo gorgeous 😍😍
Maybe this has something to it all of my bottles were batched from January 2021 so they are all over a year old now, maybe some got more recent batches and they need to sit a bit longer... I am new to fragrances with Bleu Electrique being my first fragrance love and I am looking forward to seeing how these bottles change over time for better or for worse I have 16oz. Left unopened I heard someone say the Blue color may fade with time if it's artificial it might become Yellow Electrique! xD but as long as the smell doesn't go sour I will still wear it regardless the color of the juice
Mine came in today from Hungary. Waaaayyyyyy nicer than the original La Nuit in my opinion. I really wasn’t sure about it at first, and it does kind of remind me of a fragrance for infants lol, but after a while it makes me feel warm but cool at the same time. Definitely a nice blue fragrance that isn’t extremely blue
about to say, you already reviewed this one Aaron! I went back and saw your edit, that was "Eau Electrique". Its too bad Bleu Electrique is discontinued now 😥 I think its a Raw Materials issue is why they did disco it
Your video reviews are absolutely fabulous ! I have a darker skin tone as well, Middle Eastern/Mediterranean, and nothing stays on my skin. I love wearing Men's Fragrances. Beast Mode of Cambodian Oud mixed with a few other Notes like Amber a bit of Benzoin. Nothing too Animalic. I found that Vaseline actually does work to help a Fragrance last longer. I use natural Oil Fragrances with different types of Oud as the Base from a trusted Perfumer in Dubai. His Ouds are sourced from sustainable Forests and individual Growers and he knows how to create luscious Oud Attars. As for your question, I would pay more for a lot more longevity and scent performance in a Fragrance, definitely~💥
Aaron, this is not discontinued in Canada. On me, the longevity is very good. I generally spray 2 times on the same spot - 3 different areas. 5-6 hours of good scent bubble
It's definitely a great fragrance . Shame if its discontinued. I've heard it is as well. I bought a bottle when it was released. I would definitely (and do) pay more for longer performance
Yes I'd rather pay a little more to have the fragrance last longer, without question. I also love love love your idea for a pre fragrance product to fix longevity.
This is definitely a scent you would want to put on moisturized skin first. On dry skin, this lasts me maybe 4 hours. On moisturized skin, 10 hours later it was still going strong.
I'd spent a few more dollars to get monstrous longevity. I'm not keen on the idea of applying moisturizer to boost the longevity. At the end of the day I want to invest on a fragrance that is worth your money. Spending hundreds that last for a few hours puts me off, no matter how good the fragrance is. I absolutely love Bleu Electrique though but I won't invest in a bottle unless YSL improved on it. Such a shame that it has been discontinued.
Yeah lhomme intense smells nice until it becomes a skin scent and smells cheapie... i want the dry down to be best and not smell crappy .... wouldn't be worth the money. Intense Man by CDN is probably one of the best long lasting i've worn... lasts all day and night
I absolutely love bleu electrique. I'd happily pay double if it was beast mode. If someone comes close to cloning this with great projection and sillage I'll buy 4 or 5 bottles.
I'm totally baffled as to why this was discontinued. The most hyped and well-received flanker of any fragrance in years. I also wonder why even this flanker doesn't perform amazing. Can Dominique Ropion really not do it? Did executives at YSL prevent him from making something that performs? It would be super cool if you made a monstrous inspired version of this as a limited edition release!
I've heard that isn't discontinued, but rather somewhat paused, since the ingredients are hard to get due to shortages. So they just don't produce as much from what I understand
This comment probably struck a nerve with Aaron lol. He hates dupes, not because they are terrible interpretations but because he hates the idea of them.
@@Joshsmoove I don't think he HATES dupe companies, just feels annoyed by creative work being straight ripped off for profit. It wouldn't be a "dupe" to make his unique take on this fragrance, making it nuclear and adding heliotropin for example. It would be something similar but something totally different too. You can tell he loves this, and would probably love it even more if he redesigned it himself
I bought half a bottle of this off someone online and I love it but yeah it doesn't last... I'd 100% pay an extra $20-$30 for a much longer last fragrance. Crank up the performance on this thing and YSL L'HOMME as well and I'm shelling out money for both because they're both awesome fragrances.
When i first sprayed this it instantly reminded me of the original la nuit when it first came out but just had that modern twist to it and not so much of the smoky ashtray smelling drydown. ysl is like the best and worst house. guess thats why i like them.. haha
I don't seem to have performance issues with this one like others have been having. I get through a whole work day with 4 sprays and can still smell it when I wake up in the morning 🤷♂️
Just found u and love your work, thats a pleasure to listen your emphatic perfumery reviews! Would lo e to know what product you put it in your arm to improve projection?
I could be wrong but it is my understanding that the context surrounding its discontinuation was that it was released during one of the peeks of the COVID supply chain crisis, so, as you know as a business owner, that complicated things and I think they just felt it was safer to halt production completely. Take that all with a grain of salt, but that’s the best explanation for why they would discontinue it almost immediately after its release.
Aaron do you think there are any ingredients that are going to be outlawed in the formulation, or that are going to become more expensive in the near future? Those were my first thoughts on why it would be discontinued.
I put this on today at 5 a.m. and then went to work. I worked all day, then came home, changed and I could still smell it clearly. Then I did cardio for 45 minutes and could still smell it. One spray on the lower left side of my neck and then one on the lower right side of neck. One spray on back of neck, then a spray on each wrist. It projected at an arms length or more for 2-3 hours, then settled down to a significant but close scent the rest of the day.
I have a 2oz bottle of this that I've only sprayed once and I'm scared to spray it again cause I love it so much 😪 I LOVE this frag! Honestly, ide trade it just to not have to stare at it anymore haha
Happy Easter to you and your team Aaron (and everyone visiting your channel) - the question regarding price vs longevity is an important one for me, as I'm not a high wage earner, but do love to smell good through my days at work, and days off. So if I'm spending £50 for say, 60ml, I want that to last. I have several John Varvatos fragrances, my favourite being 'Artisan Pure', but sadly it doesn't have much in the way of longevity. I have, however, bought your Legend and Maverick combo when you had them on offer. These do have the longevity, and for the money, it was a no-brainer. Regarding the last fragrance, Maverick - would you describe that as Unisex? And regarding your line of fragrances, which of yours would you describe as bright, fresh, citrus, almost oceanic - if there is one? Cheers, Aaron.
I just got this and personal i love it how it smells like it little warm but not too spicy just perfect and fresh at the same time i put 6 spray 4 on neck 2 first let them dry then again and one behind you can one spray on your shirt and i easily get 5-6 hours for party or date night its perfect for that amount of time
I would absolutely pay more for better performance, in fact, that’s why I like going for more luxury fragrances like xerjoff and soon ATH because I want the performance and projection. Sometimes it’s ok to have a subtle scent like for the office but with these sweeter fragrances/ orientals I want performance. Beast mode
Nice tips Aaron, thanks. I have Bleu Electrique and bought a back up bottle as it is being discontinued. I love it, its sweet sexy top class perfumery, but it does disappear on my very quickly. Why oh why do these houses release perfumes with weak longevity??
This is one of my most complimented fragrances . Only yesterday i had a lady say “ you smell good” which wasn’t bad as i had been in the sun and felt sweaty , but her reaction was genuine . I did read that this is / was / will be ?? discontinued , so i always buy a new one every time my bottle gets to half . Just incase
This! I would choose to wear Bleu electrique to work and I work hard doing alot of manual labor and heavy lifting this caused alot of heat and sweat, all this led me to be afraid the fragrances would be too much but I actually got more compliments on hotter days, Bleu Electrique is a champion in the heat!
"Are you brave enough to take the step and captivate the ladies?" "I am not :)" That got a genuine audible chuckle out of me. I almost feel like I have to try this one now. I dismissed it at first as a boring "blue" take, but if Aaron is impressed, then i trust there's something to it. Discontinued? Crazy. This was hyped to high hell after release. I can never understand...
yes the bleu put me of as not a lover of the blue fragrance genre but pleased to say its not its a warm spicy fragrance of very good quality perfect for what its intended for just brought a back up bottle while i still can
I would pay the extra money for better performance. There are several scents that I love the scent profile of but don't bother owning because it's not even going to get me 6 hours. 8-10 hours is generally a good benchmark in my opinion. I work 12 hour shift and I want something that will atleast stick with me the majority of my day, especially since we can not spray anything at work. Getting 10+ hours is perfect even if it's an intimate scent bubble. I actually think YSL's Tuxedo has the perfect balance in performance. Not too loud but not too soft
I picked up 2 bottles but It's discontinued already after just a few months.....it's so strange and nobody knows why! They just pulled it off the shelves with no explanation. I heard a rumor that a ton of people were complaining about the longevity and that it was too similar to the original LA Nuit de L'homme which it Is but there are enough differences to make it a solid release. It does not last too long on me maybe 3 hours and I can't even smell it anymore unless I do about 30 sprays!
The price v longevity concept is an interesting one. If you spend $80aud on a fragrance that you have to spray x6 + and then reapply, or a $180aud fragrance that you spray x3, which fragrance becomes the better value?🤔
I would gladly spend £20-£30 more to get some longevity into this fragrance. This and LNDL are two of my favourites but the longevity let them down massively.
I really have to laugh right now 😆I blindly ordered this perfume 10 minutes ago and now you're checking it out..... I'm excited and relieved that you like it! Regards Alois ✌
its a mystery why some companies discontinue good frags but ysl is known to bring flankers out and axe them pretty quick but this was on the market for over a year so thats really quick .
I would be very happy to pay 30 pound for a massive increase in longevity now if I knew that the fragrance was one that I loved. Unfortunately I have found it incredibly hard to learn even so much as what notes I enjoy in fragrances. I've bought from discount bins, trying to understand what I love. It cost a fair bit even though most of what I own was bought well below retail. Scent is so personal, and there is no where nearby to freely indulge in an exploration of fragrance. At this point I have a decent idea of what I love to smell, and what I love to smell like. I'm certain I will be constantly surprised, but I hope to get more opportunities to smell higher quality stuff. I saw that you have put out a discovery box of 2 ml samples. I hope to be able to get that at some point.
