I had the complete opposite experience. 4 sprays and within the hour I couldn’t even smell it on myself I had to put my wrist to my nose to be able to pick up the scent. My girlfriend didn’t even notice it until she hugged me and even then she said it was faint
Used to be my signature scent until they reformulated it. And the funny thing is; the latest reformulation is pretty near the original (I bought it). Not as strong but smell wise. I like it 😊
Im so glad i still have my original bottle mostly full from over 20 yrs ago. Still radiates a ton, top notes havent faded yet thankfully. I always keep my bottles in air conditioned room, out of any sunlight. I think it helps immensely.
@@dudeman3186 it lasted pretty long on me not the biggest projection kind of a bummer because the scent itself is amazing to me just wish it lasted & projected a bit more
This was my signature scent when it came out in the 90’s, used to be beast mode, not anymore but it still smells very similar and if you’re in the uk bodycare sell the 75mil for around £30 I think.
Great insight into the technical and design(/audience targetting?) aspects of fragrance in Aaron’s videos as always! Patiently waiting for your thoughts on Issey Miyake’s “L’eau d’Issey pour Homme” 🤞🏻
Pulled the trigger on this yesterday. £38 for 125ml on Escentual as they are running 25% off site wide. Also ordered 100ml of Dior homme edt. Can't go wrong at those prices.
I currently have MB Explorer on one arm and Dolce Gabana Pour Homme on the other. 20 min in the citrusy openings are really similar. I can identify the Neroli in D&G which gives me more of a HOT summery feel.
This was the first fragrance i discovered that didnt smell like a perfume. It was the first fragrance where I smelled the notes, mostly citrus and pepper. After a couple of decades away from it, I wore it again a few years ago and it had a powdery quality to it that I didn't like. I don't know if the formulation has changed, or my nose has changed, or the way it works on my skin has changed, but I was really disappointed that this'll old favorite didn't work for me anymore.
I love this one, for sentimental reasons as well, and it's quite unique in my mind, which I like, although it was heavily overused when it just came out in the mid nineties.
Love D&G Pour Homme, best everyday fragrance simple but amazing. I have the germany and french versión, they are pretty similar, but the germany is powerfull and last forever. I even have the clone of this frag wich is Nike the perfume man.
Good review I'd like you to review a favorite of mine armani eau pour homme barely anyone mentions it on youtube it first was released in 1984 it's been reformulated a number of times but it's one that i think has improved longevity with newer batches i don't smell any difference, I wore it a lot in my 20s and i still love it now at 49 I'd be curious what you think of it, it is a bit dated compared to all the armani releases of nowadays but for me it tops the lot of them still it's just my personal favourite armani fragrance but nobody mentions it
“Maximum sex appeal and tenderness”. 🙄. I love how Aaron rolled his eyes as if to say “cut the bullcrap.” I’m getting this fragrance! I’ve heard so much positive feedback. 😊 I love this channel because of the technical (chemistry) aspect that Aaron shares. I took chemistry many years ago in college, so I appreciate the Aaron’s expertise and extensive knowledge. You just don’t get that on any channel!
@@janm3531 I have no idea yet. I haven't bought the regular pour homme yet. The only D&G fragrances I have at the moment are Light Blue Eau Intense, Light Blue Sun, and K edp.
It’s funny Aaron did this review, I wore this today randomly and layered it with molecule 01 to test and received a nice compliment at work as soon as I arrived. This was my signature scent in the early 2000’s when it was definitely a stronger formulation.
One of my faves from back in the day. I discovered DG Pour Homme late (probably 7 or 8 years ago) When I smelled it more recently, couldn't help but smile. It triggered my scent memory. I've definitely smelled this on somebody back in the mid late 1990's as a teenager along with the Tommy Hilfiger's, Hugo Bosses, Paco Rabanne XS, Issey Miyake, JPG, and ADG. Back then I couldn't afford most of that stuff. I always liked fragrances, but wasn't aware of which smell matched a particular designer. Just knew they were popular amongst fellow schoolmates & relatives into fragz. I don't have to many Summer fragrances with tobacco. (Maybe Ultramale Insense by Givenchy being the other) This sets DG Pour Homme apart, with that Italian zesty citrusy soapy quality as Aaron mentions, especially for it's time period (1994) I've had the 2 formulations (the one with the sticker on front and the current one). As far as newer batches, I've gotten better performance from the larger 6.7 oz bottles than the smaller ones so far
What version you did review on, France or Italy? D&G has moved production since 2023 and all new bottles are Italian, some say that it was reformulated again
Never smelled this one before but have had a few persons ask me if I was wearing this while I was wearing 1981X by Alexandria Fragrances. Not sure if there is any comparison in the DNA
This Aaron is one of my ALL TIME favorite fragrances! I’ve had it back in the late 90’s made in Italy before the numerous reformulations and it smelled way better! Now since this is always in my fragrance collection I’ve had all reformulations. Italy, Germany, UK, France. Now I just bought another one from the store that says made in Italy on the box with 3 listed scent notes listed on the back of the box. Very weird bc it’s batch code checker says it’s from 2021. If anyone can tell me about this new made in Italy that would be great. Anyways love your videos Aaron! Big big fan!
Some Chanel fragrances had the same formulation history. And in recent years the production of some batches of the perfumes have been made in Italy again!
The Batch codes are reused every 10 years. If you use a batch code checker and says that it is from 2021, I could be 2011, 2001. It is strange that the box lists only 3 scent, because it is only for really early ones (2001 not included). I smelled the new version from Italy, didn't like. I think the French version is the best one after que originals Italian versions
I had a bottle of this in high school, 2002 or 2003 and it was amazing back then. As this formula was from Italy, before it was sold and reformulated a year or two later. I still remember how it smelled. I wore it every day until I’d used about 75% of the bottle and it was stolen at that point. I grabbed a bottle the other day from a local shop for $20 USD that turned out to be the UK version. I gave myself two sprays of this version after a shower and found myself feeling sick to my stomach after a few hours of having it on. The smell was just horrid. Nothing like the original. I’ve heard that recently it’s began production in Italy again by D&G themselves, but have not been able to find this version so far. It seems like most retailers have the UK version that was produced by P&G Prestige in the UK. It’s always super cheap and loads in stock. Seems like they can’t sell it because no one wants this garbage version.
There’s something weird going on with the audio in your recent videos, sounds like a bassy buzzing esp noticeable in your voice. Could possibly be clipping from too high gain on the mic.
Great review Aaron. Please allow me to share a small advice. As you can see in the comments, many are aware of the fact that this is a reformulation of D&G Homme. The original came out in the 90s. Every time you are reviewing a perfume that is a reformulation, it would be really neat if you you review both the new and old versions. Keep up your awesome work 😊
In addition to this often being impossible, I also do not know that I care about a review of something that I cannot buy anymore. This could be relevant in rare cases when the reformulation happened recently, and while both versions are still available on the market.
Used to be my fall/winter/spring signature back in like 2004... they reformulated it somewhere along the way... not as strong as it once was... still good, not great anymore
