I can totally relate to this. Way back in the early 90s in Sri Lanka, I used to buy pads for my sister. She never asked me for it but my mother used to write in down in the shopping list. If you are an Annan, you have to do it. None of the shopkeepers batted an eyelid. But they would always wrap it in brown paper and then put it in a plastic bag, as if it was a secretive product. I used to find that funny. A natural thing pushed under the carpet and never talked about. It's good that times are changing and women shouldn't feel ashamed of these things.

Every women’s pain and bleeding differs according to their body and hormones. Some may have extreme pain, some have less or no pain. Some have heavy bleeding and some have less. In rare cases during hormone imbalances it will be abnormal. My sister suffered from imbalance and she gets her periods for like 15days, pain happens like labor pain and heavy bleeding. Some time her hp levels drop below 7. Her mother in law had a painless , normal flow throughout her life so , she never understood my sister’s sufferings and she used to scold my sister if she says that her pain is unbearable. Even women with normal regular periods wont understand the other women who has abnormal periods. Luckily her husband understood her pain and took care of her. So people please understand that everyone’s problems are different and do not judge other without walking in their shoes. Respect women. Please don’t hurt her.
