Finally someone who explains this so well and actually recommended something that isn’t 3 months of super strong antibiotics that destroy your gut or a recommendation to not wear makeup for months, which isn’t realistic when you have PD!
I can’t believe I found this video- I cried when I found this. I’m 26 and I’ve never had any issues untill now and I have been searching endlessly for solutions to this and what this could be. Thank you thank you thank you
Erika M I’m 26 too and same girl! I started to get this last November (2019) it’s driving me crazy! I am on Nexplanon birth control and I want to get it out now! I feel like it’s contributing to it
I literally just left the dermatologist and got diagnosed today 😭 he prescribed me “Aczone - (Dapsone) Gel, 7.5%” I’m hoping this helps me. This video she said to use a cream but I’m hoping this gel works. If not I’ll ask for that cream she mentions in this video. I’ll be sure to comment again in a week or two to let you know if my gel worked.
@@JackieDelight1800 I am on Nexplanon and about 3 months after having it my Perioal Dermatitis started!! I think there's definitely a link. I'm going to try and get some Rozex from the doctor ASAP.
Thank you so much Nadine! My 10 year old had been suffering with this for over a year. We tried Metrogel, Elidel and saw many doctors but nothing worked. It was getting so bad that she wore a face mask at school to hide it and even started drawing it on her self portraits. The last dermatologist we saw gave her a 5 month prescription for antibiotics. We filled it out but saw your video first and desided to try the Rosex cream (it's called Noritate here in Canada). You've saved my daughter from a lifetime of antibiotics! How can I ever thank you enough? Her face is clear now and she no longer wears a mask at school. Thank you Nadine, your video was a lifesaver for us!
That’s why Nadine is my absolute favorite beauty guru! She gets the knowledge from the pros and gives recommendations straights from the docs! I had a severe case of Perioral Dermatitis-bad derm prescribed Steriod cream it got way worse! New Derm prescribed antibiotic for one month and the cream that Nadine recommended my skin is finally healing and going back to its normal self. That cream is amazing and it really does work!
hi, i’m a 13 yr old girl who purchased a The Ordinary product last year during the summer, after i used it I began to break out underneath one of my nostrils, and then not knowing, thinking it was acne, kept using the product and even more so, foundation and concealer on top of that. from there it got worse. i’ve never known what it was until about three months ago, i only have it around my nose and it’s been quite the struggle, ofc i’ve never been to the doctor or dermatologist to see what it is and seek treatment, my parents never took me to one, definitely will try to see one, probably not sometime soon because of the coronavirus, however, IM SO GLAD I FOUND THIS VIDEO!!! bc now i know what i need to look for when being prescribed a treatment!! tysm!! 💞💞
Lily Figueroa what product did you use ? I used the ordinary moisturiser and niacinamide serum last night and have broken out in perioral dermatitis 😬 I don’t know which one caused it
You're a God sent! I'm suffering from PD now due to excessive use of steroids on the face. My skin was my 'thing' and now I can't even look at myself in the mirror
You’re amazing! Been researching this for years and no joy, FINALLY an answer. Will be annoyingly ( for my doc ☺️) toting my giant ipad to the doctor to show this video and explain what i need for my clown face perioral dematitis . Thank you SO MUCH Nadine ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is so unbelievable!! How can I ever explain to the world that a female herbal Dr Omoye dromoye3@gmail.com cured I and my boyfriend from our 6 years Dermantitis.I feel so happy and excited today.... 💃💃
You are a LIFE SAVER, was starting to lose hope as this has been an endless battle for me, but I now feel totally relieved knowing there’s actually something that can help! Thank you thank you thank you x
Thank you Nadine!! I suffered with this condition for only 2 months but had one of the worst cases I saw from researching online. It was truly the worst skincare experience ever. I’d like to add that once you’ve experienced this, please please please always keep your skincare routine to gentle and minimum products. I use the minimum since I’ve been cured because I notice when I start adding too much, I feel the tingling that you mentioned earlier around the nose. Basically even though you’re recovered, I’d say your skin is never the same. But you should be successful keeping it at bay being a skincare minimalist and using sensitive skin Ingredients (i.e. fragrance free and denatured alcohol free)
@@luisblue6949 I haven’t used it in weeks and mine hasn’t come back at all.every day for a month I would slather it on my face and let it soak in and stopped using any Vaseline

I had perioral dermatitis for the first time last year. This was following on from a case of folliculitis which was over my forehead and cheeks, so clearly i had a compromised barrier. I didn't go to my GP about it because i had been through such a trial with her trying to sort out the folliculitis (reacting to antibiotics, myriads of things not working etc.). I mistakenly went for a facial and the facialist said a quick round of microdermabrasion would clear it up *eye bulge*. Obviously, it made it so much worse. I ended up stripping back to basics, gentle cleanse once a day and washed off with cool water (warm water seemed to aggravate). I also soaked oats in water and would use the water as a toner for my skin- really helped reduce the inflammation. I did not use any acids or retinols for about 6 months and i can say my skin has finally returned to its normal state. Now, I am very cautious of using too many products and have a VERY basic routine. Goodluck to anyone who is still battling the PD beast!
I have actually got rid of it completely with the help of azelaic acid (the TO one works, and is also good for sensitive skin, as it is not so concentrated; also, you don't need a prescription for it). And since I have a case of extremely sensitive, intolerant skin, I always use the most gentle of products, no alcohol, perfume, essentials oils etc. Cortisone products are the worst, they can actually trigger PD. For hydration and skin repairing, as someone has already suggested, the Toleriane Ultra and Cicaplast ranges from La Roche Posay are great.
Did this dry out your skin? I have PD but also SUPER dry sensitive skin I only use none fragrance super clean gentle face wash and a moisturizer and idk what to do bc I don’t want to make it worse
Thank you so much!!!!!! My little boy has had this problem for two months and doctors had no idea. I have told the doctors that this is what he has and he needs the cream. They have finally listened to me and agreed with the diagnosis thanks to your video. ❤
The rosex creme worked perfectly on me!! My dermatitis was gone within a week, just like a miracle. So thank you so much for helping! I can definetly also recommend the rosex creme
I had a doctor diagnose me with this. Spent hundreds on a dermatologist who ended up saying to me "sorry I can't help you" and didn't refer me anywhere else. Thank you so much for this video! is has been the most helpful thing
THANK YOU! I’ve been reading tons of articles, watched a million videos, and no one has actually explained what perioral dermatitis is (the breakdown of that barrier). You are my hero 💜💜💜
My Periodontal patients get great relief from oral Metronidazole prescription. Beautiful to see it working on periorbital dermatitis. Great video as always Nadine😊🙏🏼
Got this cream after watching your video and my dermatitis is cleared after one use! thank you. Definitely recommend asking your doc for metronidazole cream
Thank you so much for this video. Developed perioral dermatitis last year triggered by mask wearing for work. Suffered desperately. I live in an area where only 1 dermatologist services the entire province so that wasn't an option. Educated myself using your video info and finally my face is starting to heal having provided the info to my GP who was willing to listen. I'm 58 and never ever had this problem before. So self conscious when having a breakout - hoping this will be the end of it.
Thanks so much for this video. My dermatitis was caused originally by a shampoo/conditioner that contained a coconut derivative that is apparently irritating to a lot of people. Took months to work it out and repair the damage. I'm currently having a flare up which I think has been caused by a combination of my Differin prescription and an overly fragranced Vichy spf. I'm protecting and repairing and hoping it will settle down on it's own, but if it doesn't I will get this prescribed. Such a font of knowledge Nadine, you are invaluable!
Oh my goodness, i know this comment is 3 years old but I've recently been afflicted with PD and the shampoo I'm using right now contains coconut..! I never considered it could be hair products 🤯 can I ask do you remember what the coconut derivative was? X
OMG, I've been having this probably for two years now and this is the BEST video I've seen. THANK YOU!! I need to find a better dermatologist. Because they never knew what I had.
At last!!! Thank you, THANK YOU for pinpointing my sons skin issues. I mistook it for sebhoric dermatitis but his rash didn't exactly match but was similar. ❤
This has explained it so well, I now know this is what I have. For years my doctor called it rosacea and gave me hydrocortisone but I now have a new doctor who gave me Rosez and this has been the best thing in the cream form. I didn’t know it was called Perioral Dermatitis but now I know how to treat it I feel much more relaxed about it when it flares up instead of going into horror mode as it used to flare up all around my mouth, angry red and dry. Thank you so much.💕
I remember my doctor prescribing expensive fungal medicine that didn't work! Great video thanks so much. 6:37 Metrogel -skins barrier function impaired. skin can no longer keep bacteria out and water in. But gel is alcohol based 07:58 Metronidazole - cream base . Anti-inflammatory
Thank you so much i got really bad outbreak of PD a month ago, the gp prescribed the metro gel but exactly like you said it helped very slightly but PD was still dry , irritated and inflamed. After watching this video i went back to my gp and asked for the cream version instead. Literally worked overnight and 1 week later PD completely gone, the metro cream works guys xx
This is so unbelievable!! How can I ever explain to the world that a female herbal Dr Omoye dromoye3@gmail.com cured I and my boyfriend from our 6 years Dermantitis.I feel so happy and excited today.... 💃💃
My go to for my perioral dermatitis is a calendula cream by mama nature (proskin). I have often wondered if all calendula creams are similar as there are much cheaper ones available but this works beautifully for me and leaves my skin soft and dermatitis free and I don't want to rock the boat as it has taken me almost seven years to find a product that works!
Thank you for explaining this so well. A provider wasn't sure and diagnosed facial shingles- it didn't go away with 2 courses of meds. Then a doctor wasn't sure but gave me two different meds- one was clobetasol, a steroid cream- which made it worse! A wonderful PAC who works at a dermatologist's office part-time ( I saw her at a different clinic) nailed the diagnosis and gave me the metronidazole cream, and Doxycycline just to clear up the massive flare-up that had spread. I've noticed a difference overnight. This has been ongoing for 3 months. I'll be glad to see my normal skin again.
Hi there! Thank you soooo much Nadine! People, the Rosex cream works. I found this video on Tuesday, got my hands on some Rosex that day. Now it’s Friday and my PD is almost gone. So releaved. I think by Monday (so within 6 days) it’ll heal completely. 🤩
I'm in Australia and am certain that I have this and I've been suffering from it for weeks. I've had every single symptom. I've been crying and depressed because everything I do makes it worse, the burning and itching drives me up the wall....not to mention the tightness and flaky crusty skin! I wonder if it's caused by oral steroids for my arthritis, though I've been talking those for years. I suffer terrible rosacea as well for 30 years and now I have broken capillaries from that. UGLY!!!! I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this video and am heading to my gp tomorrow for a referral to a dermatologist. God bless you my dear and THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU❤
I found that my skin vastly improved by using a toothpaste that does not have SLS in it. A tip I think I got from Caroline Hirons. The SLS was drying my skin out so much. When mine flares up I resort to washing my face with emollient cream called dermol that is antimicrobial. But I think I need to try this wonder cream! Thanks Nadine
Thank you so much for posting this!! I had this once , very slightly, when I was 22, and it came back again recently in a more irritating and noticeable way at age 30. The only thing I've found to be helping so far is rinsing my face ( no soap ), and applying Black Seed Oil ( Nigella Sativa ). It is anti-inflammatory, anti bacterial, anti viral, and anti-fungal. Its not completely cleared up, but seems to have made a marked improvement. 🤔
Found this so very interesting. I’ve not suffered from this but sounds very frustrating and painful. I’ve had always had very reactive sensitive skin, every facial I ever had burned, the worst by far was an organic one! The Ordinary has saved me, I think it’s the simple formulas with no fragrance, I think a lot about Brandon’s foresight. I’ve now gradually built up to stronger actives with no issue except for alpha lipoic it itched like crazy. I loved the results but that itch!.
A great little skincare line that has really helped me keep both rosacea and perioral dermatitis at bay is a skincare line called “Kalme” that can as far as I know only be found online. They have several products, but among them a cream called “Undercoat” that just soothes, protects and stops active ingredients from other sources to irritate or disturb the skin barrier. It is just phenomenal!! I use it specifically on areas around my nose and chin to prevent actives I use on my skin to get to those areas and whenever my skin is even slightly irritated or I can anticipate irritation I use it all over. It’s a lovely cream!! Understated and strangely underhyped, but absolutely phenomenal in its simplicity! (Their night cream is fab too btw, and their sunscreen if you feel everything else itches on you..)
Yes! 👏🏼 thank you!!! And sometimes it can appear in the outer corner of the eyes. And, once I had a very intense crisis that spread all over the body, in many spots, almost like varicella, but it was the same exact dermatitis.
I definitely want to try this!! I haven't been diagnosed yet, but I'm pretty sure PD is what I have after trying a Fenty Beauty product called Fat Water. I am never ever using a celebrity skin care line again. Never have I ever had a skin reaction like this before. 100% learned my lesson.
i have suffered from this for YEARS to the point where i feel uncomfortable without makeup on even in front of family at home. i think you’ve just saved my life !!!!! picking this prescription up today but at the end of the video consultation i’m pretty sure my doctor said gel 😭 let’s hope the chemist will give me the cream instead!
Thank you so much for making this video and recommending metronidazole. I have spent literally the last 2-3 years of my life in an on and off battle with PD. Although I’ve learnt to manage it, I was beginning to despair that it would ever go away. Thank you!
Just stumbled upon your video. thank you! I’ve been suffering from this since I tried a very good quality skincare line that was had natural ingredients. It caused my perioral dermatitis. I so appreciate your advice. I’ll be calling my dermatologist tomorrow!
Thank you Nadine, crying right now. Bad case of PO. I know now what to ask for. A big thank you for this video. Got to see a GP today and got prescribed a topical antibiotic cream. Already looking better after 2 applications. I think a got it from using around 7 new products recommended to me through a regimen recommended by The ordinary. Maybe it was way too much active products introduced at the same time... add to that the fact that I,m going through menopause... the perfect recipe for skin disaster. They tried to give me cortisone cream and after seeing your video I said no way ! Thanks for everything I felt prepared for my appointment and seeing how good you look now I ‘m a bit on the optimistic side. You are a darling. Kisses all the way from quebec.
Thank you for this video!! I have PD and for one year I was using unfortunately steroid cream prescribed by my GP and it turned horrible. Still I did’t know what I really suffered from until the day I diagnosed myself from internet and then I went to dermatologist that confirmed it’s PD. Currently I use Rozex and Aknemycin cream to heal the skin and after 8 days of using them results are just amazing. I cannot say it’s 100% gone but I can finally go out and not feel that people are staring at me. I felt really bad about my skin..
Thanks so much, I've suffered from this for 20+ years. I've known it was POD but never had someone explain what causes it -- the breakdown of barrier and then your body trying to counter the bacteria. For the last couple of years I've resorted to antibiotics. I wish I'd learn that my skin can no longer tolerate all the tempting actives!
I was given oral Metronidazole, months supply, because my dermatitis got to the point it was no longer just a flare up, there was no in between. Now I only have flare ups- which I will take any day over having it daily for over a year. I have been trying SO HARD to find something to control the flare ups. I was recommended this video through Reddit- I am so happy I was!
Thank you so much. I’ve been struggling with this and how to help my skin. I’ve always had great skin until recently and was completely miffed as to how I got dermatitis, still don’t really know, but with your advice I feel a bit more I control of it rather than the other way around.
I've had major PD and the only products that helped me were the Toleriane range by La Roche Posay. Within 2 weeks my skin was bloody clear. Couldn't believe it! Love you Nadine xx
Thank you that video really explains and makes sense ….I’m going to re approach my GP ….reject the Hydrocortisone they keep prescribing ( it does exactly as you said) ….I’m gonna push for cream you recommended on prescription …thank you so much xxx
This video helped so much, I have been battling POD since January of this year. The first Derm. Put me on steroid cream and just as you mentioned it helped and then became much worse. I eventually had it not only around the mouth and chin but around my eyes two round spots on my forehead and on my left cheek. Be careful of strong SPF sunscreens and recently discovered that the Zinc in my facial sunscreen makes it worse.
Ive had this nightmare,Ive nicknamed it Ironbridge Chin,as I had to have a day out at Ironbridge Gorge Museum with my chin looking terrible. I eventually bought a copy of the museum newspaper and walked about with it held in front of my chin. Best 40p I ever spent!
I battled with this for a while then went to see Dr Sam Bunting, I haven’t looked back. I haven’t had a flare up since. I use Finacea and have cut out all unnecessary products. I use unfragranced products and don’t chop and change. It was a very high end natural skin care line that really aggravated my skin, I stay well clear of natural products now!
hello, Can you please tell me how, when you use azelaic acid? please.like am or pm or before or after moisturizer? any tips about the sunscreen. Do you do oil cleanse as 1st steep? Thanks in advance. Stay safe.
Subhasree Bhattacharyya hi, I use it in the morning after cleansing with Dr Sam’s gentle face cleanser, then I use vit c 10% then I use the azelaic acid, Dr Sam’s moisturiser and lastly, SPF. I hope that helps? It’s really important to use gentle, non fragranced skin care. I used Avene as directed by Dr Sam Bunting when my perioral dermatitis was active.
For more than a decade I had perioral dermatitis and I didn’t even know. I was always told it was acne. Thankfully I can get some treatment, the relief is unimaginable.
Thank you so much. I’ve been dealing this for months and I’ve developed severe depression from it. My doctor is a dermatologist specialist but he simply doesn’t know what else to do we’ve tried everything. I’ve seen three different doctors in total they’ve each told me different things. I’m going to beg my doctor to give me the Rosex this is my last hope.
Thanks for posting this video, Nadine, and for helping so many people :) I agree that steroid creams shouldn't be used long term. They are only intended for short term use as they can thin the skin (I know from personal experience) and can cause breakouts. I was bad and I mean bad with PD and was slathering on make up to cover it up. I must have tried over twenty different creams and lotions and just kept on irritating in. The only thing that cleared up my PD was to give my skin a complete break from using anything for one month and then using proskin eczema after reading some great reviews about it. I also switched to a cleansing milk by NYR.
I was just diagnosed with this last week and had never heard of it before. I was prescribed the topical cream, Metronidazole Topical Cream 0.75%, no name brand here in the states, but same cream. I am so happy you explained this cream so well, as the PA that prescribed it did not. I am excited to see if this takes care of my issue. She mentioned it is a difficult condition to treat, but you have given me hope! Thanks Nadine!! XOXO
You’ve saved me!!!! I was dreading the announcement that we no longer had to wear masks when going out, as I have had this rash for YEARS, and was able to hide behind the mask, haa! Just as you say, hydrocortisone makes it worse. The GEL base Rosex didn’t work, but the CREAM base has cured me! Thank you so much!!!
You’re a life saver. I’ve been having this for about 2 months now and all the gp is saying is put Vaseline. I’m gonna call them soon and explain this and ask them for help. Thankyou so much.
I’ve been suffering with this for 4 years my dermatologist prescribed antibiotics said it was dermatitis gave me hydrocortisone it worked for a a few days then bam hit me way worse I just made a new appointment and can’t wait to try this I feel so ugly and have gained 60lbs I don’t leave the house anymore I used to be very pretty but feel like I haven been destroyed by this and not getting any answers or help I really hope this works I feel like this really could be the answer I’ve been desperately looking for thank you so much
Thank you ! Thank you! Thank you!!!! First started back in May under my eyes. Finally was able to get in with derm. And was giving antibiotic and Elidel. Went away. Now it is back and around my nose..... I still have some Elidel left , but not working. Cannot get in to see my derm for several weeks, but I will tell them I want that cream!!!!! This has been so helpful ........
This is so unbelievable!! How can I ever explain to the world that a female herbal Dr Omoye dromoye3@gmail.com cured I and my boyfriend from our 6 years Dermantitis.I feel so happy and excited today.... 💃💃
MissTactrix omg hi! After experiencing & researching POD for almost 4 months now, I JUST saw a dermatologist 6 days ago and was ALSO prescribed Aczone but at 5% (gel). So far, it is definitely helping to clear up my overall skin complexion, but I haven’t noticed a dramatic difference with my POD. HOWEVER: My GP prescribed me the metronidazole cream 3 weeks ago! While it didn’t cure me when I was solely using that, I just started applying the cream directly to my POD (after applying the Aczone gel all over). I actually think I’m starting to see progress! You may not need the cream at all, but I do think the Aczone is a great start! Apparently it takes about 12 weeks to work at its best😅🙃 Best of luck♥️♥️♥️
So it’s been exactly a week and it worked!! I wish I could post photos! The redness and scaly flaky-ness skin is gone! However during this whole week I quit drinking any alcohol, didn’t eat chocolate like my dermatologist said not to eat... and I did not wear any make up or washed my face with any face wash. I’ve done more research on RU-vid and found that there are face washes that you can use that will not cause an OB to happen. Again it’s gone !!! And I’m happy. I think my PD has a lot to do with my birth control Nexplanon. So I’m getting off of this BC because honestly I hate how it makes me feel and I’ve never had this happen to me until I got on this BC. Again not suggesting everyone to stop taking their BC.. but I am to see if that helps any. Again I highly suggest the gel that I mentioned above ! It 100% worked for me.
Thank you THANK YOU so much.. I have suffered with this for a few years now and have never known what it is and just always assumed it was from dairy and wheat.. such a breathe of fresh air to hear you explain it and offer a solution!! I can’t wait to get a hold of these two products! Fingers crossed!
Thank you so much!! ❤ So true about steroid creams, my doctor gave me Daktacort hydrocortisone ointment, used it for a couple of weeks and was soothing for a few days , but then my perioral dermatitis just spread very badly and came back really aggressively! Grrrr!! 😡 My other doctor said she shouldn’t have prescribed it. PLEASE AVOID STEROID CREAM!! Now I’m on antibiotics and very simple creams, Avene Tolerance face wash and then Grahams C+ cream seems to be calming it down.❤
This is super helpful! Thanks for sharing your experience . I have perioral dermatitis and this is a very detailed very useful piece of advice . Thankyou for your time and patience .
I hope this may be useful too. I also suffer from this condition and what it helped is to remove the trigger. Mine were shampoo with fragrance and SLS, moisturizer with fragrance and face wash with SLS. Now I use Sukin shampoo fragrance free ( I tried others but this is the only one so far that has zero reaction), QV gentle wash to clean my face, Avene moisturizer. Oh and I should not forget sudocream, the nappy rash cream. I put it at night and is clearing absolutely everything. I think it has to do with the zinc. For make up I use nude mineral powder and my skin is getting back to normal after two years. I used to use a lot of product on my face ( serum, conditioners, moisturiser, rosehip oil) now I keep it super simple at least in the areas where I have it
This makes perfect sense to me. I had several issues with dry cracked corners of my mouth a few years ago, which wouldn’t heal. After watching Caroline hirons it struck me, I was it was SLS in toothpaste that was causing the issue. The last few weeks I have this red dry spot thing and after posting a photo on Caroline’s skincare freaks on Facebook, a lady replied back instantly saying she thinks is perioral dermatitis. I have recently switched cleaners and the top ingredient is SLS. Thanks for this , it’s been really helpful.
I don't suffer from this condition but used to suffer from rosacea bumps. I did my research & asked my Dr for the Rosex cream. My Dr didn't even know it came as a cream, as they always prescribed the gel version. She had to look it up! It's great stuff. Emma x
So upsetting to have been diagnosed by an actual dermatologist with a yeast infection around my mouth when I know it’s always been Perioral Dermatitis. The derm didn’t spend 5 minutes with me before tossing a prescription that contains...of course...hydrocortisone acetate. It,of course, doesn’t clear the POD. I’ve suffered with this for over a year with no one seeming to get whats up. Thank you Nadine for explaining POD to us. Could you explain it to the plethora of docs who apparently don’t get it? It’s so hard to not be heard by your own physicians.
'Try to see a dermatologist if you can. Easier said than done in America than anywhere else, I know'. Well, try to see one in UK.... I have been misdiagnosed for years by GP's with 'I know it all' attitude' being the lab rat to their random prescriptions, including steroids. Now that I know what it is, I can hopefully get rid of it, or when I can get a trip abroad to pay a private dermatologist to treat me. Thanks so much for this video. It just reinforced my belief that this is what I have been suffering from for years.
What an enlightening video. I was prescribed Elidel and a $300/month antibiotic for 3 months. It worked but your offerings seem less heavy handed and less expensive
Thank you for defining WHAT IT IS. I never knew it was a breakdown of skin barrier which dries skin and lets in bacteria which causes inflammation. Apple cider vinegar and Shea butter work for me. Day 3-4 of washing gently with a washcloth, wiping with a vinegar cotton ball and slathering with Shea. Not 100% yet but getting there.
I had some ups and downs but basically totally gone. Added in Unscented goats milk soap as mild cleanser and ditched washcloth. I wash, put on Diluted Apple cider vinegar with palm of hands. Keeping it gentle sped recovery.
Thank you so so so so much!!! In my country i can buy those ointments without prescription. And it really works! Afer three weeks it finally begins to disappear.
Thank you!!!! I have had this several times in my life, and have been on prednisone for weeks. Ugh…it’s worse. I’m going to the Dr tomorrow to ask for this. ❤
Where to start! Mine got worse this year, after I got COVID. I got doxycycline, which is giving me a gut rot feeling as well as metrogel as the pharmacist said the cream is discontinued! 🤦🏽♀️I hope it works. I like many others had no skin issues until now, I’m 46…up to this recent issue, I’ve been good, BUT, I did up the products, so perhaps one of the culprits! Thank you for the video and the products you mentioned 👍🏽
Nadine you are brilliant. I wish I'd spotted this before using the prescribed hydrocortisone cream, antibiotics and then anti fungal capsules all of which haven't worked. I have another consultation tomorrow and will direct the Dr to you!
So glad I stumbled across your channel... I also suffered from perioral dermatitis and at first my doctor prescribed me steroids cream but it kept getting worse until I went and see a dermatologist that's when I know I had POD.. Long story short, I've try antibiotics doesn't work then I try natural remedies also doesn't work and been going on for nearly two years... Gonna give Rosex a try and pray it will also work on me and thanks for making this video ..☺ ♥ Australia
Thank you so much for your video. I had an allergic reaction to a face wash (which I’ve never had before), which led my doctor to prescribe hydrocortisone and he didn’t tell me it could leave me with PD. I’m no longer going to that doctor and, though I’m still battling with PD, I have a better idea what to talk to whoever I see next. Thank you so much!
I am so so glad I found this. THANK YOU. I have had this for some time and I have a brilliant GP - she recognized what this was straight away, but she prescribed Metro Gel...and now I need to go back and ask her for the Rosez. I can't thank you enough!
I have also been diagnosed with peri oral dermatitis. The underlying issue was a fungal (yeast) infection on my face. I get rid of mine by using any anti fingal cream. I think Perioral dermatitis is a catchall for skin issues in that area that are not easily diagnosed
Thank you so much for this, Nadine. I’ve just been to my GP and specified the cream over the gel and I’m feeling very hopeful. I have eyelid eczema in the corners, however now I’m wondering if it could potentially be the same condition as it’s itchy and similar to the mouth area. Anyway, I’m so grateful to you for making this video. I can already feel my mouth area calming down.
Years and years ago I was diagnosed with Perioral Dermatitis and my Derm said it is often caused by using a combination of tartar control toothpaste along with an excess of cinnamon/cinnamon products. It sounded crazy to me but I realized my cinnamon breath spray, cinnamon Altoids, along with my tinted moisturizer contained cinnamate (derived from cinnamon) were probably major contributors. Who knew you could have too much cinnamon? Or that combined with ingredients in toothpaste could cause such mayhem in my skin? This was so long ago, I don't remember the cream he prescribed, but I stopped using tartar control toothpaste and eliminated my cinnamon intake and voila... no more PD and I haven't had an issue with it since then! I now use tartar control toothpaste again and might have random products with cinnamate, but I don't ever use cinnamon flavored breath spray, as I'm afraid of the overspray of concentrated cinnamon around my mouth!
I've been going to a dermatologist for acne & had a PD flare up during the course of treatment and she kind of glossed over it. I have old, long-expired metronidazole cream in the cabinet that I haven't thought to use yet (might try it since the expiration date isn't a huge deal). what I've been using instead is nizoral shampoo as face wash at night since it has ketoconazole & azelaic acid 10% from the ordinary. it pretty much stopped the spread of the rash in its tracks. so if you can't wait to get a prescription for metronidazole cream or don't want to take antibiotics, I would try an antifungal from the drugstore first
I hope and pray this helps many of you suffering for a long time. I suffered from this since November of 2023. It first started small then overtook half the bottom of my face. It burned, itched and tingled. I tried almost every natural remedy which may have made it worse. I also was prescribed metro-gel for my family doctor which made it even worse as well. The only things that worked were plan greek yogurt overnight on my face to stop the itching and I purchaed canestan external cream (2% clotrimazole cream) which is an Anti Fungal. My doctor told me that if its not caused by bacteria then its caused by a fungus. It has been 3 full days and my PD is almost Entirely healed (90%). I expect it to be fully gone by day 5. Please if any of you are frustrated then try it. I apply it 3 times per day God bless.
I used Rozex too, and worked a treat for me! That was after putting hydrocortisone on my nose area and making my PD 100x worse 😣 You don’t need to use a lot, a little goes a long way. I tried loads of different emollients and different greasy slathery concoctions before finally discovering it was PD, and I think putting such a lot of different products on only added to the problem. Thanks for making this video, it’s hard to find resources out there about how to even IDENTIFY PD as it’s so often confused with other conditions.
@@jo0mee i saw great improvement after a couple of weeks and continued using every day for about a month. I only used it on the affected area. i still have a tube and apply occasionally when i see more redness in the area if using strong/active ingredients skincare but i don’t need to use it very often
@@IzzyBean4 Hey how do you apply the Rozex ? Are u clean your face before or put your skin care routine before using the cream ? Or totally just put the cream
@@charlotte3028 I do my skincare routine up to moisturiser (so toner/essence/serum), then put the Rozex on affected areas and then apply moisturiser. I also try to not put any active ingredients like acids/retinols on the sensitive areas/around my nose.
My magic bullet was Zineryt. I suffered from PD for most of 2015. Zineryt finished it. I used it for a few months to be sure it's gone. It never came back since. I'm glad you made a video about it as I've been seeing a lot of customers with PD in spacenk... To help with dryness I was putting a nice Caudalie moisturiser.
Thank you again for a wonderful video. Any chance of a video for barrier repair in general? I have eczema on my eyelids that I use prescribed medication for. But it would be good to know how to strengthen skin during the calm periods so that it would be better prepared for the flareups.
