Well, Periphery, maybe it's time for an unplugged tour with 7 and 8 string acoustic guitars. We would sit on small tables, smoke cigars and drinking whiskey. I would come to an event like this! 🤘🏼

This song in particular helped me deal with the death of someone who was very close to me. I can never thank this band enough for the beautiful things they create. Periphery fills me with hope. Remember lads, Don't you dare go hollow.

This is my favourite song by Periphery. P4 came out over a year after I lost my best friend, but it still felt so fresh, and hearing It's Only Smiles felt like Spencer was sitting down with me, having a private conversation about loss. It moves me in ways no other piece of art has. Mike Dawes happens to be my favourite guitarist, and this treatment is absolute perfection. Seeing Spencer outside a show and getting to tell him what this song means to me, knowing what it means to him, was immensely therapeutic, and honestly somehow really helped me heal, even though it was a 15-second conversation. I'll always cherish that moment in the alley behind The Palace Theatre.

Once again proving that you need at least 4 guitarists in a band. This one has the feels in it. 😍

My goodness, Spencer's vocals are always magnificent to say the least but in this track the level of beauty in his interpretation is just out of this world. The feeling that's given to the overall interpretation plus the vocal production is just mesmerising! Congrats on this folks! It's awesome!

i love how it still has some production effects such as layered vocals, electronics, and orchestral stuff. different to other "acoustic" versions of songs. i guess its more so stripped or simplified rather than acoustic, which i kinda prefer, because again its a little different.

An unexpected yet most wonderful collaboration!

This legitimately made me cry. This song was already so ethereal and haunting in a beautiful way, but this skyrocketed it to a new level. It feels like THIS is how the song was always meant to be heard. I love how it's not an "unplugged" rendition. It still maintains the heart and soul of Periphery but in a different medium. All the layers, production, and polish we've come to expect, but in a sonically unique world. I would absolutely love to hear an acoustic album, and would pay serious money to see an acoustic only concert (akin to Avenged Sevenfold at the Grammy Museum). To round out a potential acoustic album with a choice from every release (including Scarlett and It's Only Smiles), I would choose: P1 - All New Materials Icarus - Captain On P2 - Scarlett Clear - The Summer Jam Juggernaut Alpha - Heavy Heart Juggernaut Omega - Stranger Things P3 - Lune P4 - It's Only Smiles P5 - Wax Wings
