This was their opening track for Hail Stan and Satellites is the closer (each one takes up their own whole side of a vinyl disc). They also opened with this song on their Live in London album and it sounds just as good. Much more impressive too knowing it's live. Also, in classic Periphery fashion, this epic song is about a stoner named Billy who fights off an invasion of alien lizards.

One of the last vocal melodies is repeated in Garden in the Bones as a consistent motif. Really cool continuity. Garden in the Bones is my favorite song from this album.

Was just about to comment this. It’s not the first time Periphery has done this either. They also did it with the melody of Muramasa to begin P2 and brought it back for Masamune at the end of the album. It’s super meta and I absolutely love it.

@12:41 although there is some synth work, all of the string accompaniment is real orchestral strings, and the choir vocals are also real. It's in the album documentary. Worth a watch!

The crazier thing is they opened their shows with this song during the Periphery 4: Hail Stan tour. I mean they had to right. Everyone could imagine how epic it would be for them to open this song. And they delivered. Such an experience I'll never forget. No easy task for Spencer especially. To open with this song, with how difficult the vocal parts are, switching cleans and screams back and forth with high runs.

Periphery is definitely one of my favorites. I think Absolomb is a must for you to check out. Heavy bass riff and really shows off Spencers vocals. Also Stranger things and the bad thing are a couple of my favorites off the Juggernaut album. And any song off the P2 album

One of the best parts of Reptile is reading the lyrics and listening again and realizing it’s an awesome sci-fi epic about ancient aliens returning to earth because humans have fucked it up basically bringing the apocalypse, and the stoner dude who rises up and leads the revolt. There could be an awesome animated music video to go along with this song.
