You said that you imagined the book to be taking place in the 80s, but Charlie's letters have 90s dates on them :D Anyway, I really like your approach to these reactions. It's a cool, unique concept for reaction videos. I do think the book was hinting at aunt Helen having abused Charlie before the epilogue came. I remember at point Charlie recounting a therapy session, where his therapist was asking him questions about his aunt. And Charlie wrote in his letter that the questions were confusing him and making him mad.
Yeah...I don't know where my head was at on that. I think I had it in my head that he was upset about questions/thoughts about his aunt because he had guilt that she died while getting him his birthday gift. Though they do mention Helen being abused and that really should have tipped me off as something going on there. Thanks for the comment and feedback!
Loved this reaction. I was worried at first you'd judge the movie harshly in favor of the book but that was not the case at all. Could tell you were totally into the movie, very much engaged. As far as future suggestions go, Children of Men is a fantastic book and a mind-blowing movie I whole-heartedly recommend for your channel. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this reaction. Also if you haven’t can you react to the deleted scenes of this movie, it definitely adds a lot to the movie, especially the characters relationship. ❤️
I love Nina during the pregnancy subplot scenes so much, you can tell she's a great actor in the movie (especially in the scene when she answers Charlie's call at the end) but she really really shines in those I get why they were cut and it was probably the right move, but it really shows how wholesome Charlie and Candice's relationship can be
@Meagan's Corner of course! I really believe it's one of the best book to screens ever done. The color purple is also another amazing one that most people forget bc the book is from the 80 and movie a bit after that. But wow. It's so powerful
