I really enjoyed this, as a new subscriber! I just wanted to add, I would have really enjoyed hearing more of your thoughts, I think that would really have added a lot. Don’t be discouraged from speaking, everyone has a unique perspective and has something valuable to say. Only if you want to - I’m not saying force it - just don’t limit it ;) Will enjoy checking out more vids now. I too saw this film when it came out, it floored me really emotionally. I can maybe cope with rewatching it once a decade, MAYBE! Haley really was something else as a child actor, and he was in The Boys you say?!?! Did I miss that? I will have to check it out. Thanks for a great vid!
It might have been a good idea to not watch the BBC miniseries with Colin Firth and Mr. Darcy. It's much longer than the movie, however, obviously you don't have to watch it all at once since there are breaks between episodes. That being said, the miniseries is excellent, and so is this movie.
It makes total sense that someone that has interest in TLOU would also watch this. You can see that the game took a lot of inspiration from this movie/book.
So fun to see some1 react to this, it is one of my all time favourite movies, just brings tears of all kinds I lost hope for the world when I was quite young and just the idea of anyone coming up with the idea for this book gave me hope
What really amazed me about this movie was how good J-Los and Own Wilson’s chemistry was. In hindsight the fact that they are both great actors and have been in shit together should’ve made sense, but I was shook watching this for the first time at how believable their relationship was. For an insane premise that grounded it and kept the movie from feeling to crazy. I cried at the end. 😂
The movie was to loud, noisy and boring every scene dragged on and the love story was unconvincing especially based on what I have heard about the films quality
im not sure if you got an answer as to why they all had to leave the table when mr. collins went to propose. because if i was in lizzys position and my mother said "sure! you guys can go into the drawing room!" id straight up say no thanks, im good here. all of them leaving was the perfect way to trap lizzy into staying. lol! mom was a sneak and had a lot of nerve!
I read this when it came out, and have read it a couple times since -- and am re-reading now. That's how I found your reaction. I think this is an amazing story. I love how ambiguous the disaster is. You're forced to accept the desolated world without any escape rationale or "that-would-never-happen" reaction. Oprah was really touched by this book, and she had Cormac McCarthy on her show, and I really loved that. I love the scene when the dad yells at the boy: "I'm scared! You ever think of that!" That shook me so profoundly. When I saw the dog in the movie at the very end I cried.
I can't watch this movie without bawling. a good movie based on a book is October Skies. it's based on the book Rocket Boys which was written by Nasa Executive Homer Hickam about his childhood in West Virginia .
Thank you so much for this reaction. Also if you haven’t can you react to the deleted scenes of this movie, it definitely adds a lot to the movie, especially the characters relationship. ❤️
I love Nina during the pregnancy subplot scenes so much, you can tell she's a great actor in the movie (especially in the scene when she answers Charlie's call at the end) but she really really shines in those I get why they were cut and it was probably the right move, but it really shows how wholesome Charlie and Candice's relationship can be
Couple of things. 1: He used the knife to open the soda to avoid cutting himself and to avoid infection caused by tetanus spores. 2: The character of the old traveler spits out the food part because when you go weeks, months, or years of starvation, introduction of solid foods can make you violently ill at first. This is one of the reasons hospitals will use IVs to supply nutrients to a starvation victim as they slowly get the body used to eating solid foods again. Other than that, thanks for the reaction. I do find it odd that you skipped most of the best scenes, and it didn't seem like you had much of an emotional reaction to anything, but I haven't watched your other videos so maybe that's just your personality.
Got a new sub for this react!Been looking for this react for years... thanks for doing this movie. Hope you could consider doing "As good as it Gets'. No one has done that one and it's an amazing movie!!
Surprised nobody has reacted to this movie, it's beautiful. I totally agree with it in terms of how to live your life. Also, the whole design is literally a benevolent pyramid scheme and nothing more. It's not genius haha
I don’t know if you got this anywhere in your comments already, but the reason why the mom and some of the girls were pinching their cheeks when Mr. Bingley came around to propose near the end is because it made them pink. It’s a cheap and quick way of putting blush on your cheeks. 💙💙💙
HOW ARE THERE NO COMMENTS ON THIS?! I constantly look for new reactions to this movie because I’m pretty sure I’ve seen every reaction there is on this website by now haha
Night Train to Lisbon by Pascal Mercier is a very good book and the film adaptation released in 2013 is also very good. Different, because the book has 460 pages in the translation I read, in Portuguese (I'm Brazilian). The film stars Jeremy Irons and also has the excellent Bruno Ganz and Tom Courtenay. I didn't see anyone react to this excellent film.
USA is heading straight to a situation just like in this movie! Congratulations on the American people for being so passive and cool about the whole thing.
@@mentalcupcakes8142 Well, from what I know, Americans let pedos rule and control every aspect of their fake, plastic, McDonald's corporate lives... From what I've experienced living in the USA, the people there are so apathetic to everything outside their lives... that's why they let their overlords get away with child trafficking and mass genocide. The apathy is so strong that it makes them all degenerates. I mean... they even let pedos go to their children's schools to teach them about whoring themselves and sucking d and the billion gender thing... in any other part of the world, this wouldn't stand a single second. But it's the sum of it all... it's not just the fact that Americans let pedos rule them over, but the fact that Americans truly don't care for anything outside of themselves... Their overlords want a WWIII, what have Americans done to stop their corrupt pedo government? Absolutely nothing... and things will just get dire for them. They're frogs in a boiling pot unaware that they will all die. Each frog for its own... that's the mindset they live by. The Biden guy sending billions of their taxes to corrupt countries to propagate more war... what have Americans done? nothing. Their founding fathers gave them a second amendment for these types of events and issues, but again, people there are so rotten to the core that they allow evil to thrive without any consequence whatsoever. Evil begets evil, and apathy begets apathy. This movie ain't that far from reality... the government is at war with its people, but the people are compliant and obedient passive cows. Everything can be reduced to apathy... the main God of USA. It's just disgusting to witness such a passive population letting evil do its thing... in order to be classified as good people, they need to stand for something, but they lack identity, they lack their basic humanity that was stripped away through their brainwashing education and culture. Americans don't stand for anything except starbucks and mcdonalds. Sad state of affairs.
Hi there, thanks for the comment. I unfortunately have a full time job and this is really just a hobby right now so it does take me longer than most reactioners to get out content. Sardar Udham is on my list to watch.
@@MegsCorner ok... I can understand.... Even my job did the same as u... Anyway... Hope today is ur holiday... N then weekend... So enjoy... This time🤓🤓🤓
This movie/book seems to be the most realistic post-apocalypse story. It's not going to be you and your friends killing zombies with katanas and crossbows. It would be a lot of hunger, a lot of r*pe, a lot of cannibalism, and next to zero comfort.
@@IntergalacticDustBunny It's no different then really than the people that similarly would like a The Road-type scenario where they can kill without consequences. There's probably sick fucks out there that unironically fantasize about a societal breakdown scenario, just so they can go on killing and killing as long as they need to.
