There is no way that setting the temperature is that easy. There are all kinds of MODES that the instructions describe. The thing is on constantly and is by far the loudest appliance in the kitchen. Not recommended.
I wholeheartedly agree with Granny - on both counts. I've had mine for 4 years, and I just bought a different bev center since the Perlick is annoyingly loud. I wondered about it running constantly too. At 3 years it started making a high freq whistle sound. I hate it.
