Latest one is a Russian woman who refused to leave her shoes or drink outside when entering a shop, which had signs prohibiting both. She didn't like the pregnant Thai shopkeeper telling her to obey the signs, so she kicked her a couple of times. I expect she'll be getting deported too.

@@UTCM The news mentioned that her boyfriend tried to contact a local politician to ask her to end the case. Thai lady didn't stop. It's interesting to know how this will end.

@@grahammurray7426 As a matter of fact, the case has already been proceeded according to Thai laws. According to Thai news, fine will be much more than 500 baht for sure, with jail time up to 2 years! If she is lucky not to go to jail, she will most likely be deported and blacklisted!

Bill you and Lek should head south in the Smoggy season, what they don't like people knowing is, Potential dust inhalation health effects include shortness of breath, lung disease and scarring, cancer, fibrosis, and more. Particles on the finer end of the respirable dust scale can cause inflammation of the heart, raising the probability of heart disease or a potentially fatal attack down the line. Long term would be detrimental to your health, Once upon a time CM had very clean fresh air, not now!!!

Normally we travel during this time of year . But this year and last have had to stay in CM and tough it out . Next year will be different I hope .

Re : Fish and Chips . Advertised on menu as 'haddock' or 'cod' on the menu . I ordered the haddock . Never saw haddock this shape . Was , in fact , local catfish . Taking the fish !

@@UTCM I am planning to relocate and retire to Pattaya from Canada towards Sept-Oct 2024 or no later than 2025. I have traveled the world and wherever I go, I research the laws pertaining to that particular country and observe them. As the saying goes: You don't shit in your own backyard! I was in Thailand 40 years ago and loved it. I have never wavered in wanting to spend my retirement years in the Land of Smiles.

We were excited to visit the fish and chip shop after Walkabout Wayne recommended it, he’s English and so am I so I thought Wayne would know. We were so disappointed, not like English fish and chips at all, tasteless fish, frozen chips and the malt vinegar in the Heinz bottles was so watered down…. Yuk. It was so expensive too for 3 people 1505baht….. they didn’t even knock off the 5 baht despite seeing us fumbling around to find it so they didn’t get a tip😂😂

We’ve been a few times for quick visits Bill but not wanted to bother you knowing you weren’t feeling well and staying safe. Glad to hear your feeling better than ever now though and we will be back mid May if you and Lek feel like lunch? This time we’re seriously looking at areas, houses and cars that will be suitable for us to bring our dogs at the end of the year, any extra advice ( mainly health care as I know your happy with yours , will be appreciated ) we’ll be at WVS walking the dogs a couple of times.

You got to be on your best behavior in a foreign country. I don't know what people are thinking. I had a run in with a persistent vendor at the beach, who wouldn't leave me alone, I wasn't interested in their wares. I gathered my stuff and walked away. Next day, same thing. Well, best to find another area to hang out in, and that's what I did, problem solved. No need for violence that's for sure. Ought to be immediate lifetime ban for starters, that would solve the problem.

people are travelling to make trouble it sounds like. imagine if the 60 year old ladies family gotten involved, could be bad for troublesome tourist, getting arrested is but one thing that can happen, surprised he didnt get a beat down himself to be honest. thais got that muay thai blood. i wouldnt mess with them

It's been in the News here in NZ, Bill. I can't help but feel there might be more to this than what meets the eye. Why did they take the Cop's gun? Why did they feel that was necessary? Anyway, it will all come out in a wash, i guess.

That was my question as well . On one of the videos I heard them say he tried to kill them . Still bottom line is you dont run from the cops ...... You dont take there gun away ... It will be interesting to hear the other side ..

That NZ brothers failed to bribe themselves out and that cop pulled his mobile phone trying to record them before they could runaway and that was a start off for a fight. The cop tried to pull his gun out in defending himself against the physical attack and that's what we seen on the VDO of those two brothers attempting to take the gun away from the cop. It's only a traffic stop which would result in fine but both of them landed themselves in a very serious case involving long jail time. Feel bad for them.

At least the other Swiss guy was assaulted with a water bottle and went too far in his response. I believe in many Asian countries the concept of "excessive self defensive" is a chargeable offense.
