I'm not sure you can describe Peroni as a Pilsner. When I think Pilsner I think pure malt lager, aggressively carbonated and warm/malty. Peroni Nastro Azzurro is sharp because of the maize and sweet too. But its overall finish is quite dry. I'd say it's more like a dry pale lager than a Pilsner. I don't think they ever made it to be a Pilsner, it's just an Italian style refined lager.
