Todor, I use the Foundry paint system for my Napoleonics. They are colour matched for the period. Alternatively, you can use whatever paints you have. You will just need a good dark blue for the French coats.

Not at all difficult Drake. The box is actually designed for head swaps. To that end the heads are easy to cut off using the collar as a guide. There are some "retreat from Russia" heads in the box as well as an alternative head for the officer. I think your idea sounds really good, you should do it. Although I don't know what kind of joins the Perry Austrian box has on its heads. Although, even if it is a ball joint it won't be hard to fit with a bit of cutting.

I think the extra drum goes with the extra arms on the middle figure so you can have a second drummer if you want

Any recommended paint sets or pots for French Infantry and horses?

Great looking figures. I would've preferred some of them to be headless though as opposed to physically having to cut them off. When heads are swapped can you tell the difference, is it a little messy?

What do you mean by Dip? What do you dip them in?

If I wanted to change one of the heads, I assume I need to cut one off myself and attach the new one?
