Her retirement is effective on Friday, July 28, according to a statement posted to the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry's website.
THANK YOU! My daughter (an inmate) has told me that yes- misters at the phones, ice and coolers. Erica- you are my hero for bringing this out in the open. I am not an Arizona resident or I would be joining those families in support of their loved ones. I know you gotta be as worried about this as I am. Thanks again for some progress!
They don't tell you about all the legal donuts and goodies and stuff that the staff brings in and sell to the prisoners highly illegal what makes you think they're going to do anything about the AC
The private prison system is a joke. MOst of these women need rehabilitation and not prison. Yet we overcrowd the prisons and torture them to benefit thier own pockets.
That is not the issue. Supposed to be punishment, not torture or death. Perhaps some prisoners don't have AC at home, but they would have access to malls, friends, cooling centers, public libraries. I point out also, that there are some imprisoned that may actually be innocent- the Innocence Project in many states is alive and well.
@@katiedid1851This is my concern, People who are incarcerated on trumped up charges or completely innocent of the charges. As well as inmates who are doing time for minor crimes, such as being late paying tickets(?) , Possession of…(because of addiction) etc..
I heard that AC units were purchased for the Santa Cruz and Lumley yards and geard to be put in, then the Wardens building AC broke, so she decided to swap it out for one of the new ones purchased for the cells.
Agreed. I have often said I'd rather have my daughter sober & alive in prison than dead on the street. Not street smart- but a self-medicated alcoholic for severe anxiety. Led to doing something really dumb when drunk- and hardly remember ms any of it. However, that's too hot to be housed and inhumane. Getting rid of mental hospitals for prisons as a rehab is BS in itself.
Back in the days on Santa Maria yard are they used to people in tents in the heat woth a swamp cooler . And how much do they make off each woman each year? And they can fix the ac?
