Perseverance Hall collapses, another New Orleans landmark lost 

This house fell down because of decades of neglect by the people who pretended to care about it.

Why hasn't over the years that building been kept up and repair s when needed

But Cantrell can spend $60,000 $ traveling!

As the guy said, this is a big part of what New Orleans is about.......everything decrepit and falling down the ground.

It's pitiful down here na....not the same New Orleans no mo.....

Not my problem. If you wanted that building to be still standing, you should had PRESERVED it... Get it!!!

I know people who have taken wood from destroyed famous buildings and made guitars out of it. Its actually the Trouts Tavern in Bakersfield ca.

Because of termite damage the only thing holding the city up is paint ...The Quarter is slowly falling down ..

Well yeah, this is what happens when you live in a culturally neglectful government

People really are going to have to stop connecting current physical objects with historical memories. Enjoy life as it happens, take pics/films, clip the stories in the papers, and call it good. Set up an online museum or whatever, but really, eventually, you're just going to have to let the physical objects go. That goes for monuments to greatness and to massive fails. People are homeless, poor, dying.... People need care. That's what matters. If everyone really valued their fellow humans, they'd stop worrying about all this petty nonsense, trying to pay far more than God Himself could ever be worth to keep monuments intact or restored, and they'd start putting whatever money is to be had towards the care of their fellow humans instead. Before anything else, that should come first.
