It's easy to judge and cast aside someone and say "oh you're just sad, things will get better" when it comes to depression, but it's way more complicated than that. There are treatments for depression, just like any other illness. But for some people those treatments aren't effective, again as long as the person is cognitive enough to make that decision. It's their life, their choice... point is they should be allowed to make that choice. And if they do choose to end their own life, let it be under medical supervision rather than doing it themselves in some gruesome fashion.

In a lot of ways, we treat our pets with more humane care and compassion than people when it comes to end of life. We literally force people to suffer through the duration of a terminal illnesses until it kills them. I'm not saying we should have suicide booths on every corner, and I'm not saying that it should be glorified at all. I'm saying people should have the right to have the choice whether to suffer or to end their life provided they are of sound mind to make that choice. If they so choose, it should be handled by professional psychologists and medical staff with steps such as counseling sessions, meeting with doctors etc. beforehand so the person is fully cognitive and aware of the decision. They should be treated with kindness, compassion, respect and dignity. It's definitely not a popular opinion, but it's just that, an opinion. Either way, it's an interesting discussion. There was a movie a while back called "How To Die In Oregon". It's absolutely heartbreaking, but it talks about all of that and it's an interesting look at people who have chosen that path, their stories and reasons why and legislature behind the legality of medically assisted end of life.

I've been treated for depression for over 10 years. At times, I have been suicidal. Let me make it clear. I want a fucking cure. I do not want people working on better ways to kill me more efficiently. I want scientist's spending their whole careers to find my cure. Also are people really not aware of hospice and it's purpose? But then I don't hear it mentioned much any more. Too slow.

There is no such thing as "End Days/Time." It's just an "End to a new beginning." Our days might be finished, but the Universe and reality don't give a sht about how you feel or your opinion. Just enjoy your time here on this Earth

Suicide is a sin because it's the murder of the self, and you don't give yourself life nor give yourself purpose. You affect this world and those around in ways you may never fully realize in this life. There's mercy killing, but this is different. You can make the decision for an animal without asking it. The animal can't commit suicide like that. It's just you killing an old dog. With humans, it's complicated with rights and such. You can't just kill a man because he's sick. And, there's no true guaranteed peaceful passing. Death is death.

What makes you think everyone who dies is going to be at peace. There is no such thing as a peaceful passing for someone who's going to hell.
