The P2 duology is honestly really unique. I loved the concept of rumors coming to life and traversing dungeons in a modern setting. This honestly blew my mind as a kid. Plus the music and cool characters.

I love the “Doppelgänger” poem in this opening. And Tatsuya looks really cool on his bike.

My heart almost stopped. Remakes of the P2 games are what we need.

The game I’ve used in my English studying. Passing around 70% of the game, I wrote down and memorized about 3000 unknown English words. P.S. I’m not a native, but studied English via games.

if you're wondering, the text is from 'Der Doppelgänger', written by Heinrich Heine and set to music by Franz Schubert. the song was actually used again in Persona - trinity soul - as the theme of the Marebito!

Absolutely love Persona 2, both IS and EP. We *need* remakes, or at the very least modern ports with English translations of both.

Persona 2's story was SO GOOD.

The P2 Duology is definitely my favorite part of the series. The way that the main characters bond, going into the Velvet Room with your party members and hearing them share their thoughts, the way the plot escalates exponentially, all the painful and bittersweet moments in the end. It's absolutely the most beautiful narrative in the series.

That's a throwback. Next one is going to be from my favorite in the persona series. I grew up playing eternal punishment

In my opinion Persona 2 (IS and EP) is the best Persona game, great history, characters (by the way Tatsuya best protagonist) and even the music. I love this game!

This is such an epic opening. It doesn't need lyrics(intelligle) or a singular colour scheme to be entertaining, it just needs great scene writing and it's music is great. It's not some anime opening, it's a game's opening.

Man id love to play this again, I hope we get a remastered version at some point.

I got so excited when I saw Persona 2. ;-; But really, both Persona 2 games and BOTH iterations of each had incredible openings. Haunting and also heart-pounding.

Since this was made before Persona went insanely mainstream, imagine how much more coverage it could get if it came back remade?

Persona 2 Eternal Punishment was amazing, made such an impact on me. I dare to say it's my number 1 Persona. Please Atlus make a remake obviously with some life quality improvement and easy mode. All Persona fans from P3 to P5 don't know what they are missing out on. Story and art are amazing.

I like all of them only because they explore different avenues of the human psyche or rather different routes to acceptance of ones self through our flawed selves and kind of nice reliving my younger days.

Beautiful intro. Amazing how persona began with such dark tone. I just really got into the series. Honestly, I would die if they put the early games on a compilation of some kind! I've been playing a rom of the original Digital Devil story from the Famicom. It's all so fun!

Probably my favorite mainline game narrative and character-wise I will say I do prefer the PSP intro because the visual imagery makes a bit more thematic sense and does a better job of actually representing the game's story and setting expectations

Love this game. My favorite story in the series. I remember being hooked on the translated version back in the day but the PSP remaster was even better in some ways. Can't go wrong with Persona!

i've only ever played the psp version, so this is my first time seeing the playstation op. very goosebumps inducing. but persona 2 thoooooooooooo. what a damn game. what an experience. no matter what kind of reservations i had about the gameplay before playing it, the storyline more than made up for it. to this day, still one of the most memorable games i have played, alongside strange journey (ds). recommend it to anyone AND everyone

The story,the,symbolism and the characters in the persona 2 duology is an absolute masterpiece, I think this game deserves a better attention,maybe the modern day persona fan doesn't like this game because it's a 2d game or something,but once you really really played this game you don't even care if it's 2D, it's just that good.

The Doppelganger opening gives me goose bumps every time I listen to it, it's just so haunting and sad.

Please, PLEASE give us a remake of the P2 Duology. Or at the very least, a remaster. These are incredible games that are unfortunately inaccessible to so many people, but without the hardware limitations, and with some QOL adjustments, they could find the success they deserve.

My prayers have been answered! P2 remakes are coming! Very excited and I'm gonna keep an eye out for this for sure!

Persona 2, el mejor juego de Persona! Y esa intro tan majestuosa!

Man, P2 was a wild ride as a kid. I was too young to understand the complex narrative, so playing the remake in the PSP when I got older was such an adventure. I wish they did the same treatment for P2 Eternal Punishment (to localized PSP remake, I mean), but hopefully, we do get a modern adaptation.

ah yes, back when the "Persona" concept makes sense, it is about people wearing masks defending on what situation they are in, you wear masks everytime you talk to people, socialize and how you deal with your everyday lives, something which the new Persona games lack, no one is special, everyone is the same, everyone has a demon inside they have to deal with and that is what makes the older titles so special. Persona 2, IS and EP are my most favorite of the persona series, Innocent Sin, as the name suggests, committing a sin because of innocence and Eternal Punishment is the punishment for that sin and for it's atonement, P2EP especially having a more mature character roster contrary to all Persona games having characters on their teens at most, P2EP have more serious tones and more mature themes which is what I love about that game.

Another wonderfully moody opening featuring series best boy. Absolutely entrancing.

It's nice to see the opening without the stuttering, like when I played the English translation of this game via burned disc on my ps1. I've since installed an Xstation but by that point I was nearing the end of Eternal Punishment

The Persona 2 games remain my favorite Persona titles to this day. I wish that Atlus was able to reclaim some of the human beauty and weirdness that defined them and blend it with the stylish elegance of modern Persona.

i've heard of the Persona series very briefly to as with many more in the 2010s to playing Persona 4 golden on PC and having a blast! can't wait for more openings to drop to see the history of the series given I'll have zero nostalgia but no doubt know they'll be some banger music!

I think the announcement might be P1 and/or P2 remasters and ports. The announcement is this month and they are putting out openings for the first 3 games. Maybe they could be related. Or not.

If you are coming in from 3-5 the tone of the first 2 games are so different it does not feel like it came from the same franchise (of course because the early instalments are following the smt feel since its a spinoff of it), but I find it fascinating how much the series has evolved to what we see it as today.
