I knew my history teacher was wrong. Hitler didn't try to conquer Europe, he used the Spear of Destiny and summoned a God of Chaos to try to kill some high school kids.
@@kimetsu_kids Well... not the REAL Nyarlathotep. Just a collective manifestation of humanity's meanest psychological traits as defined by Carl Jung. If it were the actual outer god, then he wouldn't have lost at the end of Eternal Punishment. Hell, he'd have manipulated cause-and-effect such that everything the PCs did ended up benefiting him. He also wouldn't have needed to use rumors to shift reality.
@@draconicthemoelion7726 there is the megalith as the history monument in the P2 that philemon is spelled out as the actual human(monk) and nyarlathotep as the evil spirit that was defeated by him. also, the demons and deities in the story are the output of every humankind dreams and desires, appears from the unconscious realm as the persona, and utterly not actual beings. then, only in P2, Philemon, and nyarlathotep is not a creation of jungs, or, lovecrafts, but the mythical being on ancient inscription. For these reasons... I considered that the cthulhu mythos doesn't even exist in P2 in the first place.
The Last Batallion and the freaking Fuhrer (Hitler) as a persona user wielding a legendary biblical weapon are some of the reasons why Persona 2 is arguably the best in the series.
Its litterally the most cruel and hardcore to any character, yes, you fight a godof control in a pseudo-magical realm, but these guys just have personas on a flying ship of the real world!
Persona 2 is more overrated than Persona 5. The Gameplay is atrociously Boring bland and Slow. I skipped most, if not all of the fights by using auto battle because the game was just not fun. Persona 2 would've been better off as a visual novel with boss fights in between. The Characters however were amazing, but the main story was just okay. The only reason I kept playing was because I'm a stubborn fuck and the character moments I got in between the mindless minutia of gameplay. Even on double speed, the fights are as slow as molasses.
@@PhthaloGreenskinI hope the Persona 2 remake that was leaked a while back makes the gameplay fun With a better gameplay this could definitely be the best game in the series imo (I haven't played EP yet tho)
I wonder what Hitler's persona would be? It's gotta be a Germanic/Nordic deity, but which one would fit him the best? I suppose Fenrir might be a good candidate.
I honestly think that they might not continue the series. Atlus has shown a lot of loyalty to Igor's late VA, and he's not even in the background of P5:Scramble. I'm expecting more spinoffs, but no new flagship titles.
That song is basically how you feel when discovering who the bad guys are. Just thrown into disarray at the prospect of something so out there was the truth... That's persona 2 and I love it for that.
@@zaqareemalcolm True, I bet that can Atlus can justify the thing by making more explicit that hittler were not called, but he was part of a rumor that was made to summon Xibalba, basically a Furher were supposed to appear, and a Nazi were supposed to be leading them like a crusade, so then, he appeared as he were the most common reference of the mases of a Nazi Fuhrer
@@CarlosSilva-bh4bi a really cool detail was the whole hitler thing was based on actual conspiracy theories of hitler secretly surviving ww2 and fleeing somewhere
only in persona can you fight the nazi germany leader himself who summons a persona of the lovecraftian god but also wields the same spear used to stab Jesus ah classic Megaten moment
When I found out persona 2 let’s you fight Hitler my first 2 question were A( does it have a badass battle them?) and B( is it satisfying to beat the ever loving shit out of him)
Persona 5 DLC; Hitler: So, resurrected again, I wield this lance of everlasting wounds and recreate a world of oppression and military dictatorship! Ryuji: ...the history books weren't lying about this asshole and speeches. Ann: Beat the German Dictator first, historical accuracy review later.
@@JamesTheTurnbull Not to mention azathoth is the elder god who basicly dreams the entire existence of everything. he could oneshot everything by just needing to take a piss lol
@@curnott6051 Mein Kampf notated the benefits that Japanese had however. If they had won the war they realstically would've probably shared the world like in the Man in High Castle show
That was back then and the heroes of Persona 2 are not exactly Japanese Nationalists, in fact, one of them had been abused by her weaboo father the entirety of her life until she learned to fight back and not to succumb to her shadow.
Ahh nothing pumps me more than a boss fight which involves an Austrian painter turned dictator of the third german reich that can summon lovecraftnian horror monsters and wields the spear that was used to stab JesusChrist !!
@@danielmayonaka8818 you know both games were released within the same months right? They just had similar styles in a very small amount of themes so I would hardly say that is the case.
Meguro was a young composer back during the P1 and P2 era. He did compose a few tracks for the first game, especially the Velvet Room's theme (which has been in every game since the first one). But he was busy composing for Devil Summoner,Maken X and Nocturne during the time the Persona 2 duology was developed. The PSP version of the P2 duology may not have compositions by Meguro (unlike the entirely remade P1 soundtrack which earned backlash) but Meguro was the director of the PSP versions and supervised the remixing of the soundtrack. I may also add that while the fanbase of the P2 games seem to be attached to the former soundtrack, the composers themselves have actually even described the soundtrack as a product of the times, basically calling it outdated.
@@LeonGun8 Yeah, the P1 and P2 soundtracks are clearly stylistically different from Meguro's trademarks. Interesting that the composers see the P2 score as outdated, because I feel that it's one of the better-aged PS1 JRPG soundtracks with nice variations between the games. EP especially had some great synth samples that still sound great.
@@GorditoCrunch343 maybe it's an interpretation on what they meant? Like maybe they meant that "it fit during the time it was created to show off the game for what it is" instead of "yeah it wasn't made with quality, we just adjusted to the style of the time, forget about it lol".
@@LeonGun8 I’ve seen a few people say that the composers felt like the original soundtrack is a product of its time. Could you point me to a source for that? Thanks
I messaged Atlus for Persona 1 and 2 remake!! They answered and said they were going to take that in consideration!! This is for the first Protagonists!! #AtlusFreeP5tits
