If they could patch/mod in the old elemental spell animations, it would be the best of both worlds because the physical skills in Reload are superior to those in any other version of P3.
Not Satan just STANDING there for Reload At least they could've supersized the model so he's more menacing-looking if they were going to strip away the cross-posing.
11:39 Ghastly Wail being classified as almighty has strong gameplay implications because even shadows and personas that resist or null dark will be affected by it. In P5 it also makes it so that tetraja won't save the victim as it only works on light and dark attacks. It's actually possible to one shot bosses that are immune to dark but susceptible to fear with the spell.
they usually code in instant ko "ailment" immunity separately which is also why there can be minibosses weak to light/dark for the kouha and eiha but still wont get killed by hama/mudo the exception is in fortune and strength fight in the original p3/fes/portable where you can use ghastly wail to kill them if you use the roulette to give them fear
I love Getsu-ei! You can get it before the Empress/Emperor boss and just completely destroy the early game (I one-shotted Empress with Auto-Tarukaja lmao)
Thank you for the comparisons! Would love to see a comparison of the parties skills to their OGs...tbh I just wish the magic spells and personas were a little more dynamic like P5 or SmTV
Isn't Diviine Judgement a Fusion Spell in p3p/fes? edit: nvm the fusion spell was last judge edit: I knoew Heat Riser came from OG P3's Best Friends Fusion Spell
On the plus side, the break skills are now actually worth using since they guarantee you can spam AoE magic without worrying for 3 turns and they can't be dispelled.
@arsann8701 Not really. Physical skills won't deal increased damage or give you extra turns like hitting elemental weaknesses will, and you can't use theurgies every turn. Also, it's not as if using a break spell prevents the use of physical skills, it just adds another attacker that would otherwise be a dead weight unable to contribute. Also, it's not as if using a break prevents anyone else from the party from using physical skills. Investing a single turn to allow another party member to contribute for 3 turns instead of being a doorstop is far from useless.
@@mappybc6097 this is why team comp is crucial to prevent deadweight members. phy moves crit very often with apt pupil and crit amp and auto rebellion, bypassing the need for careful elemental matchups. on merciless magic dmg is straight ass until VERY late game and by then u wud have alr gotten used to the far more reliable physical dmg beforhand. even almighty dmg is quite underwhelming compared to both phy and elemental dmg, unless u get almighty amp from a lucky mutation. teammates should have AT LEAST 2 backup skills they can use if their respective element is ineffective (debuffs, status ailments, healing, buffs etc....) and if nothing else should use and item to fill any of those aforementioned purposes. items are not scarce at all in this game so dont be afraid to use them, even on merciless. even allies can benefit more from physical dmg than mag dmg, especially if their strength is high enough. junpei and aigis come to mind as EVERYONE else does pretty mediocre phy dmg even wit the right equips. also, distress is a great and ez way to greatly boost physical dmg AND get a near guaranteed crit as compared to straight elemental dmg. also, theurgies are ALWAYS the better thing to use instead of breaks and are not hard at all to build up especially wit soul fortune on. (literally all dmg theurgies also pierce resistances so theres that as well) ofc, elemental dmg is nice at times and is just cool to spam, but ultimately the benefits of magic dmg as a whole are HUGELY inferior to physical dmg. this mostly applies to merciless mode tho as dmg dealt there is reduced compared to easier modes obviously, so in the end its up to you how you want to play the game and have fun. this is just a relatively definitive guide to dealing good dmg in Merciless, so have fun however u want. P.S. elizabeth is a FAR different story from how u can steamroll nearly the entire game with solely physical attacks, and obviously extensive preparation for dealing good magic dmg as well is necessary there, BUT that is an ENTIRELY different ballpark altogether so dont worry bout it...
While the giant snowflake forming for p3r bufudyne is neat. Nothing will beat CUBE bufudyne. Also, im not a fan of the new mudo spell look, and both hama and mudo not having a field variant for their ma- versions is definitely a downgrade. And if I'm going to be honest og p3's version of die for me was definitely the most visually appealing. P5 and P3R's kinda make it too much of a joke imo.
100% Agree with everything here. The cube shattering is something you'd see in a ASMR video lol. While I like the lights out and skull animation of the new mudoon, it kinda sucks that the ma version is just more skulls! SMTVs die for me is definitely my favorite, it's an actual recreation of OG persona 3s.
I agree about the mahama/mamudo downgrades. I also think some of the physical skills in reload are a bit much. The fatal end scythe animation is too cheesy. And the cruel attack drills are also kind of lame. Sometimes Less is more
I really don't like that they change the name for the ultimate attacks for Fire and Ice, I preffer a hundred times Ragnarok than Inferno. Great video dudee suscribe
This is one my only complaints about the new games presentation. I feel like persona 5 made the magic attacks feel as powerful as they actually are but in reload every attack feels slow
