Just beat this boss myself the other day on Merciless at Level 10. Friend of mine and I were both simultaneously fighting it and updating each other, LOL I am incredibly satisfied with the difficulty of Merciless in this game so far because this was an incredible first boss. Hope the rest of the game is the same!
In the original game, I had like 4 minutes to defeat the priestess. So when I went into this I laughed thinking 30 minutes was far too generous…oh how I was so wrong 2 minutes later
When I saw 30 minutes I thought they made it more forgiving for newer players and I kind of made me mad because I wanted a challenge She proceeded to use call of chaos twice and she even Gameovered me once
A tip for this boss is that it has a hidden weakness to fire. You can make a unicorn that nullifies ice, and has a fire attack. And maybe tarunda. The fusion is ara mitima and something else The strategy is have Junpei and M.C. Spam agi and have yukari spam media. Have M.C. use raunda or tarunda periodically. Use which ever or both depending if you value killing the boss faster or outlasting it.
In modern Persona games, physical skills tend to be dominant in terms of dealing damage (it seems to be the case for P3R too), that's why I didn't think of using magic attack lol.
@@Beep841 i look at the base powers in the Table ID themselves saying phys are higher. but yes for p5r phys is the meta early game, magic midgame, and phys again lategame.
Real talk, I decided to recreate my very first run of P3 in this version, where I basically ignored all of Tartarus until I was forced to climb all of it in one go at the end, and A) I did not expect Mitsuru to scold me so harshly for ignoring Tartarus within the very first moon cycle, and B) I did *_NOT_* expect this boss to be carrying such a heavy-hitting all target magic attack. I was planning on spamming Tarukaja as Makoto, but that attack hit so hard even in Normal that I was basically pulling double healing duty with him and Yukari most of the fight, and I even had to use a revive item once still. I remember I had hard times with the later main bosses on my very first run due to how I went about it, but they didn't lie when they said they ramped up their difficulty in this version, geez...
Doing a Orpheus only run on merciless made this boss rutheless. I got a game over once and barely made it on my second attempt with like 10 seconds left. I was hysterical.
cleared this yesterday. Hardest fight by far due to my own stupidity, arrogance, and stubbornness. Forgot to auto recover before fighting and was barely able to survive Ice Storm. Kept fighting it instead of healing because I was lazy
been playing on hard and it seems really toned down compared to FES. just unlocked theurgia and it feels easier than normal used to. is merciless closer to FES hard? or is it harder?
