I'll never forget the fist time I played through this section. After the cut scene when Ryuji says" "Aren't heroes that lurk in the shadows boring?", I replied truthfully, "I like the shade." and he replied: "What are you, moss?" And I just cracked up!
In real Joker is the best hahaha. He manage all of a group of phantom thieves. He is beautiful. He is smart. He is athletic and badass in some way. He manages to make new relationships with a lot of people: detective, profesional shogi player, a politician, a nice gymnastic... Also he is with all of them, and he listen all of their problems like an active listening person. He manage to manipulate all to join to his group. All the phantom thieves actions starts because of Joker.
Okay, I just really wanted to talk about this because I noticed it in my playthrough of Royal after finishing base P5 like 2 years ago and haven't seen *anyone* mention this, but at 2:53, you can see that Joker's bag is cross-body. Everywhere else the casual brown bag he uses is a hand bag, and at first I couldn't tell if he was able to extend it, but after checking in game and comparing the bag at 3:05, it's a different bag entirely. This bag doesnt have the handles connected to the middle section and is more and a satchel. Then I thought it must be specific to the animation, but after watching some scenes from the animation, the bag there is the exact same as the one in game. I've come to the conclusion that this is probably the *only* scene where Joker's bag is different, therefore inconsistent. Yeah, I have too much time on my hands and I easily fall into rabbitholes. I just really wanted to mention this.
Which is why I only call Ryuji, Brosuke. In honor of the bro who came before him. Also why idk why people ship Protag & Ann. Ryuji is her beloved idiot

Makoto looks gorgeous in her yukata, a true Japanese beauty😍😍 But man I'm disappointed by the sparse amount of funny/ slice of life scenes there are in this game. This was probably the third one (I think?) so far, after the buffet celebrating their win over Kamoshida and the hangout at Leblanc with Yusuke where they got to know more about each other. And even then the firework is cancelled and the scene is too freaking short. This doesn't mean that I want another Persona 4 , or Golden which added even more funny scenes, but almost the entire game you're focused on your job as the Phantom Thieves and all the talk is about that. Almost no funny moments in-between.
The one time my mother saw me playing Persona 5 was when Morgana was freaking out over Kamoshida's treasure, then saying "is this game meant for little kids?" Then Kamoshida happened and she's like "oh...."
@RustyBoi RIGHT? After this comment I had a much worse scenario that’s similar to yours where I was deeply into the game at that moment to the point where I forgot I was in reality. I was in the basement playing on the big movie theatre screen and it showed a deep anime cutscenes with Ann crying about how much she hates Kamoshida and my mom was apparently watching behind me for a couple minutes and she yelled, “are you sure this game is appropriate!?!?!?!” with the most shocked face and I had the biggest heart attack. I am SO thankful I finished the game so I don’t have to worry about her being always being so skeptical about the game.

I agree that Ryuji doesn't deserve most of the hate half of the time, but here, I was like "You're on your own dude" Cuz, to be fair, he kinda deserved it in this moment. He came up with the idea to go to the fireworks festival for Makoto's welcoming party, he got impatient, he tries to convince the guys to go with a couple of strange girls and ditch their friends from their appointed meeting time, thinking that an apology would be enough. If I were Ann and Makoto, I would easily be pissed at him too. And I don't really sympathize with him when Mona mocks him for failing, because he keeps saying that he doesn't bother studying and says they aren't important anyway. He brought it on himself to not study.

first of all it's a no brainer to go after them all i'm not particularly big on the harem routes( in fact i dislike 'em) u should choose the waifu u'r most interested in and let me add that a real man should be faithfull and loyal to his friends and his lover so in every persona game i have ever player i only went after only one girl in persona 3 was aigis no other , in persona 4 none , in persona 4 golden marie ( she was my type so i went with the flaw ) and in persona 5 i still don't have a ps4 but most likely i'll go with makoto simply because she's an explosion of emotions and cute to boot!!!
Yeah. Agreed with the whole commitment thing, but I personally go for Ann more, because of how much she's been through and how she wants to better herself as a model. Her arc felt more compelling to me, and the fact that she only requires level 2 kindness, symbolizes how highly she trusts Joker and the scene where she confided in him about Shiho's situation just really touched me, and the fact that she was the first of the Phantom Thieves to truly see Joker for who he is. Not to mention they kiss when you get her to rank 10 in the romance route. Makoto just feels a bit too bland and boring for me. She's not bad and I do like the friendship route with her, but I don't see her as girlfriend material.
I'm sorry but it's just unrealistic for Ann to not fall for Ryuji, a cutie with a heart of gold. They have sooo many moments like this & it makes me sad bc they'd be so cute!! 😭
