It's super messed up that the girls beat Ryuji up after he saved there lives, but it's also messed up that Joker and Yusuke let it happen. They did NOTHING to help him. After they beat him up Yusuke is literally like, "I'm hungry".

I hope y'all can realize how great Ryuji character is from this vid. Yes he is an idiot sometimes anf very loud, but he had a rough past with his fathers abuse. Kids can sometimes end up like that from abuse(I'm not 100% sure on that I saw a vid talking about Ryuji's character could be wrong) The point I'm trying to make is that Ryuji is often viewed a comedy relief when there is a LOT more to his character. He does idiotic things i.e. him taking about the phantom thieves out in public. However he has helped the phantom a lot to the point where he almost dies which kinda makes up for his idiocy. But when the rest find out that he was alive, they just abused him and didn't even thank him because appearantly to Atlus, a boy who seemingly almost died for the sake for others and getting abused after idoing that is "funny." I cab see why people would get made if one of there friends was thought to be dead but it ended up being a hoax because the person was trying to pull off a pranj, but I don't think you shoyld be made if someone never intentionally want to think he was dead and while at SAVE YOUR GOD DAMN LIFE! Not to mention that he is very caring for his mom and all the other phantom thieves. Yeah he and morgana fight a lot but a lot of it starts mostly from morgana making fun of him constantly even when he doesn't say anything. I honestly think that this man deserves at least some moment of actual respect. I know this is a long comment, but I honestly just needed to say that because while Ryuji may not br my fav character(2nd best boi) he deserves respect.... A LOT OF IT!!!!

In all honesty, Junpei, Yosuke, and Ryuji are my favorite characters not just because they're Bros, but because they all have bad circumstances and yet they try to be happy and fight their asses off. They all have many accomplishments and are extremely reliable friends, plus their personalities are like gold. Yes, they have flaws, but who doesn't? Do they deserve the extremely underrated and downright insulting treatment they get? Absolutely not. This is why I hold these characters deep in my heart. P.S. thanks for reading this, I've always wanted to say this because I love these characters and hate how they're treated in the fanbase as well.

May fav part of that 'Ryuji is our fastest runner' thing is that Big Brain Makoto over there just completely fuckin forgot that she literally has a summonable bike that could have been used to get there way faster. Same with chasing Morgana in mementos during *that* arc in the plot.

Ryuji is the unsung hero of Persona 5 and those additional voice overs were great.

During my first playthrough of the game, I deadass almost bawled when the ship exploded and we thought we lost Ryuji. The amount of disrespect he gets truly hacks me off. He deserves so much resect. I've honestly prolly cried over Ryuji than over anything in the whole game...

I forgot how much I hate the Shinjuku scene. God knows what they could’ve done to him! And Ren, the trusted leader and Ryuji’s best friend, just lets him get dragged away by them. Like this is not ok???

I felt really bad that the game didn't let me go and help Ryuji after he was beat up by the girls, i mean, come on, he was trying to light the mood, it was probably the worse thing to say, but it wasn't that bad so they should have beat him up... And it was at that moment the game betray me, it didn't let me help my bro, it just made me part of the a-holes that didn't got it... And it was the first game in a while, with a silent protagonist, that made me put on his skin... And he betray me at that moment.

Although i kinda hated the one in the end of the video where Ryuji gets beat up by his friends. I just felt that was kinda mean spirited on what they did to him and just left him there where a stranger out of nowhere could've kidnapped him or take his money or do god knows what to him while he's unconscious with no one around watching out for him. Although i understand they were kinda pissed but still. They could've bring his unconscious body with them or send him home or something. The developers could've made it where his friends did beat him up but only a little bit to the point where he's still conscious.

Want a version for Yusuke! I hate how they simply treat him as a wacko and constantly diss on his artwork. They keep forgetting the kind of life he had with Madarame and how it still affects him. Actually, in general, the Thieves are douchebags to each other. The ones that suffer less are Futaba (because she's smol and the trauma) and Makoto (because she is metal mom). The rest are constantly shunned by the others. Even Ann does not get the level of respect she has clearly asked for. Uuurgh! I want Atlus to fix that in their P5 "golden" version.

The recurring cutscene of the girls inflicting comedic overkill abuse on the boy/s has to be there, hasn't it? -_- Everyone would raise hell if Yosuke kicked Chie in her private area over a broken CD, or if the Persona 4 guys beat up the girls for "intruding" on their personal bathtime, or if the Persona 3 girls were "executed" by the boys for a misunderstanding, and not to mention the scene where Ryuji gets beaten up and ignored for saving lives... I don't like how the abuse towards the boys is normalized and treated casually. I mean, c'mon, Atlus!

Probably the thing more painful about Ryuji's getting beat up after his comeback is that later, Morgana, who is kinda an a-hole anyways, has one of his own and... Nobody is upset. Despite him letting them worry and INTENTIONALLY staying away from the group for several months only to continue being sarcastic. Yet Ryuji gets beat up.

Seriously I hated the characters after Shido’s palace! I didn’t care for how Ryuji got knocked down to comic relief after you befriend him, it’s a trope with all best friend persona characters.

The scene where they beat up ryuji after the cruise dungeon is the worst scene in the game. Its a prime example why i hate p5s writing, it doesnt know when to let go of the anime hijinks when its trying to have serious moments. That gag was pulled off terribly as it wasnt the right moment for that to happen. It made the characters look like psychopaths rather than being a funny scene. He risked his life for fuck sake.

I’m gonna be fixing the scene everybody is talking about in here: It starts the same with the phantom thieves escaping Shido’s palace and moping because they think Ryuji is dead,just then the mementos effect appears and Ryuji returns surviving the explosion,Ann then lunges at him as he prepares for the worst but then Ann hugs him saying “You had me worried sick” while Yusuke says “he was only gone for like fifteen seconds Takamaki-San” but Futaba says “we don’t need to worry about that Inari,but I wonder how did you survive” Ryuji then explains that after the explosion he nearly fell to the water until the navigator saved him and he jokingly says that the nav came in at the last second to build up suspense,then Makoto says “Just glad you’re okay” after that Yusuke says that he’s hungry and Ryuji says “since we stopped Shido and changed his heart,we should have a celebratory buffet like all the other times we changed someone’s heart” and everyone agrees with Haru saying “that mission was tiring,i could go for something right now” and while everyone else walks away to the restaurant,Ryuji and Morgana stay behind “I’m sorry for how I made fun of you” Mona says “I just thought you were the naive best friend that didn’t understand what was happening” Ryuji then says “Don’t worry dude,i forgive you.” Ryuji then says “Why don’t I buy you some fatty tuna so we can put all of this behind us? I’ll pay for it” Mona says “No need to pay for it,you had me at Fatty Tuna.” Then they realize that the others were going there and so they run yelling “Wait! Don’t forget about us!” Just to add some comedy without the expense of someone getting hurt.
