To anyone wondering if Akechi cares about Kasumi, it has been stated that from the bottom of his heart that he does not care about her whatsoever, and views her purely as a teammate. In fact, you could say the very opposite for how he views Joker.

Somehow, Yoshizawa fell under all of those status effects during the story in this Palace. Got dizzy and missed all her enemies on 1/2, then got confused by her sister's cognition, scared to death by the revelation, then got put to sleep until 1/9, got brainwashed by the enemy, fell into depression because Joker-senpai didn't accept new reality, then forgot how to use her persona on 1/12. Poor girl...

It's so weird. Hes damn near pleasant and nice outside of battle, is respectful to Yoshizawa even when in battle...makes me wish akechi still narrated battles even with futaba around

I've seen a lot of comments stating that Akechi doesn't give a shit about Sumi, but I think it should be left up to interpretation. (We all played Royal so no need to spoiler warn also DO NOT assume I ship Akechi and Sumi that's weird we all know that Joker is his true bae) In the part where we fight corrupted Cendrillon, Akechi voluntarily removes himself from the fight. Considering how much Akechi likes fighting that's a bold move on his part. Maybe it was for Joker's sake, but there are factors that may indeed point to Akechi caring about her. The biggest example I can give for that is some of their first interactions with the rest of the Phantom Thieves. The group is extremely hostile and wary of him, except for Joker and Sumi even after knowing context. Then there's the animated cutscene after the Adam Kadamon fight in which he stops her from running to her death. If it was any of the others, I don't think he would've been the one to interject (maybe it was just to give him animated screentime who knows lol). I also have the belief that Akechi can find sympathy for Sumi since she was being puppeteered by a greater force, something that he can relate to. My last reason is that despite seeing his true nature (which we all adore), it doesn't visibly phase her. It's a little weird since Haru scares Sumi, yet she dismisses Crow's sadistic shit and I find that hilarious. I see Akechi and Sumi's standing to be kind of working scenario where Sumi is the new employee and seasoned Akechi was asked by his boss to show her the basics and monitor her. Most of her commentary probably does annoy him to be fair, but out of the group besides Joker I think she annoys him the least (Also Sumi has the most emotional reaction to Akechi disappearing after reality gets restored just saying). This is super long and I'm done now lol
